This was one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. Located right on the beach, great food on property and excellent staff. GM Carlos and his staff are friendly, helpful and make you feel wwelcome. Beautiful room and view! Thanks everyone !!
This resort is beautiful on the inside. Despite the the expected light noise of work being done to improve the guest parking lot, its very understandable. They work diligently & consistently with keeping this resort clean. I appreciate the staff and the effort they put forth in maintaining this property to the best of their ability. The front desk staff (Jamea) was very friendly & helpful upon my arrival. My room was very clean & cozy. My beautiful ocean view, enhanced my appreciation even more for Jehovah's creation ! The Draft bar wings were delicious & the BeachSide Bistro had great snacks & Ice cream, the girls were sweet and very nice. Thanks Christina & all the staff there and the staff on the property, very friendly & helpful and thank you to the ones that check on you through text to make sure your needs are met. Westgate’s marketing partner called me and offered me a dirt cheap room in exchange for my participation in a timeshare presentation. Okay fine. Check-in was fine. The hotel side of the resort is 2.5-3 stars at best. Im a solo traveler but I was given a room with two beds. It does face the ocean though which is nice. The location is nice, near the amusement park and water park (both closed for the season because its late october) First night im lying in bed and what i believe is a roach fell on my chest. I removed all the blankets from the bed looking to squish it and found lots of particles in the sheets (no clue what they were dont want to know). I got new sheets the next day but i had to change them myself due to covid protocols. My shower didnt drain so i had a full tub of water by the time i was done. This was fixed pretty quickly though. Main pool is either not heated or heat wasnt on, the water is freezing. And the pool bar is apparently not open in late October? The lazy river is heated though and is nice. Also Drafts closes at 9pm, like why? The timeshare presentation is an absolute zoo. My sales rep Sherell was amazing but the manager came out and attempted to first bully me in to purchasing and then guilt me in to it by telling me this is how they make their living, as if that was my problem. Be wary of the manager(s). I had to say no approximately 12 times before I was finally signed out from this 3.5 hour torture that was supposed to be 90 minutes If you can rent from an owner and stay here by all means do. But I’d never come back here.…
Another week done at westgate myrtle beach for our yearly trip . Weather was ok not to hot not to cold . As for the resort still no outdoor hot tub . Not sure why but not one person wants to give me a straight answer . It's been boarded up for at least 3 years now . My man Hassan once again took great care of us at coconut Willy's and Drafts . He is the man no doubt ! My opinion the face of Westgate ! Keep up the great work Hassan!!
During check-in the desk clerks didn't work with us to accommodate with a lower floor due to military disability. Having to deal with triggers is not a good way to spend your vacation. On our first night, before retiring for the night our daughter prepared her baby’s bottles on the kitchen counter. At the time of the baby’s first feeding, our daughter saw many live and dead roaches on the kitchen counter around the bottle station, dishwasher and trash can (see attach pictures). Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience with Westgate. We stayed only one night - checking out early the following morning. So, our vacation ended early due to the filthy accommodations. When I reported this incident to the front desk the clerk didn't seem surprised of our findings. Our past vacations with Westgate properties have always been positive. Perhaps…this is the new Westgate. .....…
After a timeshare tour at Myrtle Beach Westgate resorts, I decided to come back to celebrate my birthday. I made a reservation thinking that I would be able to stay where I toured. They booked me at Westgate hotel , and I was told that there were no vacancies at the new Westgate towers. Total deception!!!! The hotel and the towers are as different as day and night!!! I begin to make phone calls and asked that emails be sent to the managers. I waited from 7 PM at 9:30 To receive a room in Westgate Resort Towers. Total deception!! I am a former owner at Westgate resorts in the state of Florida, my experiences were superb!!!! There is no way I would purchase a timeshare at this resort!!! Totally disappointed customer !!
This was our first time in myrtle Beach. We are owners in Branson but we are trying out the different resorts. We will definitely be back. Everyone was so friendly especially the best bartender ever!!!! I know I won’t spell his name right but sounds like Husain took me a while to figure out his name as I thought he said Jose’ lol any way he has been there for I think he said 24 years and he was the best!! We all had a great time
Loved the resort, but hated the check-in process. I had booked and prepaid for a block of five rooms for my family. Everything was prepaid two days before we arrived. My son and his pregnant wife were turned away because they could not find his reservation. My daughter was also turned away because they could not find her reservation. My husband and I arrived about an hour later, at which point they located the reservations after I spent 45 minutes calling the main reservation number. Keep in mind everything was PREPAID. That is not where the problems ended. Check-in time was 4 o'clock my husband and I arrived at 5, the room was not ready, and we had to wait 2 hours for our room to be prepared. The following day, the "concierge" calls my room and invites our entire group to a complimentary lunch "Marvin" evidently is a "concierge" however, "concierge" is code for timeshare salesman. Suffice to say we did not accept the comp lunch. Totally a disappointment. The check-in process was horrible, and really put a bad taste in my mouth for the resort. - [ ] We left the Westgate Myrtle Beach Ocean Front resort a few hours ago. Reservations # 16242421 & 16242422. We are owners of a Westgate timeshare and must say we are extremely disappointed with this Myrtle Beach location. As another review mentioned, the staff is impolite, the hotel is filthy, and they will charge you things after you leave that do not make sense. We had two rooms under my name and both were in different buildings- which is annoying giving we were two families with young kids that wanted to be together. One of the rooms was super dirty with cheese in the freezer and hair in the bathroom (pics attached for reference). We flagged this to several people (concierge, in house manager, receptionist, via SMS, etc) and it wasn’t until we got really upset that we had the room fully cleaned because this obviously has not been done after the previous guest left. Otherwise, please do note they will not clean the rooms during your stay due to Covid (at least this is the official message but I assume the real reason is that they are short staffed) and when I asked for the cleaning supplies to do it myself, they only brought a broom the size of a Melissa & Dug cleaning toy set - not even a real size broom and a dustpan. So, be prepared to have to clean with it the sand or others during your stay regardless of the length of your visit. Also, we brought a dog with us and paid a pet fee for it. Reviewing now the statement of the charges we noticed they charged the pet fee to both rooms. We called to ask for an explanation and we were told they assumed the pet was in both rooms, so they charged the fee to both - even when the dog never left our room except for its regular walks outside the hotel complex. So, I will be expecting the refund of the second fee that, without authorization, they charged to our credit cards. So, to recap: they do not do a deep cleaning between guests, they do not clean at all during your visit, do not offer cleaning supplies, if you ask for cleaning supplies they bring you a broom that seems from a toy set, the staff is rude, they will charge things that do not make sense, and it is expensive as any other resort in the area. We paid almost $4k for the two rooms for 5 evenings. So, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. We did it here since we thought we were going to have a similar experience to what we have had at other Westgate Resorts but it was not the case. So, it is not worth the investment. Thanks…
Everything at your feet: beach, pools, banana boat and parasailing in the ocean. Room was clean - had an ocean view hotel room (as other space is Timeshare dedicated). Cons: kids in hallways running and shouting after midnight. Complained after day 1 and it has diminished (suggest ear plugs or a few glasses of wine).
