We stayed for 33 days and really enjoyed the visit and would definitely stay here again. Given it was off season, it was relatively quiet but can see this is definitely geared toward families with the various amenities. This is a large park with nearly 1,100 sites with a mix of permanent residents, villas for rent, rvs for rent and rv sites. There are various sites type from easy beach access, to lake views to wooded cover. We were in a site only 50 yards from the beach. And no, you cannot request a specific site number but can request a type – will get your site number at check in.

The park is easy to find is less than a mile from a Walmart and Tanger outlets. The check in process was efficient with courteous staff and was set up to address COVID-19 protocols. Be sure to pay a week in advance to make the process the fastest. The sites for the beach were smaller but there were larger sites, particularly under the trees. The site was full hook up and had a covered picnic table. There were 61 cable channels that worked fine and the internet was adequate but not always supportive of streaming. The bath houses were very nice and convenient throughout the park and the staff sanitized them twice a day.

The staff were very customer service oriented whether it was the office staff or maintenance crew. I had a few times interacting with the office staff and they were always positive and helpful. The maintenance crew was friendly and very hard working keeping the grounds looking nice. We were there during two big storms and soon after the storm passed, the crews were out quickly cleaning up debris and fixing the roads.

We just returned from 6 glorious days camping at MBTP in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Check in process was simple. Prepaid balance before arrival. Got paperwork/map at office then proceeded thru the security gate. Very friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy we were there. We were assigned site Richmond 252 which was steps from the ocean. Decent sized spot with a yard, small fence, palm tree, picnic table and pavillon. We met up with family who were in the spot right behind us. The dunes are high so you can't really see the ocean but you could definitely hear it and the ocean breeze was perfect! Daily trash pick up at 1pm was wonderful! Park seemed to be maybe 30% capacity most of the week so nothing was crowded which was so nice. We enjoyed many hours in the lazy river and pool. Loved the music at the pool. These areas were very clean and well maintained. Constant sanitizing going on by staff. Snack bar was open, arcade was open, all pools open, general store open and fully stocked. Kona ice came on Sunday, delicious! Bath houses are beautiful and extremely clean. Gravel roads were tilled while we were there. There is round the clock, constant maintenance and cleaning at this campground. My dad lost hot water on day 2, there was an RV Rehab guy that came over immediately and fixed it in minutes for a very reasonable price. Beaches were beautiful, sunsets and sunrises gorgeous! Wifi worked decent, did drop a few times each day but usually came right back. Our son enjoyed feeding the turtles and ducks in the lake. They definitely know where to get the food. Lol. Our family loved our time at MBTP so much we are considering making this an annual trip down from VA Beach were we live. We really have no complaints, do wish we could reserve specific campsites also would love to see the campground have their own app to access, hours, maps, menus, activities etc...we got a lot of paperwork at check in and was cumbersome to keep going back to, to check hours and activities.

Highly recommend staying here.

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and glad we found an open spot at this RV Park right off the beach!! There are over 1,000 sites so it's rather large. There are seasonals who stay here but plenty of transient sites as well. There is the area closer to the beach but no trees OR there are sites under some tree cover which is what we chose to avoid some of that summer sun/heat as it was in the 90's!! Love that this park offers 2 pools - one indoor and one outdoor also with a small lazy river! The outside pool has a small section that goes as deep as 9 feet which is rare!! Plus you're steps away from the ocean if you prefer sitting on the beach! They have a rather large arcade room that also has their grill for snacks/food/drinks/etc. Then they have a rather large store that offers all kinds of groceries, RV Supplies, and souvenir type items.

The bathhouses are located through the park which were very nice and clean and had great showers if you didn't want to shower in your RV.

They did require a 7-night minimum stay when booking during the busy season (I think they have different rules on the off season). We really enjoyed our stay here and would absolutely return some day. It is a little drive from the heart/attractions of Myrtle Beach. Ubers were not practical every day so we ended up renting a car since we didn't tow our own. But there were plenty of restaurants and shopping not too far from the RV park. The wifi needs some help as it really was very weak and slow and just not practical. Even the cell service seems slow on our Verizon phones. That would be my only complain and hope that they would beef that up. We camped at Myrtle Beach Travel Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the Lake/Ocean view cabin. It was adorable! The bed was comfortable. You do need to bring your own bed linens & towels. I also had to purchase dish soap, sponges, paper towels, & I brought a dish towel with me. There was also no hand soap in the bathroom so I ran to Walmart (right down the rd very convenient) to buy had a soap. The beds do have pillows but no pillow cases. We brought our own pillows anyway.
The kitchen basics are provided such as plates, bowls, pots& pans, and silverware. There is a coffee maker - Kuerig and a toaster.
There is a lovely porch with table and chairs and a fire ring with ADK chairs.
We walked to the ocean and sat on the beach all day! If we had a lot of stuff we drove and parked at our friends campsite but you can park by the pavilion also. The campground is HUGE! The camp store is great and the pool area looked wonderful although we did not use it. We wanted to sit by the ocean. We went the end of April and it was breezy and some times very very windy. We were protected from the wind up by our cabin. The caning has AC and heat.

