This is a very nice property. The rooms and condos are really nice. This was my second time staying at this location. It was very different from last year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The housekeeping supposedly cleans and sanitizes each room prior to each guest entering the room ( I recommended doing it yourself as well) and they don't reenter again until after you check out. So no beds are made are daily cleanings during your stay. You have to place your garbage outside of your door, or take the bags to the trash shoot yourself. If you want fresh linens or towels, you have to bring your soiled ones to the front desk and swamp them for clean ones (I just washed mine in the washer/dryer that was in the room). This is not the norm, this is only due to the pandemic. Very nice place, I recommend it highly.

Thank you Shorty64, We greatly appreciate you understanding our changes in housekeeping, and that you understand we have to keep ourselves safe as much as we like to keep our guest safe. Glad that you're family enjoyed their stay and that your daughter enjoyed her birthday. We look forward to greeting you and your family again.

Outside entry style room, not a room accessed from inside the building if that’s a concern, however, there were adequate locks on front door and it’s a very family oriented establishment. Additionally, the parking garage may only be entered with a placard displayed in the vehicle. Two bedroom, two bath suite with living room, kitchen, dining area and ocean view balcony. Air conditioning worked extremely well, though closing bedroom doors at night left rooms warmer later. Very clean as was rest of hotel and grounds. Covid-19 protocols were in affect and being enforced. Encounter an issue with a non-working sliding glass door to balcony, which was corrected promptly by maintenance staff. Parking was very easy in attached parking garage. Located close to area dining and shopping, as well as 15 minute drive to boardwalk area.

We booked a two bedroom ocean view accommodation and I must admit I didn’t know what to expect for every good review I felt like there was a bad one. We waited until last minute to book for the new years weekend and this was the only location that had two bedroom units available that I could find. The check in process was amazing the staff at this hotel was absolutely amazing. I was very surprised at how much we used and appreciated the amenities this resort had! The indoor pools were on the smaller side there was only one hot tub but it ended up being okay we never were in a situation where we couldn’t get in. The reviews about the parking garage had sketched me out but with that being said I was impressed with how much parking space was in the garage and it was connected to the building!!! So you didn’t have to cross the street which was a huge plus!!! Yes the parking garage is tight and you must allow extra time to be careful when leaving and coming in but I can appreciate all the spaces available in the past we have been at resorts that ran out of spaces in the garages and were stuck using a sketchy overflow lot multiple streets back. And we never had to worry about that with this garage. So I can appreciate it! At the time there was only one working elevator but there was postings stating they were doing maintenance since it was the off season and I actually appreciated it we still didn’t have much issue during check in and check out getting on the elevator. You just had to be patient. There were a couple of times we chose to use the stairs which wasn’t an issue for us at all. Our room was very updated and I loved the layout and view! The washer and dryer in the unit was brand new, lots of cabinet space, fully furnished with kitchen utensils, the beds were extremely comfortable we had no issue resting. The only negative I could possibly find was that they could have taken a little extra time to worry about the details when it came to the cleanliness of the room. But other than that we were very very pleased!! This property wasn’t the most fancy we have ever stayed at but it was definitely laid back and everyone including the other guests were so friendly. It was a breath of fresh air honestly. I was impressed with how great the grounds of the hotel were kept up! If you are thinking about booking this hotel do it you won’t be disappointed unless you are extremely picky I’m assuming the negative reviews I read before booking that had me nervous were individuals that are way too nit-picky and don’t have patience for others.

During the month of June, my girlfriend and I had stayed with you all on the nights of the 13th & 14th. #BeachColonyResort Our stay was enjoyable for the most part, despite the gloomy weather, and other things out of our control. We arrived back home on June 15th after leaving the room unaltered or damaged. After checking credit card statements, a charge of nearly 400 dollars was placed on the account. This charge occurred 5 days after we checked out on the 15th. We reached out to Beach Colony Resort only to find out that the charge came from an apparent "wetting" of the bed, resulting in the condition of the mattress becoming unusable. Now, in my nearly 27 years of life, and my girlfriends 29, I am 100 % positive that neither of us has pissed ourselves since we were kids. There are so many unanswered questions that Beach Colony Resort is refusing to answer. They cannot tell us which bed was supposedly "soiled" or provide pictures/written transcript of the apparent damage. They also cannot tell us if other individuals reserved the room during the time we checked out, and the time our card was charged for this absurd amount, which again was about 5 days. We have been promised by staff at Beach Colony Resort would reach out to us, but we haven't been lucky enough to come into contact with them, yet. To me, it sounds like we are being taken advantage of so that this resort can make some extra money by my expense. Now, I realize Covid- 19 has probably made a huge impact on the resort financially. However, DO NOT try to charge people for things that they DID NOT do. It is a shady act, and a greedy one for that matter. I DO NOT recommend this resort to anybody visiting the Myrtle Beach area. If this resort has the audacity to treat 2 paying customers like this, who are innocent. Then, I could only imagine how they treat all the rest of their customers.

Thank you for your feedback. Upon check out housekeeping noticed that the bed to the left was wet with a strong odor of urine. We in turn had to remove and replace it for the safety of our future guests. In cases like this the guest is charged for the damages. When speaking to you on the phone it was mentioned that you had a 2 year old in diapers in the room which was most likely the cause. We are not in practice to blindly charge someone for something they didn't do. While you may not have known this occurred, the soiled mattress was witnessed by multiple members of management and a new mattress was placed in the room. If you would like to further discuss please feel free to call us.

