I had an efficiency room for a staycation. The staff at the front desk, the housekeeper Jody, and the bellman, was friendly and nice. If you are just there a few nights, housekeeping includes replenishment of towels, and changing the wastebasket liners. There was a free breakfast with waffles, fruit, muffins, toast, cereals, yogurt, and muffins/sweets. I was on the tenth floor, which was good. The bathtub maybe, could use a better cleaning. The hot tub is outside, so I did not try it. A bit chilly in February. The WiFi worked well, and there is also a business center and a fitness center. The only thing is, that both times when I had questions, two different overnight clerks had no clue. One clerk sent me to the Vending for laundry detergent, instead of food/drink. The other front desk clerk could not find the TV channel sheet, that was missing from the room. The staff on other shifts, however, were efficient, and well informed. I would stay here again.

Thank you TravelchicMB, We will certainly work for our deficiencies, our desk staff is rather new, and unfortunately has not quite picked up some of the typical Q/A responses. We will work to ensure that housekeeping is bringing up the quality, and that our front desk is more knowledgeable, or is able to more quickly source an answer for you! We hope to see you again!

The Carolinian Beach Resort was a very nice hotel. During this COVID19 pandemic, they were very clean, had many hand sanitizer dispensers, staff was constantly wiping down buttons, knobs, and handles. Check-in and check-out were both simple and easy. The front desk person was very respectful and knowledgeable. We will return here on our next visit.

Two years ago I had stayed at Room 1034 at the Carolinian Resort, and had a pleasant experience. I returned back again this summer, requested the same room, and was very pleasantly surprised to find it upgraded and enhanced even further. There was state of the art porcelain stoneware tile flooring in the living room and bedroom, freshly painted walls, and brand new artwork. The room is spacious, breakfast accommodations at Magnolia's outstanding, and the all-round experience was very memorable. The Carolinian Beach Resort is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Grand Strand!

I have waited to write this review because I wanted to be fair. I have to say we had a terrible stay. In addition, our stay was echoed by many of our teammates' families, so this is not a singular experience. We were involved with a Stay and Play so this was one of the choices of places to stay. The best part of the stay was the location. It is right on the beach and within walking distance of many stores and restaurants. But, the staff is poorly trained and the condos are poorly maintained. We had no sheets on our pull out bed. The rooms were dirty and damaged. We contacted the manager who did as little as possible to mediate our issues. We had to go to security to get our bed sheets and there was no house keeping there in the evening. We had damaged furniture, fridge and bathroom toilet and tub. I have photos to prove it and I sent it to the manager. We also were on the 20th floor and one of the elevators was broken the whole stay...so long lines to get back to our room. Which was not cleaned two of the the six nights we stayed. We had to call and ask them to send someone, the staff told us it had been cleaned but we knew it had not beds were unmade and towels remained on the floor. Again, poorly trained in handling customers. Finally, I did feel bad for the staff they got complaints constantly but with little resources or support to do much. I called the front desk one night for sheets and the phone rang for over 15 minutes and no one picked up nor did it go to an automatic system to leave and email. My husband had to go to the front desk and pick up the sheets from the security guard because the front desk person didn't have a key to the housekeeping closet. Trying to end on a positive not for the most part everyone was very friendly.

We chose the Carolinian for the reasonable price for an oceanfront room, location, free parking, & the amenities. Alot of bang for the money. The room was clean, spacious, & beautiful with a lovely balcony. Beautifully landscaped, nice pool, great beach access. The parking garage is just a short block away, & you can unload right at the front entrance. Free breakfast & mini golf are just a couple of perks that come with the room. Location is great for walking to many restaurants & the boardwalk.

Our room was a one bedroom of “ suite”. We are a party of 4. We arrived about 9pm on a Friday on a busy weekend. We knew it was going to be busy because we are part of a tournament in the area. After checking in we dropped our stuff off in our room & went to park the car which is probably a block away. Arrived back the room and started to situate ourselves. We killed lthree small cockroaches in the first 20 minutes. Went to the bathroom to start putting away some of the toiletries and realize we have no toilet paper. (But there was an empty toilet paper roll and other trash underneath the sink) . It’s not a cabinet it’s open. I contacted the front desk and asked if we could have toilet paper and he told me to “come down and get it.” So I said lwe just checked in m, I’ve already killed three bugs and now you’re telling me I have to walk down to get my own toilet paper? What kind of place is this?” He said “what kind of bugs were they?” I said water bugs. He said “I’ll send someone right up”. A few minutes later a person came up and dropped off two rolls of toilet paper left. Never addressed the bugs. We killed four more before they arrived. I can not make this up. It was ridiculous. We contemplated leaving but knew there would be very few places available. The staff is less than helpful. The ocean view was beautiful. The beds were comfortable. Furniture is definitely lived i. There is no light in the bedroom except for one light lamp. There’s one mirror in the bathroom. And then there’s a full length mirror hidden awkwardly behind the door. Would I stay here again?? never never never never. There’s so many other choices available in Myrtle beach.