we were there on 8/12/20 for a 4 day vacation. after 1 day there we had a medical emergency on 8/13/20 had to drive back home on a 7 hour drive. I went to the office to explain our problem and they allowed us to change the dates with out a penalty. we were glad to see there understanding about our situation. We love the indoor swimming pool as we are seniors which was warm and there resturant on premises with a nice general store. We have been other places but have settled on this place. They placed us where we asked. Recommend this camp sight. there is a walmart/ resturants/tangier outlet mall and fire station all less than 5 minutes away

We planned a trip to MBTP the week of Oct. 16, a couple weeks after Ian. After seeing a video of the extensive flooding to the beach sites, we should have been more aware that there could be potential problems. Upon arrival, we plugged in to the electrical service to find that out that there was major issues. The 30 and 50 amp service was arcing and we were concerned it would damage our RV. We slept with no air conditioning with an extension cord hanging out of our door. The next morning, service came to look at our box and said there was nothing wrong, it must be our RV. My husband made them open up the box and there was extensive corrosion. We asked to be moved, but wanted the service personnel to examine the box prior to moving. He came back to tell us that it was in the same shape. Concerned that the entire beach area sites were the same, we requested a full refund. After having to threaten the park with calling the inspector, they consented to a refund; however, they told us they didn't have the capability of putting the money back on our credit card. They would have to write a check and it would be 7-10 days. As of today, have not received a refund check. We had no choice but to contact the credit card company and dispute the transaction. Past experience at staying at a campground with faulty electrical service resulted in us replacing our air conditioning unit. Apparently by the number of people that questioned what was going on, there were many more sites that were not working properly. Management should be more responsible by notifying RVers of protential issues, or close the campground down and do the responsible thing of getting your services checked out.

We came to MBTP for Labor Day weekend. We brought our golf cart to ride but we’re unable to ride it around because of the rules. Rules say unless you’re handicap or a permanent resident you can’t rent or ride a golf cart. Keep in mind this facility is over 125 acres and has over 1200 sites. There was no way to tote our baby around and my in laws who are over 60 but not considered handicap had to walk everywhere we went. I felt like we were being harassed by staff about the golf cart situation, so the whole time we felt like we were “under their radar.” We won’t be staying at this park again but other than the golf cart incident the pool was clean and big. Also no power wheels allowed, electric scooters or bikes of any kind. My son brought his regular scooter but couldn’t ride it because of the sandy rocky roadways, so bikes would prob be best. Tried to go to the general store but it closed at 5. All in all we made the best of our trip but next time we come to Myrtle beach we definitely won’t be staying here.

I visit MBTP 1-3 times a year. I prefer it when the kids are in school. I noticed the visitors that say they like the golf cart rule only visit when schools are in session. (April, May and September) If you go while the children are out of school the golf cart rules do not seem to apply. The rules are you have to be a permanent guest or have a handicapped sticker. During the summer kids are flying up and down the roads on a golf cart. (Children from 10-17+) They do not seem to have any disabilities nor do they have an adult driving. The golf carts are full. The rule needs to be enforced to have the disabled person driving it not their guest and children. It would be nice if they would allow senior citizens to have a golf cart. I think most people would agree that it is much more difficult to carry your things to the beach when you are 65-70 years old. It was much easier when I was in my 40's. The pool and staff are great. My last visit was in a very small cramped site. Every other year the sites have been comfortable and spacious.

We came for a week. Our spot was excellent and all spots had a shelter covering the picnic table. Just a couple minute walk and we were at the beach on the ocean. Everyone was friendly and if you needed anything, all you needed to do was ask.
I would definitely consider camping here again

This is a huge park with different lodgings available. They have many sites to rent and also travel trailers. Sites on the beach, near the pool , on the lake or in the trees. We stayed right on the lake with a wonderful view and a constant breeze. We could see the ocean from our site. Sites on the lake were spacious near the beach they looked tight. The outside pool and lazy river were a little too cool for us. The inside covered pool was a great temperature. A large store with food and gifts. I saw electric bike rentals at the store, also saw paddle boats to rent. The beach was beautiful and not crowded. As per the previous review we did see many golf carts but none were in use. I can understand what it must be like during the summer with all those golf carts roaming the streets. The beach sites looked full but many empty sites on the other side of the lake. My only issue with the lake sites there was a steep cliff down to the water. Not a great place for young children.

Are campfires allowed at the campsites?
Answer from MBTP
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Campfires are allowed on campsites unless local government issues a burn ban. You can make your own fire ring – please keep the fire small, don’t leave unattended and clean up completely after you are finished.

No, not on the beach in Myrtle Beach. It's too crowded and years ago, when it was allowed, it got "out of hand." Too many tents, extremely overcrowded with them, people setting their tents up the night before or super early in the am to have their shaded space on the beach the next day. It got a little crazy. You can have them at the campground though.

Can you bring your own golf cart?
Answer from MBTP

Golf carts aren’t allowed on transient sites unless there is a disability and we ask for certain documentation to approve use of a cart. Cart must be electric. Please call if you have questions about being eligible.