I have stayed at Beach Colony since they 1st opened around 1985. But this time was the worst. I was given a room that had NO shutters and therefore had no privacy. I asked for another room and they said they had one on the 20th floor, so I packed everything up and moved after wiping everything down with a disinfectant. So after arriving at another room it also have NO shutters. I will NOT stay at a room with no shutters again. If they can't afford to put up shutters, then these rooms should be discounted. I am asking for a partial refund. I have tried calling and emailing the manager but they don't bother emailing me back

The Beach Colony resort is the best place to stay when visiting Myrtle Beach. We have been coming to this resort for over 20 years and every time we visit, we find the rooms extremely clean, the beds very comfortable and the resort is very quiet especially at night. All of the staff are very nice and accommodating and always go the extra mile to ensure your stay is great. Under the recent management of Joe Angelino, the property has undergone a big transformation in terms of room upgrades and resort activity improvements. Under Joe's leadership, Beach Colony is run with perfection and he ensures that guests feel welcome and happy during their stay. Checking into Beach Colony is also very easy especially with Keni at the front desk. She is always very nice and helpful. The resort is directly on the beach and is located in a quiet area away from the crowded central area of the beach. However, it is only 5 minutes from Broadway at the Beach, 2 minutes away from several restaurants and 10 minutes from Barefoot Landing. This location allows you to get away from the loud and crowded part of the city and still be close to everything in a much nicer setting. The parking area is attached to the resort which is uncommon in a Myrtle Beach resort. At other resorts, you have to cross the street to get to your car which makes access harder. Beach Colony is the best place to stay if you want a relaxing, quiet, fun, and exceptional stay in Myrtle Beach.

We got stranded in Myrtle Beach after the room we booked in advance fell through due to bugs and housekeeping forgetting about the room. So here I am trying to find somewhere decent on a Friday night at the beach. After many phone calls, I found a room available at Beach Colony Resort. Boy was I shocked when we got there. The rooms are spacious, full of all the conviences of home, best view of the beach, balcony, and many things to do at the resort. The staff is awesome!!!! There are several pool inside/outside, lazy river, indoor/outdoor hot tubs, saunas, arcades, and many things to do around the resort for people of all ages.

Most importantly the rooms are CLEAN!!!!! Housekeeping and maintenance does a great job keeping this large resort clean and sanitized.

The bartenders/waitresses at the restaurant went above and beyond on multiple occasions. Fantastic job of service from all we encountered, making special orders, supplying vinegar for Man-O-War stings.
Maintenance was on the ball, responding very quickly and handling room issues as well as they were able.
However, the lazy river was out of service for most of our stay, and we had to ask all over to get any answers, the jet tub in our room was broken beyond repair, there were several lights that were not working correctly, and there was a persistent smell in the room of mildew and cigarette smoke (not bad - just annoying).

The master bed is lumpy and uncomfortable, as is the main couch.
I would say the carpets should probably be replaced, and the microwave may need to be as well.
Had 3 cockroaches during our visit.

On the other hand, I can't say enough good things about the restaurant people during our stay.

Was reluctant to book a week here based on some of the reviews but luckily I went by the good reviews and we were not disappointed. I will begin by addressing the bad reviews. Check in and check out was a breeze with no wait, the front desk clerk was very friendly and happy. We never waited long for any elevator. Resort staff are constantly cleaning the property, disinfecting inside of elevators by wiping them down, there was a young gentleman on the first floor constantly sweeping and wiping that area. All the pools were crystal clear and the heated ones were a good temperature for us. We could see workers cleaning pools and hosing things off early every morning. The outdoor furniture looked in new condition. I was grateful to have a garage to park my car in to keep out of the weather and sun, yes you have to take your time when driving in the garage and use the mirrors they have on each corner and be considerate of others. We did not use garage elevators but the stairwells could use some cleaning and attention. We ate lunch at the Cannonballz a couple of times, the food was good, adequate portions and reasonably priced. The attendant like all other staff was very friendly. We had an Ocean Front suite on 18th floor which was very adequate for us with a great view of the ocean, beach and pool areas. The room was modern and clean but oh my there was dust on top of the refrigerator :( the kitchen pans were not the best I went out and bought a new griddle to make breakfast on. We enjoyed the hotel grounds around the pools more than the beach. The hotel and furnishings are not filthy and are delightful to be around and use. We would seriously consider a stay here again if there is another trip to Myrtle Beach in our future.

My husband and I are staying with another couple at this resort right now. I have stayed here 3 other times years ago and this resort was great. Now it is disgusting. I rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath oceanfront condo for 6 nights. The master bedroom is ok but the 2nd bedroom is disgusting. Sheets have spots of blood. There is a pad underneath the sheet that keeps getting bunched up so I removed the fitted sheet to adjust it and found sand, dead bug, and dirt under it. This bed is one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept on and now I find that the sheets were probably not changed. I will be sleeping on the pullout bed for our last night here I guess.
Some of the rooms are nice here but it depends on who owns the unit you’re stuck with. Paid extra for oceanfront because I thought it would be a better condo but not so.
Did I mention the ice machine is right outside our condo so I hear that early in the morning and at three in the morning.
This resort also needs a security person to try and calm the puking over the balcony that has occurred from the same room all week. People smoking in the pool. Yes in the pool not in a pool chair. Etc etc etc. So much craziness goes on here and no one does anything about it.
Site says extra cleaning because of covid. Such a lie.
My husband and I take 4 vacations a year and I have never been displeased enough to write a bad review. I’m beyond upset at this resort.
