This was our 5th year in a row coming here, and once again it was a wonderful experience. The resort is clean and well-maintained, and our spacious & well-appointed villa was a comfortable retreat throughout our 4 week stay. The views were beautiful, and a day & night long reminder we were no longer in mid-north Indiana. Seeing both the sun and moon rise over the ocean goes beyond words. Our check-in was welcoming and efficient; and staff interactions during our visit were consistently friendly and accommodating. (A thanks to Jack in maintenance, who we met on our first day in the parking garage; and who gave us some great dining suggestions. And, a special shout-out to Jennifer in guest relations; for all her help & attention to our requests.) We're already looking forward to next year's return.

My stay here was Amazing from check-in to check-out! My condo/villa was spacious, clean, and exactly what we needed. The resort itself is very well kept and easy to navigate w/ so much to explore. I enjoyed the service @ the Grille where you can order via QR code (mobile) and either charge to the room or pay @ the register. It wasn’t “Busy” season but there were a good amount of guests enjoying the amenities and help was near at all times. 10/10 will definitely return!

What would have been a nice family getaway during off-season, turned into a frustration-filled stay with the most apathetic resort staff imaginable. We were double-charged for our 3-night stay plus an additional night's fee. The staff were so unconcerned and ineffective in trying to resolve this during our stay. The villas are pretty and the rooms are nice and clean; however, beware of mounting fees, especially if you have a set budget.

First off we have loved Marriot and the villas in many locations. We were here for a funeral. I made resrrvations requesting higher floor. At check in was given 1st floor which I asked change. He had to call someone, took about 15 minutes but I appreciated the change. I said we were here for a funeral and please make sure no one calls for a timeshare presentation. I know this from out prior stays and have been woken up at 8 a... before. Then I find to get a parking pass you have to ho to the timeshare rep's area to get a parking pass. Totally unacceptable. When paying for a service, the room, no demands should be allowed to get what is included. Upon reaching that area rude rep said yea I heard you are here for a funeral so I guess you don't want hour gifts. I said I want my parking pass and he threw a plastic carry bag. Had fu eral hime that night, then funeral next day. Left at 10 a.m. returned exhausted around 9 p.m. Tried to turn living room tv on didn't work. Also one bedroom blew heat, 2nd bedroom blew cold no in between. Called maintenance and ffont desk no answer from either multiple tries. Not at all acceptable for Marriot property. I waited 3 weeks for a response from someone ffom my survey and no one has bothered reaching out. Side note..glad we were changed from first floor as the storm came in, 1st floor smelled like wet dog and barking Website says no pets but I guess owners are allowed.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and we extend our sincere condolences for your loss. We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you faced during your stay, and we understand the importance of a smooth and respectful experience during such difficult times. Your feedback about the check-in process, parking pass, and interactions with our staff is concerning, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. This falls short of the service standards we aim to provide. Rest assured, we will address these issues internally to prevent such incidents in the future.

We typically stay next door at the Marriott. However, in the off season, sometimes you can book a condo at the villas on the Marriott app. We have done this before and had an amazing time. I booked an Oceanside view room. Upon check in, we were given a first floor unit in the scallops building. We walked in the room and the only view was of the path that takes you from the parking lot to the ocean. You could not even hear the ocean much less “view” it. We might as well have been in Lincoln Nebraska. I went to the desk and asked if the rooms on that same side higher up were classified the same. Yes. I politely said there’s no way you should call a first floor unit ocean view. The front desk staff told me that was not their decision, they just did what they were told. I understand that, I just wanted to point out that was not the case. The girl working said she’d never been in that unit and couldn’t say. I offered her the option of walking with me to prove I was telling the truth but no thanks. Anyway, I asked if I could pay for an upgrade and the guy working the front desk said that since this was a vacation club, we would have to cancel the current reservation and book another. Ok, let’s get started. This would take at least an hour he replied. I booked my reservation on the app in like 30 seconds but apparently their computer system is more cumbersome. After a little more discussion, (ok, way more than a little) I eventually was able to speak with a manager and was told they could move me up a couple of floors but it would be on the same side. Again, you would have thought I asked to meet Mr. JW Marriott himself with all of the consternation I created. The view may be a little better I was eventually told. Absolutely thank you. The view was not 100% better, probably 1000% better. I went back to the desk to thank them but more indifference from the desk. Two things about this. The front desk staff only care if you are owners. They offer zero help unless you are a member. I left out a lot of the terrible customer service but you get the idea. Better be a member if you would like to be treated well. And it’s not even being treated well, just a little courtesy in trying to help would be noted and appreciated. Absolutely no care in the world from the front desk if you are not a vacation club member. If you don’t want non members, don’t open up units on the Marriott app. With that said, everybody else was super nice. all of the other staff were truly amazing. It’s just the front desk staff who have zero customer service skills. They acted totally bothered and completely unwilling to offer a solution. Bottom line. Don’t let them fool you into thinking a first floor room has any kind of view. Also, just stay next door at the regular Marriott where all of the people are nice.

