We arrived for a week stay. The carpet was dirty in our living room and i found potato chips under the couch. Evidently the pools are short staffed so the kids pool with the lazy river closed early at like 6 or 7 everyday. They also say they are closed from 2 to 3 for cleaning everyday but we didnt see anyone cleaning. The grounds have changed there are no longer grills on the playground area. Everything seemed different almost like they have been bought out by a investment company. Elevators were slow we were in the renassiance bldg on the 22nd floor so it took forever and they smelled weird. Shower knobs are extremely hard to turn you have to use a wet wash cloth to get a grip of it. It feels like its going to break. The bar food at the bar out by the beach is crazy expensive. If we hadn't had a gift card we wouldnt have eaten there most entrees are $12 and up. Appetizers are expensive as well. I got 2 mixed drinks and got $3 back so $17 for 2 drinks. The grounds are pretty well kept. Getting in and out of this place is a nightmare the roads are all jacked up because its in between two camper parks. We tried to let our kids sing karokee 2 or 3 nights but they never called there name to sing. It seemed like the same people sing over and over so they were disappointed with that. I just don't feel like it was worth 2,000 especially when ammenities werent operating on regular schedules.

Thank you for your feedback. It is regretful to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. Our rental agency does not operate nor run the resort amenities nor the eateries, but I will do my best to address your concerns. I do not know which agency or homeowner you rented from, but do hope you notified them of their housekeeper's oversights as well as the shower handle so they could take care of that for you. I am sure they were more than happy to do so. The pool hours were 10a-6p daily for several of the pools most of the summer season due to covid restrictions and requirements. There are a few others that were 10a - 11p daily. However they are now all open until 11 pm daily weather permitting since this past weekend. They do close each day for a sanitizing process that is required by law for covid requirements. The time they close for that can vary as time, weather, and other maint services permit. We do hope these restrictions will be lifted soon and the resort HOA can go back to normal operations. The resort contains all individually owned condos and is managed by a Homeowner's Association put in place by the actual homeowners. There is no investment company. There are still grilling and picnic areas throughout the entire resort, although some have changed in size or location as new amenities have been added. Again, we do not run the resort nor the restaurants onsite, but the pricing you are mentioning sounds right on par for Myrtle Beach area restaurants and bars. We will be happy to pass along your feedback to the resort HOA for review. We do hope that you will consider trying Myrtle Beach Resort again in the future once these covid measures have changed and things get back to normal. Thanks again for your feedback.

Reserved our 2 bedroom condo on Groupon 2 months before our trip. 2 days before the trip started we were sent an email that they had moved us to a different suite in a different building. Our new room has some problems. The pullout sofa was busted in several places and was unable to be used as a pullout bed. The curtains were shredded and cut to pieces. Three thermostat was missing parts. The jetted bathtub in the master bedroom when turned on shot mettle shards out the jet cutting my wife on her legs. They're were other problems from home in walls, yellow stained pillows and mattresses to warped and cracked areas of the floor. The location was amazing, Great Ocean views, Two bedrooms was awesome especially with kids. Loved the kitchen and dining area. Was very spacious and relaxing. Amenities in the building were a indoor and outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. They had tennis courts, Basketball court, Fitness Center and A lounge that served drinks and small food. Kids loved walking out the door and onto the Atlantic Ocean Beach. Great amenities and a great weekend. This was a rental condo from the owners through a rental company. Clearly they're want much up keep done by the owners and the company renting it out to it easy on cleanliness. Our original room was under construction which is why we were switched to a new one atthe last minute. Doesn't explain the lack of care to the room though.

We are Myrtle Beach Resort Vacations, one of several rental agencies that manage some of the condos at the Myrtle Beach Resort. We do not list our condos on Groupon, but Trip Advisor did not want to reach out to you and ask you to place the review on the listing associated with the agency you actually rented from. Although we did not do any business with you, we do regret to hear you had a condo that sounds as though it needed some attention. We do recommend that you share this feedback with the agency you rented from so they can pass it on to the people who actually own it. Hopefully they will then make the necessary repairs to get that condo back up to par. It sounds as though you enjoyed your overall stay, just not that condo. For future rentals, feel free to reach out to us as an alternate choice for Myrtle Beach Resort condos. We do offer pictures and assist you with choosing one that will meet your tastes and needs.

The room itself was clean. There was nothing in the room about the wifi, nor the cable (not to mention one of the TVs only powers onto the Visio start screen, the other one worked).
The room had a coffee machine, however, the hotel doesn't provide coffee.

