Loved the room. This was a fairly large 2BR corner/end unit on the 8th floor. Views were great. Room was very well laid out. Furnishing were top notch as well. The building I was assigned, had to use the attached parking garage, which was fine, but you have to take one elevator down to the lower level, then possibly take another elevator in the parking garage up to where vehicle is. The big issue I had with this resort, comes down to cleanliness......again. In the master bath, both sinks were not cleaned properly. But what really drives me insane, was the balcony was not cleaned "at all". The table was covered in ash from a previous guest smoking out there. The chairs were covered in beach sand, and the floor was covered in beach sand. I hate having bare feet and tracking beach sand all over the unit, and especially don't want to track the sand into bed with me at night. Also the runner where the sliding glass door is, was absolutely disgusting. I called housekeeping, they responded. They cleaned some of it, but did not hardly clean the floor. I had to get the dustpan and brush and clean it myself. During this Covid-19 crisis, I am especially disgusted when housekeeping fails to wipe down and sanitize surfaces. Especially when they claim they are increasing the cleaning procedures. The location is right on the beach, and I believe all units have a water view. The pools are very nice, and access to the beach is only a short walk. They even have storage unit right near the beach to leave your beach chairs, toys and umbrella if you have your own. Although it is difficult to find an open one on most occasions. Also a side note, that has nothing to do with the resort. "SAND FLEAS". I would go to the beach during the late afternoon, early evening. It turns out, I was getting bitten constantly by sand fleas, and it wasn't until several days after I left, that I developed huge welts on my feet and ankles. This ends up getting incredibly itchy beyond belief. I read that you can also get an infection from these things. Although I hate to wear bug spray, I will definitely do this the next time I got to the beach.

I stayed here for five nights in a two bedroom, ocean view apartment on the 12th floor. The apartment was very clean, the bedding is very luxurious. You can order bar drinks and food. Bring your own chairs for the beach because a vendor on the beach rents them for $45 per day. There are cubicles down by the beach to store your beach umbrellas and chairs. You are within walking distance of a few great restaurants if you do not want to get in the car.
You can walk on the beach for miles and the beach is so well maintained.
There are 3 televisions in a two bedroom apartment, full kitchen, washer/dryer. The staff was very helpful and always pleasant.
There is daily live entertainment by the pool.

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. We only came for the night but wanted to stay longer (couldn't due to work) however the grounds are immaculate, there are pools and hot tubs everywhere in any direction you can go, as well as an indoor pool. There's a full size gym with up to date and clean equipment (including dumbbells, a row machine, and much more). The room itself was great-we stayed in 3084 on the 8th floor (it was an oceanfront 2 bd/2 ba). There was adequate space for all 4 of us-felt as if we were right at home. The room with the king bed had a MASSIVE jacuzzi tub and a stand alone shower that could fit 2 or 3 adults easily. Housekeeping was spectacular, the staff was more than friendly and accommodating, beach access is only right in front of you so it's a very short walk. We didn't eat anywhere on site because we were only there for 1 night but we will be back for sure in a few weeks and then in the summer. I can imagine it is slammed during the summer months but this time of year was FANTASTIC because there were not many people there at all which was PERFECT! We truly enjoyed ourselves! What peace it brought!

We have stayed with Marriott for decades and in general, are extremely satisfied with the value Marriott offers.
On this particular visit, we extended our stay twice prior to arrival, resulting in several contiguous reservations in the same suites. Unfortunately, the computer viewed these as one reservations terminating with the others commencing for the same groups in the same suites. This resulted in our card keys being inactivated for at least 3 families including mine, my son’s and my daughter’s (with her tired 2-year old). Extremely inconvenient and rather annoying. I think this is room for improvement.

When I requested extra towels because we had to make some room switches, I was advised that none would be fourth-coming and that I should take advantage of the washer and dryer included in the suite to get clean towels. I received some laundry detergent.

We paid for beach chairs but since the beach is public, rude people can still select a spot immediately in front of you to set up their chairs and play their music.

We are currently staying at Ocean Watch Villas in an ocean front corner unit that is adjacent to the Marriott Resort Hotel next door to the time share. We are impressed with both how Ocean Watch has implemented CDC Covid recommendations and how responsible the guests are in following the guidelines. This is a home base for us so we come here annually and enjoy ocean front rooms. We are not normally in the Conch building next to the resort hotel and we find that our peace and quiet is interrupted by the sound of music blaring from the resort hotel's pool speakers. I have always found it puzzling why people coming to an upscale ocean front resort are bombarded with loud music that drowns out the natural music of the ocean waves and birds. Okay, so I am out of step with what experiences guests are searching for but, why in the world would they continue to blast the sound when no one is at the pool, on the deck or in fact when the outside is totally empty. I did call the Ocean Watch front desk during the evening about the noise and was informed that the resort followed the town's noise guidance - it would be turned off at 11:00pm. I am sure the music is set to turn on and off at pre-arranged times. But, wouldn't it be nice to hear the waves and birds? Alas, perhaps too much effort for a manger to ask - exactly who is listening to the noise? In the future we will object to being put in any room that is adjacent to the Resort Hotel and would recommend that others consider their peace and quiet when accepting a such a room assignment. We are MVCI Chairman Select and Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium members and would be happy to discuss this issue with a member of Marriott management.

