Nice stay as long as you don't require any assistance. I booked through a third party, door entrance code was provided at check in time, via email, after 4 pm. Parking lot is across the street, a few blocks away. We arrived after 10 pm, thanks to the security guard on the premises, he advised how to reach the unit on the top floor. There are two elevators and a restaurant on the main floor. I think there were 4 pools, beach front and beach view from the room. On the negative side, we stayed during Memorial weekend. I saw many tourists walking in to reserve a room, but no front desk was available, so they had to go elsewhere. Also, it was Bike Week, bikes could be heard up and down the Boulevard all night, till about 3 am.

I booked unit 201 on Airbnb. It was decent; 1 bedroom/bath, kitchenette, living room and decent sized balcony. The tiki bar is located directly underneath this unit so it can get quite noisy. There are a few pools and 2 hot tubs. 1 onsite pizzeria and a small tiki bar. There does seem to be a problem with its stay cats at this property (noticed the same issue on the boardwalk too). I paid $60 for an early check in, $1354 for the week.

The first day we were there there was a stabbing in the parking lot. Apparently the day before the was a suicide at the condo next door. We were warned by the bartender at the tiki bar that it’s best not to walk the areas around the resort after dark bc it can be quite dangerous.

This resort is a little less than 2 miles from the airport. It’s not really within walking distance to anything other than other resorts and a minimart. I would probably stay here again if I ever went back to Myrtle (tho I’m not sure I’d go back). Beach access was really nice. Uber is readily available in the area but seems to be a little more expensive than what I’ve paid in other areas.

We had reserved a condo at another location a few blocks away but were moved to Bluewater resort. We were in an oceanfront unit so nice views of the beach. Beach location was great. Resort is in middle of major refurbishing so all the pools were closed during our stay. Will be nice when done. Restaurant on site and parking was easy. Plenty of elevators and luggage carts. The condo we stayed in could use updating but it was a private unit, so that is not under control of resort. It is in an urban area of Myrtle beach, so many sirens and street traffic noise at night.

The unit was extremely filthy when we arrived. Hairs on the pillows and sheets, 2 syringes under one bed, empty box and dust bunnies under beds (the reclean lady got a whole large dustpan full of trash from under the beds). The outlet by the bathroom sink would not work even after trying to reset it, test it, reset it, etc. The outlet by the kitchen sink works, but is broken and wiggles when you plug something in. The top outlet between the tv and the kitchen stove doesn't work (the bottom one of it did). There were piles of dust on the ac unit (inside the apartment) in the living room as well as piles of dust under the unit on the baseboards. The tub water would run if you turn the handle all the way off and had to turn it back towards on a little to get it to stop running. The toilet ran constantly unless you jiggled the handle. My wife likes going barefooted. When she tried that in this apartment, her feet were blackened. The fitted sheet on the second bed wasn't even the right size (it was too small). When we mentioned the dirty sheets, instead of getting clean ones, we were given a bag of laundry soap to go and wash them ourselves on our vacation and spend $3 for the machines by the recleaning lady as she had been instructed by the management. The recleaning lady (Janice) was very nice.

Bottom line, the room was so bad that I did something I have never done. We actually check out a day earlier to start driving home and we stayed in a Holiday Inn in Spartanburg and had the best night's sleep of the entire trip.

If this is the type of management that Elliot Beach Rentals does of their units, this could be our last stay with them and we will be sure to let our friends know to protect them from having such a trying vacation.

To warn other travelers of Blue Water Resort 817 I will be sure and leave similar reviews on other apps and websites.

I now need a vacation from my vacation.....

Worst vacation destination we have ever had.
Upon opening the door the expectation and disappointment was at a 10. The apt was definitely not what the pictures showed. The room was super crowded the furniture was terribly worn. There were 3 towels for a 2 week stay for 3 people and was told no more available. There were no blankets for the beds. The pillows had been updated, but the nasty old ones were left in the drawers. Multiple complaints went without remark. The balcony was smoke ridden in a smoke free resort due to neighbors. The closet was filled with "junk" and cleaning materials so we could not get to the safe. It was so dirty I was afraid to try and move around. Was not our first choice and let the Air B&B locate for us. "First Mistake"
The pools were filthy looked like never cleaned. The pay for washer and dryers were out of service more than in. I will never use Big Fish Rentals nor an Air B&B. My first and last experience with them.
They should really investigate what they are representing and feel ashamed for taking our hard earned money. If I could have moved wi th hout forfeiting our money we would have upon entering. I know ty here were nice units available as we saw the beautiful, clean and nicely furnished one beside us. I also reported this to a sales representative that I rode with in the elevator. Just be cautious as I trusted the company to be honest in their help. 😥😥