I've stayed at Oceanwatch multiple times a year since 2010 as an owner and guest of an owner who is a family member. Always pleased with the villa and the cleanliness on the past except for this time. Food from prior guests was left in the kitchen cabinet, thick layer of dust on the door seals and hair in the master bathroom shower.

I recently stayed at the Marriott Ocean Villas at Grand Dunes and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the villas were very nice and spacious, providing ample room for relaxation. However, one slight downside was that despite being promised an "oceanfront" villa, some of them were set a bit back from the ocean. Nonetheless, they still offered unimpeded views of the ocean, which was a plus. The spaciousness of the villas was definitely appreciated. On the negative side, there was some pressure to attend a time-watch presentation under the pretext of receiving a "free gift" and a garage parking pass. This might be off-putting for those who prefer to have a hassle-free stay without any sales pitches. Overall, while the villas were pleasant and roomy, be prepared for a potential sales presentation during your stay.

If you love the beach, and having it a few steps away, then this place is ideal! Room with a view, clean, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, living room and terrace- all the amenities you could want. There are several pools available on property as well. If any concerns, staff gets to it immediately! We love it!

As a timeshare owner in Hawaii, I traded into this Marriott property. When making pre check in arrangements and choices I talked with the associate and told her my plight. I lost my husband 6 weeks ago after 56 years of marriage. I usually trade into Hilton Head but there was nothing available so Interval International, owned by Marriott, gave me this option. I have been a member for 30 years. I requested to be on the beach because I wanted to walk the beach and try to ground myself with the enormity of the loss I have had in the past four months. 2 nephews with muscular dystrophy and my husband. What a more perfect place to get away than the ocean. When we were checked in, we went to our room. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. We have peek a boo views, not even remotely close to the ocean. I have adult onset asthma and it will be quite a hike to get to the beach area. To add insult to injury you can barely talk on the lanai because we are cozied up to the maintenance building. Delightful. After talking with 2 staff members I was told this is the only unit available. They have NO inventory, which I find hard to believe in October. After all, I am not an owner here, and they only cater to the owners. Too bad about your loss and everything you are dealing with. I have ALWAYS TRADED into a Marriott and this is the first time I can honestly say I won’t come back, nor will I recommend this to anyone else. I have them a two because the rooms are what I expected from a Marriott, but a zero for their customer service and lack of compassion! I am here for 7, SEVEN, days and get to listen to the maintenance building while trying to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. You can do better than this Marriott. Shameful.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is beautiful. The beach is so clean. The pools are great, but SO loud. I was looking forward to relaxing days at the pool, but they don't exist at the main pool. There is either loud live music or music playing over speakers which is somewhat pleasant in the morning but gets progressively louder throughout the day to where you have to shout to have conversations. That coupled with people.playing their own speakers at high volume make for a non-relaxing atmosphere. It feels like being at a night club, not a Marriott. There is a "quiet" pool, but not conveniently located to the villas.
