Just spent Christmas week 2024 at this hotel to be with family who live in the area. We have stayed at their North end hotel many times over the years. The hotel is older; it has been in this spot since I began coming to Myrtle Beach in the early eighties. The condo building next door was built in the nineties. I don't choose hotels for their decor. I want clean, quiet and attentive staff and I got that at this location. Housekeeping was at our door daily...even on Christmas Day...to make sure we had everything we needed. On Google, many people commented staff was unfriendly. That was not my experience. Professional and pleasant, they accommodated any request I had during my stay. My room was very clean and we had hot water anytime we turned on the tap. We had a side ocean view room and had no problems sitting on our balcony with our beach view. Yes, kitchen appliances are old, room furniture is old and outdated. So is the furniture in my home...again, not choosing a place for the decor. It was comfortable and other than some occasional noise in the hallway from kids going to and coming from their room, I never heard my neighbors. Bedding was clean, towels were blindingly white. The hotel is located near the end of Ocean Blvd which puts it very near Market Commons and all the shopping and restaurants. For any fisherman interested, Springmaid Pier, 2nd Ave pier and the pier at the state park are close by. The hotel shares amenities with the condo building, so there are pools, a lazy river and kiddie splash pads available. The hotel has a restaurant that unfortunately had closed for the season but will reopen in Feb 2025. I have read and heard many good reviews about it. Beach access is between the buildings. We had a great week and this will be our go to spot as long as they keep prices reasonable for my budget. The only complaint I have and it is very minor but the WiFi reception is terrible. I solved the problem with my phone by disconnecting and using LTE but my husband had brought our laptop to use for personal business and was unable to do much because of how slow the connection was. Personally, I saw this as a cue to disconnect but others may not be as willing as I was to step away for a week

Our stay at holiday sands south was not the best. We have not been to beach in over 10 years so we did not know what to expect. Upon making reservations we requested a condo on a low level. We was told our condo would be on first floor. When arriving for check in around 3:30 our room was not ready they asked to pay amount in full and our condo would be on the third floor. That's not what we asked for. The clerk said she would call when room was done. After driving for 4 hours they finally called at 4:30 we was able to check into our room. The condo was nice than expected but upon checking the bed sheets they has 2 sets of sheets on bed which covered stained sheets from previous people who stayed. This was disgusting!! The inside pools looked dirty mainly the LAZY river. Finally the work crew men came around to check for a leaks they knocked and did not give you time to come to door they was getting ready to use key to freely come that's not PRIVATE!! Will not stay again

First, I'd like to give credit to Amy at the front desk. She went above and beyond and was absolutely amazing!! Very accommodating and easy to work with. Laney was a big help too. The condo I stayed in was very clean, so I'd like to give props to the cleaning ladies! It was also nice to have daily service as far as fresh towels, trash, etc. All staff was excellent. I stayed for 5 nights. For the first 3 nights it was great... On the 4th day, the man across the hall in 1219 started causing problems. He cornered my husband in the hallway and was telling him how he started a fire in the building last year and how his father is on the board so he can do whatever he wants when he wants. He told him how the neighbors come over and cattle prod him nightly. It made us uncomfortable to say the least. On the last night we stayed, at 6 am in the morning (we were still sound asleep) the fire alarm started going off and we all had to evacuate the building. When we exited the condo to evacuate the building, the man across the hall was standing there with a fire extinguisher in one hand and he was smoking a cigarette with the other. We went to the lobby and the man at the front desk apologized to us, but told us there's nothing he can do about that man because his father is on the board and they own the condo. While in the lobby, we overheard that this man across the hall was the one who set off the alarm. We had a flight out that day and were disturbed at 6am for absolutely nothing but ridiculous behavior. This man is obviously suffering from a mental health disorder and is unmedicated. It's a true shame because next time, the fire could be worse.

Needless to say, this obviously left a bad taste in my mouth for future stays. We'll have to see. I'd love to stay again, our room was great, staff was great, everything was great except for this man that truly ruined our last day and a half. He had things thrown all over the hallway, making noise out in the hallway all hours of the night, etc. It got old really quickly.