Thank you for sharing our feedback. We provide our guests information about the wifi and the cable in your check in folder that your keys are in at check in as well as in the resort directory in your condo. We are also available onsite 7 days a week to assist with any issues in your condo such as the cable. We do only have the ability to access the condos we manage. If you rented your condo through another agency or an owner, I would not know if or where they provide that info, but you are always welcome to stop by the office onsite and we can provide that info to you even if you are not renting from us. We do hope you will return again soon!

We were given two keys to the room. One person with us used their key to unlock the room. After getting settled in our room we took one of the keys with us down to the pool because we all went together. When we returned to the room we found that the key with us had never been magnetized. We then had a good walk down in our wet bathing suits to the front office to get another key so we could get back to our room-they we’re closed. We had to talk to the people at the guard gate. They were able to get security to unlock our room for us. The next day we returned to the front office to get another key. I told the person who waited on us (turns out it happened to be the manager) our room number and that we needed another key. She rudely says ok?! Who are you?!! Told her our name. She then reads off a name. We look on in confusion. We say that the person staying there is “_____” “______”. She says Oh no you’re not!! Ain’t nobody staying in that room!! The conversation continues and she eventually realized she was looking at the week before and not the current date. She said didn’t we give you two?! I calmly said one didn’t work so we got locked out and had to talk the gate house guard to call security guard to let us in. She said NO you didn’t!!! There’s a number on the office door! They’re supposed to call me! I’m the manager! I just smile back at her. So she gave us our room key and didn’t even apologize for her rudeness…I’m simply trying to just get a room key that works not even raising a fuss at all and here I am getting treated like a piece of trash. We then wanted to make sure we weren’t being charged the $100 fee they typically charge when you get locked out. She said oh no we won’t charge you, I was never called so we won’t charge you. Wow so had we had our phone with us and called that number we would’ve been charged $100 because they gave us a defective key! Customer service at its finest there.

My husband and I stayed in Room 1202 in the Renaissance Tower. The property is easy to find using GPS and the directional signs on the property are very helpful. The property is huge and has lots to offer families of any size with children of all ages. It is a beautiful property that is well maintained. My review is for the Renaissance Tower only as we did not visit the other properties on-site.
Walking into the building, there is a fitness area, laundry area, and a small pool. You are living with locals so the people are friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. The hallways are long with rooms on each side. The carpet is a bit dated and the walls / decor could use some refreshing. Our room was a studio and was perfect for 2 people. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware, utensils, plates, glasses. It was wonderful to see a dishwasher because I cook our meals and I hate washing dishes. The full size refrigerator was a nice surprise since most studios have compact size appliances. The room was clean and inviting. The bathroom was very clean and had plenty of towels. The queen size bed was so comfortable.
The downside to the condo was the placement of the bed. The actual placement is perfect but the walls around the bed were so tight that it left no room to get into the bed from the side; you have to crawl into the bed from the bottom. This is not a problem but worth noting.
The other downside is the TV. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the TV needs to be on HDMI3 and sometimes the cable box does not turn on with the remote so you may need to turn in the cable box manually. The cable box is located behind the TV.
One more downside is the no pet policy. We are looking to rescue a small dog and the no pet policy was a disappointment. The property is located between two campgrounds so watching the dogs on the beach was so cute. I highly recommend reading the pet policy before you book because the $600 penalty charge to your card would be a terrible surprise if you didn’t know about the pet policy. As a note, registered service animals are allowed.
All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay and I would certainly return.

This was my 3rd time going to this resort and this was another great time. Although only 1 outdoor pool was open (not sure why it wasn’t the largest one) but for the reasons of safety, I can’t complain. The resort is following all Covid 19 safety guidelines and I was so impressed with all they are doing. Hand sanitizer dispenser in all elevators, sanitizing pool and lazy river before, mid day and after we all go in. Sanitizing tubes in lazy river as they are returned. Beach is beautiful, clean, and not cold at all. I recommend a private rental, but that is from my experience. Usually nicer and cheaper if you rent from owner vs Resort. Beachfront condos are smaller units but view is priceless! 2 bedroom partial views are great for large families and still give a side view of beach! I prefer the A or B building because there are more elevators. Lower the room #, closer to beach it is. A505 for example is A building- Beachfront. A-545 is going to still have balcony, but will be closer to back of Building and probably have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths! Have a Great Vacation!

Thank you for this very informative review. Although you did not rent from us at the resort, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. You are correct that sometimes renting from an owner is less expensive; sometimes it is not. That said, our rental agency manages about 250 out of the 997 condos onsite and that alone allows guest trying to reserve an easier booking experience. Our specials do often allow our rates to be competitive. We always have advertised specials, but never be afraid to call and ask about non-advertised specials that our friendly staff can offer you as well. In addition, our staff are located onsite 7 days a week and are on call 24hrs a day for any issues you may encounter during your stay. We appreciate your return patronage at the resort, we just ask that you give us a try as well. You may just be pleasantly surprised. Please return again soon!