We had to put towels over the blinds just to be able to sleep. The light came through all night the bedroom smells so bad of mold and must it was hard to sleep kitchen fine living space fine. Bedroom awful. The smell alone got us. I think it needs tore apart and fumigated The beds felt like we were 💤 sleeping on the floor they were so hard. At check in there are no desk people so you are on your own We had to find 4th floor then our suite 415. There were people wandering around no one knew where they were suppose to be so unorganized have never stayed any where this bad And parking. It says on site but fails to mention only 6 onsite spots the rest is across the street🤔it rained every day so we had to go across in the rain every eve. The only good thing was the price of food below in the dinning and access to the beach. I won’t be sorry to leave in the morning never to return. Renters beware😳😳😳😳😳😳

My family of 4 recently stayed at Blue Water Resort in condo 602. It was beautifully kept, clean and perfect for our family. Plenty of room and the view of the ocean was spectacular. You can see the ocean from one of the bedrooms, and from the living area and kitchen, in fact, you can see it as soon as you walk through the door! We loved the location as you are close to everything (10-15 min drive), but you can also walk to places if you needed a quick bite. Cal and Issy were fantastic hosts! They checked in with us throughout the week to make sure everything was ok. There place had everything we needed including a washer and dryer. Would totally recommend staying here, it was wonderful!

Nice getaway. We stayed in penthouse room 1503 and booked directly through Bluewater resort. We found that the unit was perfectly described and going in I was a little worried about resort, but all this was calmed by seeing the room. Here are a few takeaways that others might find helpful.

Cleanliness- the room was spotless and you could tell there was a high level of detail to each item in the room. Couch was a little dated. Common areas in property and elevators remained clean throughout the entire portion of our stay. .

Bedroom/Room overall- bedroom located right beside the door entrance. Updated standup shower. The kitchen was well stocked with nearly every kitchen item.

Parking – parking is across the street in either the garage or the parking lots besides the two villas facing the street.

Only issue with this location is that there was a sketchy/obvious drug hotel across the street(paceview)(again has nothing to do with this property but something to be aware of in your surroundings).

Overall this room was a great, directly oceanfront hotel, clean rooms, and basic amenities. Mini mart across the street and Walmart is nearby if you need anything additional.

BlueWater Resort room 1001B our new home away from home!!! Our hosts Bill and Phyllis were top notch.

I liked what I saw as soon as I found Bill & Phyllis’ listing. Everything looked clean and this place had a kitchen which was a plus for me. I wanted to be able to have breakfast and lunch on the beach. Prior to arriving the information I received from Bill and Phyllis was so detailed it actually left me without questions. So from the start communication was an A+ We were even able to make reservations for dinner off their top picks list. Upon arrival we were surprised with an early check in because they were able to get their cleaning crew in early. The check in was seem less. We were given all access codes and with that we were able to go straight up to the condo and open our door! Everything was just as I pictured it to be. The bed was clean and comfortable with white sheets which is a plus for me when sleeping out. The kitchen was spotless and fully stocked. At this position in the condo you see the view and go straight to the balcony which overlooked the pool and ocean. Every single morning from our 10th floor balcony we watched the beautiful sun rise. Our vacation was a 10 plus from the minute we booked with Airbnb and we were so happy that Bill and Phyllis were our hosts.

We’re staying at the Bluewater in Orange Beach this year. We come down 2 times a year to the area and this is the most disgusting condo we have ever stayed in. Our internet didn’t work for the first 2 days, wads of hair in the living room, sand and dirty sheets, broken garbage disposal, mold in the bathrooms, floor turned our feet black, dishwasher is all mold, just not clean what so ever.
Not just the condo itself but there has been broken glass at the pool all week and my husband got a shard in his foot as well as broken mirrors and glass in the bathrooms by the pool with no signs or warnings and my daughters went in to use the rest rooms. This morning the pool opened at 8 and the lady is still spraying the pool area with a garden hose spraying all the stuff from around the pool into the pool. Pool is disgusting. Elevators are past their service date by months. For $4,000 for 6 days we will never come back. This is our first time staying at Bluewater, just a heads up if anyone was thinking of staying here in the future. Talked to other people staying as well and they said the same about their condos.

Answer from Christy

I don't recall paying a resort fee but there is a cleaning fee which varies based on room style. I think we paid around $65 for 1 bedroom but it wasn't bad as the room was still cheaper than most. The biggest room I think is $80 cleaning fee

Unit 304 is not in our Vacation Condos Management Program. You would need to contact the company that manages that unit.