Clean & friendly Atmosphere! Enjoyed my stay in the Oceanfront Suite! Staff was great! Housekeepers came by every morning to see if we needed our suite cleaned or if we needed clean linens! Parking was very convenient! I will definitely stay @ Holiday Sands again!😊

Our stay at theHoliday Sands South was very dissappointing. The light in the bathroom did not work out entire stay and we were told by the front desk to just keep flicking it until it turned but it never did. So we had to shower and use the bathroom in the dark all weekend. The TV in the room did not work upon checkin, it was replaced with a small TV with a crack going right down the middle of the screen. The replacement TV wasn't replaced until the night before we left. On the last night of our stay my family and I were awaken at 5 am by the sound of loud music coming from next door. I was told by the front desk that there was nothing they could do and that they would send someone up in a few hours after maintenance arrived. At checkout Amy was very understanding and told the manager Mike about our stay. We were told that Mike would be in touch with us. Mike nor any other manager never contacted us or addressed our concerns. We spent a lot of money for horrible service and accommodations and we never stay here again.

Ok we checked in Saturday July 16th went to the front desk the girl that check us in was sweet. Went to the room inspection of it we was very disappointed we stayed in condo 1003. The pictures below tells some of the story. When I went down Saturday to asked to be moved they told me they had no rooms call in the morning. I asked to stay then get my money to go else where and was told no refunds from the rude old man at the desk I hear he has been there 18 years and always gets complaints. So we stayed and every morning the kids got up not feeling well stuffy & sore throat there was mold through out the unit!!

We booked this trip with 11 families. This property is a disaster! Only 2 of my 4 beds had linens, I called the front desk but never received any. My linens were never changed for my 9 day stay, the housekeeper was very nice when she told me to wash my towels. There was a broom in the room so at least I could sweep daily. There was an actual pile of poop on the pool ledge that was there 2 days! The pool was extremely cloudy.A couple was able to get into our room with their key card! We’re warned by multiple staff to not let our kids out of our sight because kids go missing!! There are people that live there and one lady got evicted, knocked one one of our families door asking to watch over her personal property. Our kids saw people injecting themselves in the parking garage. The view from the balcony is beautiful but over run with the smell of marijuana. Calls to the front desk on multiple occasions went unanswered. When I notified the front desk in person I was told “well some of those rooms over there aren’t ours”. The doors to the building were not secure, you could just walk in and the gates to the parking garage were open the whole July 4th weekend. The fire alarms went off multiple times but you can’t hear them in your room, only in the halls. Positive - the restaurant - J Mikes-great food!

This place is nothing fancy. We have stayed here in a few occasions. It has a nice sun deck and a reasonably priced restaurant. The staff is always friendly. It is clean. I like to go were there is stuff to do. This one has an indoor and out door pool with a small play area inside for kids also a hot tub. If I'm looking to kick back and entertain myself I will come here. If I'm looking for some excitement and entertainment I go else wear.

We have stayed here several times in a condo and the staff is always great to work with. We had to change our week to come due to several situations and it was no problem to switch our week. We were able to get the same type of condo room. They always try to honor our request for a condo room on the 5th floor or above. The first morning there we discovered that the bathtub was slowly draining and called to have maintenance take care of it. They came out promptly to clear the blockage. They also took care of a problem with the TV in the front room. I appreciate the fact that kitchen is well stocked and there is a washer and dryer to use.
We enjoy using the pool, hot tub and lazy river. Also, there are lounge chairs to use on the property as well as tables with umbrellas and chairs.

Our stay at the Holiday Sands South in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was full of the expected rest and relaxation, warm ocean breezes, hot sun sprinkled with pool time and comfortable accommodations; however, the stars of the vacation were the staff that made this one of the best get-aways we’ve experienced. Every staff person we met was friendly, professional, and always willing to meet our needs. Amy and Tim were especially AWESOME as they poured kindness and fun into every day. They went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We left with friends and can’t wait to return.