We certainly apologize for this seemingly poor experience. Our housekeeping department and front office staff clearly fell short of the service level we hope to achieve. We are sorry that this occurred and will work to improve.

Our stay was for a week, 11/14/20 - 11/21/20. Reserved #933 which was a nice 3 BR. Much more room than we needed but the price was good and the view to the east and south were exceptional. Furniture in good shape. A typical MB condo/hotel facility. Unit condition was good but vacuming, at MI ,was substandard. Perhaps include a broom/pan/vacum for tenants to use. No maid service available except trash and towels even though website still says service available every 4 days. We cleaned all surfaces at MI and were surprised how dirty our towel was. So much for Covid cleaning compliance. Oven and stove top were also dirty. Cig burns on BR-2 tub side should be sanded out. Good supply of dishes and glassware which is often lacking in these units. Good hall/elevator cleaning services.

Breakfast at Magnolias was very good. Serving staff should be complimented. Good food and staff. Anderson maint. staff of 2 wore no masks while changing out a tv during our breakfast. Thanks for the Covid protections!

We stayed here for sheltered hot tubs which, The Strand, our usual spot, does not have. On 1st day of our stay, 11/14/20, we reported cold temp and low water levels in the 2 tubs to office. No changes were made by 11/16/20. Stopped by front desk and were greeted by an arrogant GM named Michael Mc. who argued with us that the tubs had been closed on 10/31/20. He was caught in a lie. They were not closed and the attitude of the GM was less than professional. Perhaps he should get out of his office more and walk his property! The condo/unit owners should look into this.

PS I have been a rental Property Manager (CPM) for 35+ years.

This place sucks. The water pressure is dismal, and the water temperature changes even if you don’t move the handle in the shower. I am currently writing this at 1:00 am because my room is beside the closet for the cleaning staff and they have slammed the door about 5 times so far. The air conditioning sucks, some of the wall outlets don’t work. The shades don’t close completely so the light from the hotel next to us is shining through on my face. The elevators act sketchy most of the time, it’s ridiculous I have stayed in rode side motels that are better than this place. Don’t waste your money

We were placed in a room between the storage unit & elevator. Our sleep was continuously disrupted. Lock on door broke & we returned to the room to find our door ajar. We waited well pass 9pm for repair and changed rooms the next day which took time away from out plans. It was a nonsmoking site but we continuously complained about heavy marijuana smell. The gym had no sanitizing supplies to disinfect the equipment. The hot tub was not hot and the beach shower didn’t work. Asked for financial compensation and received an email today that said the facility addressed the issue in a timely matter. Oh and the sheets and curtains had rust stains on them. What a lie! Do NOT GO HERE! DISGUSTED!

My wife and I visited here for an impromptu New Year’s getaway and were not disappointed. We were first time visitors to this hotel in particular due to the excellent pricing we got, so we were unaware of what to expect. Upon arrival, they have ample drop off/registration parking right up front. Employees were friendly and helpful with explaining accommodations and surrounding area, and the lobby was clean and open with applicable COVID precautions present. The two (and really only) drawbacks to this property were explained right from the get-go; parking and breakfast are both off-site. However, the parking garage is free and only a block away, as is breakfast at Magnolias at 26th if you have the meals included with your stay. Both were fine, just a bit inconvenient in the rain. Pro Tip: ask the front desk if the City is charging for public parking, they were not when we were there so you could park considerably easier than in-season. The room was clean and comfortable and the HVAC unit worked well, which is refreshing versus some of the hotels on the strip. There was a heated pool and lazy river as well as a hot tub that were all covered, enclosed, or both so we were able to enjoy them despite rain and some chilly wind. Overall would recommend and will likely return!