We enjoy New Years Eve at Oceanwatch Villas at Grande Dunes every year. It is a very nice property. One of the reasons we choose to visit as hotel guests is that we enjoy housekeeping. On our first night, housekeeping forgot to visit our room. When we arrived from a full day out on the town, we found our beds unmade, dirty towels on the floor (where we left them), and a sink full of dirty dishes. I quickly called down to the front desk and asked for towels. I also asked for an adjustment on our bill. I was told that the Housekeeping Manager would be in touch. Before leaving the premises the next day I asked the front desk about the adjustment. I was told again that Housekeeping would be notified of my request for an adjustment on our bill. At checkout three days later, there was no adjustment on our bill. I asked the front desk and she said that I would receive 500 Bonvoy points. Of course I never did. And what really makes me wonder about management and training for this chain is that I made note of all of this on the survey I received after our stay. I thought surely someone would get back to me or add those points to our rewards account. Nope, nada. It's disappointing. I feel like the front desk just blew me off. And the survey clearly has no impact (at least from my perspective). Disappointed.

We had a fantastic stay in a spacious 2 bedroom ocean view condo. We were in the Maple building which sits behind the oceanfront buildings and requires a few minute walk to the beach. The ocean view, pools, and amenities were outstanding! Due to the current COVID situation, the property is not at full capacity. Nothing was crowded, pool chairs easy to come by, and solo elevator rides made me feel comfortable. I was quite surprised there wasn’t hand sanitizer stations, social distancing, or more than usual cleaning and disinfecting occurring. There wasn’t enforcement of the closing time for the pools (which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it) The beach storage cubbies were very handy for holding our beach chairs so we didn’t have to lug them back to our room each day. Overall, a delightful stay and we would love to be a guest at this location again!

Our family stayed here for a week, booking one of the Oceanfront villas well in advance. Thankfully, we requested a large balcony and enjoyed the extra room outside. We stayed in the Starfish building, which is the middle of the 3 main oceanfront/side villas. Some advantages to this location are that the pools, activity room, lobby and main areas are accessible directly below. Many of the "oceanfront" rooms have smaller balconies, so be aware when booking if that matters to you. We loved the modern, spacious villa that had plenty of seating, comfortable beds, huge soaking tub and enough drawer space to store our clothing. A washer and dryer was also included. They provide beach towels which can be replenished as needed, and a daily tidy housekeeping service. There is a covered parking garage that is a nice feature, accessibly only to key holders. My children loved the activity center (located on first floor of Starfish), as it provided lots of different activity options such as crafts, coloring, video games, popcorn and movie nights, etc. The pools are abundant and beach access is quick and easy, with a storage area right next to the beach access gate, to hold any beach accessories you might need. The drawbacks to this trip were minimal, though I do have to mention the timeshare sales pitch that they enticed us with. Had to make an appointment to attend and for 90 minutes talked to a sales specialist about the great investment we could make with Marriott Vacation Club. At the end of this presentation, a finance director comes in and calculates it all to aim for the close. Very much like a car dealership when buying a vehicle. They will offer many perks, but be aware that this is all a glossed-over version and make sure to ask any and all questions before committing to anything. They will expect an answer before you leave, as no offer or perks will be permitted once leaving. This resort offers a "welcome gift" upon arrival, so if not wanting a breakfast voucher, ask for resort credit instead. Overall, this is a large resort with friendly employees, abundant activities and a high-end atmosphere. Shout-out to manager Larry, Roz in activities and the other employees throughout who work so hard to make this a fabulous resort.

This was one of two family vacations for us in 2019. We took all of our adult kids, thier spouses, our college aged daughter, our teen and our grandbaby. With a large range in ages such as this it is always hard to chooose somewhere that everyone can enjoy. This hotel delivered something for everyone.
First of all for my husband who is superbly picky about his hotels, the villas were upscale, well appointed and well kept. The rooms were spacious with an amazing master with a ensuite bathroom that we enjoyed immensley. The other rooms were bery large and spacious as well. We had 8 adults and 1 baby in the villa with more than enough room for everyone. This is a must for my husband.

I was happy that there were so many options for eating that we did not have to leave the area much but there were also great restaurants and a nice gorcery store nearby as well as my much needed Starbucks.

My adult kids enjoyed the different pools and the beach while my younger daughter enjoyed the events offered and the lazy river. My grandbaby had fun in the indoor kiddy pool which was not very busy so that was great for her first time in a pool.

The staff were aways helpful and we most enjoyed the rides offered around the property in the golf carts by the staff. It made my teenager smile. I absolutely recommend this property. It was worth every dime that we paid for this family trip. I will be back.

Been vacationing here once or twice a year since it opened in 2004. This is our favorite Marriott location. It is well maintained with very friendly, helpful staff who never pass you by without saying hello or waving if in a golf cart. Any minor issues with the villa have been taken care of within minutes of calling. Pools are well maintained and heated when necessary. The week we were here the ocean temperature was 82 degrees. They are following all covid protocols with one person or family in the elevator at one time. During the week we encountered no issues with this requirement. The poolside bar was open with friendly efficient bartenders. We did use the Sand Dollar concession for lunch a few days. Pool chairs were spaced out with plenty of social distancing available. Already have reservations for next year.
