I was told a price on phone including my pet and the front desk added $10 extra pet fee 2 of my 3 day stay. I am waiting on corporate to fix this and they said it can take a week for someone to call me that can help. Unacceptable! I have
room didn't get serviced and the guy at the front desk on Saturday was very rude. hotel as a whole was not clean and smelled. have been staying here twice a year for the last 5 years but plan on this being my last time. already looking for another venue for next year.
As evacuees from Hurricane Florence with our dog, our choices for hotels were slim. We booked this place for 2 nights, but knew we'd have to get out as soon as we walked in the front door. Of course with their policy, we couldn't get a refund. We stayed one night. It was like a horror movie. Here's a brief rundown: 1. Non-Smoking room simply means there are no ash trays in the room. The smell of smoke in our room was so strong it almost made me puke. The furniture had numerous burn marks. If this is a non-smoking room, it needs fumigation. 2. Speaking of the furniture, Goodwill would reject the pieces in our room. 3. Walls are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING going on in the hallways, which are interior in this hotel. There were people coming and going all night long and they were quite loud. 4. While the rug was clean, my wife was happy to see a pest exterminator walking the hallway on our floor. 5. Our bathroom was just gross with a leaking faucet. 6. They have a laundry for guests but no soap. The washing machine was so grubby I feared my clothes would come out of it filthier than when they'd gone in. 7. I was happy to see my car wasn't stolen overnight. This is a desolate area right off the highway. 8. We decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. The lobby didn't seem clean.
This was my second stay at a Super 8 in the past 8 days. They are cheap because the buildings are old. My advice is to spend a few dollars more and skip this chain.
Although some reviewers are not happy with this Super 8, my wife and I were very satisfied. But, we did not come with expectations beyond the basics, i.e., clean, affordable, reasonably quiet, outside pool, and a quickie basic continental breakfast. Our room was nice, had a larger than expected fridge, and was clean-----a MUST! The air conditioner was louder than we like, but it did work well. On a very positive note, there was a coffee maker and coffee, These seem to be disappearing as amenities at many hotels. The location is a bit off the main highway. So, keep your eyes open!
When I pulled up to the super 8 I wasn’t expecting a 5 star hotel by any means but I was so disappointed by how nasty it looked from the outside. Nonetheless I walked in and instantly was on my phone looking for a different place to stay- sadly no other place was available. I walked up to the front desk and the lady who checked me in had an awful attitude and was so rude. I shrugged that off and went up to my room. Talk about instantly disgusted! The bed had burn holes in all of the sheets and the top blanket, there was a hole in the wall, I was dead set on not staying here. I went to the store and bought new sheets and new pillows and a new comforter just to convince myself to stay since the only other option was my car at this point... I also bought my own bug spray and Lysol because the room was just nasty. I would never recommend anyone to stay here!
