Very comfy and cozy and plus had a great beach view from my window! Would definitely consider coming back! There were 2 things though that made me decide to give a 4 star review, first of all the temperature, how many times we tried we were never able to keep the temperature leveled. The kitchen and living room were not while the rooms were cold. Second, there is no broom or vacuum to be found anywhere and barely any room service so the carpet in the apartment was very dirty by the time I left. Thank you so much to Lisa for helping us out right before we left with getting the gift shop open for us just to get a small thing.
We stayed in the 4 bedroom corner room. The rooms are spacious & have everything you need! Staff is awesome & super friendly!! The pools are great especially the big outside by the lazy river it’s heated. The ocean is always warm in august. We have stayed here the past 4 years & definitely will be returning next year!!
Been multiple times and every time we come, we get the pleasure of checking in with Spike. Him and all the staff are super friendly. Hotel is right on strip and convenient to so much. The captains house restaurant is right next door with great views and breakfast. Try this place out for yourself and make sure to see Spike
Ot was fine the first 2 days. Friday -Saturday it smelled like someone was smoking weed either on top of us or below us. If this place can’t control their guest when it comes to smoking weed, I’d never come back.
My family stayed in the Jamaican Inn building and it was absolutely horrible! We left one day early because they have no security. A prostitute and her pimp stood outside our door for hours(we could hear them talking). Security was called but never came! Issues with the room: no hot water in the kitchen, the microwave display did not work, ever time we used the stove the smoke detector went off, the king sized bed needs to be replaced, there was no water pressure in the main shower, the man who checked us in was curt and unfriendly. I have emailed them about our experience but no one has contacted us!
We arrived at the hotel with 37 students and 7 adults. Ms. Hattie at the registration desk is an Angel. She was so kind and helpful. We did have a few rude staff for the morning of 11-12-23, so I would suggest to ask for Mrs. Hattie. The rooms and place was awesome and very accommodating. The indoor pool was great too
It was a very comfortable time with my family, the hotel was very clean, organized. Mr. spike very helpful, attentive and very friendly excellent service. It is close to everything especially beachfront.
A word of warning when booking with this “resort”…do not stay at the Jamaican Inn!!! It is down the street from the main resort and completely separate from everything that makes a hotel “convenient.” We stayed New Years weekend December 2022-January 2023. The pool at our building was under construction, which was forgivable since I guess the hurricane had damaged it and the other pools down the street were functional. However, the indoor pools were DISGUSTING! Hair floating everywhere, and my son came across a toe nail!! 🤢 I understand that pools aren’t the cleanest in general, but the Caribbean Resort’s were unacceptable. The outdoor pools were okay, but it was too cool to swim outdoors. As for our hotel room, when we checked in, the receptionist barely acknowledged or looked at me and kept mumbling stuff. Apparently there was some type of error with our reservation so she kept walking away without explanation until finally we were checked in. Never got a clear answer on what the problem was. When I asked if there were any luggage carts we could use at our building (down the road), she kind of smiled and said they weren’t really necessary since it was only four floors and had an elevator…?? She said we could park on the curb with our hazards on to unload everything. Like what? The room itself was decent, although I noticed a day into the stay that there were mold spots throughout the floors that blended into the flooring. Our door would not lock/unlock properly when using the deadbolt. The frame was loose, almost like it had been forced open at some point. Our next door neighbors had to leave theirs propped open with a door stop or else they would be locked out of their room no matter how many times they got a new key card. The walls were extremely thin. It sounded like someone was sliding furniture around on the floor above us and stomping/running around everyday. You could hear everything going on in the hallway. And since they were working on the pool area, you could hear a jackhammer going for hours outside. It was honestly the wort experience we’ve had with a hotel at Myrtle Beach (besides Bar Harbor…never again!). I wish it had been stated when booking online that the Jamaican Inn was actually not part of the main resort area. For the price we paid, we should not have had this experience. The only plus was that the Sea Captains House was directly next door and we got free breakfast vouchers to eat there each morning. Beach goers beware!!!…
We have been traveling to this resort for the past 8 years for an after Christmas vacation for my parents, sister, her children and my children. This year our family had 2, 4 bedroom suites reserved in the Cayman building. Our family travels from Va and NC for this trip. The reservation was made about 8 months ago or more. Upon arrival we were told that one of the suites was not ready and they would have to put some of us in a 3 bedroom until the next day. No problem because my daughter, her husband and 2 kids were not arriving until the next day. Well the next day came and we were told that we would not be able to get the other suite so we could keep the 3 bedroom and the only other thing left that they could give us was a one bedroom in the Dominican Building. That room deserves a 1 star. The smell was horrendous. I don’t know what is needed but we went to Walmart and purchased extra strength fabreeze and an air purifier. It was ridiculous. I was highly disappointed that a place that we have enjoyed for years left such a bad impression. The 3 bedroom did appear to be renovated and the carpet was replaced with vinyl flooring. They should consider doing this in the 1 bedrooms. I strongly suggest not booking in the Dominican building and sticking to the Cayman building. My grandson did enjoy the pool but it doesn’t take much to impress a 9 year old. Unfortunately I did not take pictures to add to my post because normally I try not to post bad reviews but after arriving home I felt like I needed to share with others.…
When we arrived, check-in went fine. We got to our room, the door was very hard to open and close. The room was not as clean or bright as it looked in the website photos and having paid for a full ocean view, I didn't expect one of the rooms to have a window looking into the hallway... weird! We were all very excited to swim and went down to the indoor pool... it was freezing! There were sections of roof missing. Even though the water was heated, it couldn't keep up because of the roof that was missing. We couldn't stand it for more than a few minutes. Very disappointing considering we planned our entire stay around having indoor pools and hot tubs. The water also appeared dirty in the hot tubs. The popcorn ceilings were peeling and flaking onto our clothes, our towels, and us throughout the stay. Then our final night there was a fire alarm. We could barely hear it and the overall emergency response at the hotel left us feeling very uneasy. I don't think we will ever stay at this resort or recommend this resort to anyone!…