We stayed here a year ago and had a good experience. This time we were in a different building closer to the ocean, and the result was much worse. Seems like the buildings close to the ocean don’t have a good handle on humidity/mold control measures. I mean, come on, you’re oceanfront! This is going to be an issue to keep up with. The bathroom floor was so water damaged, the subfloor was in need of replacement. The vinyl floor was now structural and you had to step on the floor beams. Half of us left with sinus infections and sore throats. They did provide an air filter and a discount, but if I’d known about this we wouldn’t have gone. You can smell the mold walking from the beach and between buildings.
On the corona virus front, they had all pools shut down except for the kiddie area and lazy river. If the cleaning needs and virus concerns were the real reason for this, it definitely wasn’t social distancing, therefore negating any steps taken. This was a downfall for our family, particularly with the heatwave we experienced while there. The kiddie pools became human tea cups with the intense heat and shallow water. Adding insult to injury, you could hear the water park of the neighboring campground, fully open and functional.

Thank you for your feedback. The condos at the resort are each privately owned therefore condition can vary. We only manage about 250 out of the 997 condos at the resort. Although we do not have any say in the style of furnishings each owner chooses, we do have the ability to address any serious maintenance concerns such as structural floor damage. Based on your feedback, I am guessing you either rented from an individual owner or from some other rental agency with either fewer rooms, or lower maintenance standards than ours. With approximately 250 condos, we would have happily moved you to a different condo for an issue such as this. We apologize that you had to endure anything like that. We do hope that the owner of that condo has since addressed those issues. In reference to the pools, it seems you may have not realized there were also two other pools open at the resort. The outdoor pool at the Renaissance Tower and the indoor pool located at Ocean Spa Bldg B are also open in addition to the kiddie pool and lazy river. The only pools that are closed due to restrictions in place due to Covid - 19 are the ocean front pool at the Seabreeze building and the and the Five Seasons pools. I am unsure of what info was given to you by who you rented from. It seems that would have been helpful information for you and your family. We give guests who rent from our office a folder at check in with a resort map in it and personally show our guests which amenities are open. For summertime guest volume it has been a challenge to maintain the social distancing regulations. The MBR HOA did hire staff to assist with this, however some of that is the personal responsibility of each individual whether they are at our pools, or the water park at a nearby resort, or on the beach. We know that you had a pleasant stay in the past and can see how things can vary according to the individual condo you choose to rent. We hope that with this information that maybe you will review other avenues to choose your rental at this resort in the future. For our guests have the ability to review online details and pictures in addition to speaking with our friendly reservations team to gather as much detail as possible to help you choose a condo that will meet your personal needs, standards, and budget. In addition, our staff is available onsite 7 days a week to assist you if you have any issues during your stay. We would love to assist you with your future stays at the resort.

I rented a condo based on MB Resort description/pictures and rating stated by Reservation desk. The condo was not in said or advertised (picture) condition upon arrival. We checked out EARLY 7/8 due to unsatisfactory conditions of condo - the master bathroom was misleading, the master bedroom covers soiled and the roaches in the kitchen and master bedroom which made it impossible for me to sleep. I made a complaint upon turning in keys. I was advised to email my complaint and pictures to Sharon [--]. On 7/12 I received a "form" reply with no additional follow up regarding my concerns or request for refund of the 3 days we checked out early.
Also, misleading is that there are 3 pools open. 1 is a Kiddie pool. I don't have small children. 1 is an indoor pool. Not my ideal for 4th of July. 1 pool open with limited guests allowed. No chairs at any pool. The pool near the beach is closed. To rent chairs on the beach was $45/day. This information was not disclosed during reservation making or check in.
The Myrtle Beach Resort has exhibited poor Customer Service continually with my concerns and requests for a 3 day refund. Renter BEWARE!

Stayed ahead of the July 4th holiday. First off, the rooms are very dated with a stale, stagnant air in the hallway. Secondly the internet is terrible! If you are looking to get any work done or stream any media...it will be hit or miss. I used my phone's service most of the time and tethered my computer and tablet to my phone so I could access the internet. Likewise the TVs in the rooms also had technical issues likely due to the internet and would not work during busy hours in the evening so don't count on being able to watch anything.
The so-called lazy river is about the size of a kiddie pool.
Be prepared to walk through lots of geese poop during your stay. While they are nice to look at once in a while, they are everywhere and their poop is everywhere walking around the resort.
The food on property was sub par and the evenings are loud due to the nightly music from the restaurant on property.
Overall did not have a welcoming vibe and will not be returning.
