It was our 22 year wedding anniversary and had an amazing time. Plenty to do right at the hotel. We enjoyed the bowling alley each night and breakfast in the restaurant every morning. Staff were amazing and always greeted with a smile. Housekeeping made sure we had plenty of towels and also went as far when done room clean to place the extra linen from the other bed onto the bed we were using as I had them before they cleaned. We will be back this time in more of an on season then off.
Entertainment Zone including a bowling ally and arcade is great. Chicken wings at the grill were good. Nice indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, ping pong and indoor playground. Breakfast was good. Staff were kind. Need softer towels.
We had a wonderful stay last March! The resort and room were beautiful, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had just stayed a week at a different resort where we were not happy, then we stayed one night at Coral Beach and wished we had stayed there the entire time. We wanted to stay on the balcony the entire time, but it was chilly when we went so we stayed in the living room and still had full view of the ocean the entire time. The balconies are large, the rooms are large and the full kitchen is convenient. The bathrooms are a very nice size and We love Coral Beach SO much, we bought an oceanfront condo, #1132 in August! If you go, and want that specific unit, be sure to tell them that you want that specific unit. It is right in the middle, oceanfront, and the 2nd to top floor (almost the Penthouse)! The onsite management company takes care of it perfectly for us and rents out most of the year, so we don't have any headaches. We have been back since our first stay, and have only seen it spotless and with everything in working order when we had it with the onsite management company. They watch everything very closely and we have never had any issues. We made the tremendous mistake of trying an offsite management company for less than a month, and that resulted in approximately $6000 in damages for us that were not recovered from any guests. We have stayed at several resorts in Myrtle Beach, and at some other resorts we only had one pool and one hot tub to choose from, but even on a rainy or cold day, there is SO much to do at Coral (bowling, sports bar, the downstairs pools, hot tubs, sauna, steam room) that a family can stay busy and end the day tired and happy. Some friends of ours (family of 5) went and visited the week after us, and it was a little cold (early March), but they still had a fantastic time and wanted to go back as soon as they were home. It is a great place for adults, and it is one of the more upscale, nice resorts (we traveled as a couple, but also have young grandchildren). But, it is also perfect for families, especially in the summer. The kids waterpark is perfect because you can lay in shallow water and still watch the kids. We could not be happier. Now we can go often, enjoy all of the wonderful amenities and relax when we need to, and so can others!…
Great apartment with stunning ocean views. Laundry facility 5*. Beds comfortable and facilities really good. Would recommend. Lots of places to eat nearby and very easy to park. The kitchen was well fitted if you want to self cater. Separate Lounge area with additional pull down bed if needed. Great balcony
Our family of five travels to various beaches on the southeastern coast. Of all of our trips, our stay at the Coral Beach Resort was by far the worst. To the point that we even left early, despite having already paid for a longer stay. The hotel is super old and incredibly dirty. When you walk into the rooms you feel like you’ve stepped into a rundown motel from the 80s. On top of the overall dirty and dated look, in our room alone the toilet would only flush periodically and ran constantly, the microwave wouldn’t close, and the refrigerator motor made this loud whirring sound and barely cooled. There were old toys and leftover trash from a previous tenant peeking out from under the couch. If the room had been cleaned, it was a quick, surface-level tidy. Right on the hotel beachfront there are large drains where the stormwater from the street drains into the ocean…there is a tiny sign cautioning you to steer clear of this waste water but countless kids were playing in it. I encourage you to Google the storm water run off on Myrtle Beach. Ick. All that to say, if you are looking for a relaxing family vacation, I would STEER CLEAR of this place. They tout that they were voted some kind of best resort by the Travel Channel a few years ago…all I can say is I don’t think anybody from the Travel Channel actually came and stayed in one of the rooms?!?…
Very nice resort and amazing view from our room, clean rooms, will visit again. Didn’t get to see everything but seemed to have everything that you would need on a resort for you and your family. Great pools
Great accommodations, location, amenities! Would definitely go again. Multiple things to do without ever leaving the resort! Clean, comfortable rooms, fresh towels provided without even asking, courteous staff!
Our family summer vacation was such a disappointment at Coral Beach. The summer rates were sky high for an old and somewhat rundown hotel. Your first step off their back steps onto the beach was greeted with scattered cigarette butts. And if you drive a pickup truck, beware because parking will be a nightmare for your entire stay. My Ram 1500 was too tall for the garage. They have upper level parking but refuse to reserve those spots for taller vehicles. When I asked where I should park, they told me I had to pay for parking streetside. I drive my truck down a sketchy side street to park one evening and was greeted by to shady people living out of their SUV in the spot beside mine. I wasn’t exactly comfortable leaving my truck there overnight. This is all a management issue; all they need to do is erect a sign in the upper deck: “reserved for taller vehicles.” Housekeeping was pretty much non-existent the entire week and the on-site food outlets were average. We do one big family trip a year, and this was a big disappointment.…
Employees were friendly, and accommodating. Room was comfortable, large and we lacked for nothing. Good hot water. Strong shower. We only had breakfast which was excellent and employees beyond friendly.
For our anniversary we decided to stay here because of the reviews. Our stay was pretty good. However, there was a lot to be desired. Pros: -Good Value -Vouchers are worth it -Great location -Hot Tub -Heated pool -great mix drinks (Get the bucket!) -Bowling was fun Cons: -Air Conditioners don't work well -Beds were hard -Elevator programming is not that great -Carpets could be cleaner Notes (not good or bad): -Please wash your dishes before you use them! -Gratuity is included in all food and drink purchases. -The breakfast is good. It's definitely better than Hampton Inn, but not as good as Denny's. Overall, I'd say go for it if you're looking for a good value!
