If you are travelling with a dog and want a great view of the ocean, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, move on to your next choice.
Due to COVID-19, all room cleaning services were suspended (without informing us up-front). We were there 10 nights, and not one room cleaning. We had to go to front desk for towel exchanges, toiletries, coffee, everything. They did not even have luggage carts available for guest use because " we can't keep them sanitized.”
We could have lived with all of this due to these unusual pandemic times, but staff didn't follow the basic rules of mask wearing and not sharing the elevator with guests. Also no enforcement at all of guests wearing masks either. If the mask wearing riles don't apply, just how seriously are they really taking the whole pandemic thing anyway? We felt that the suspension of services was something they just wanted to do anyway and just blamed the pandemic.
Front desk staff was pretty friendly and generally wore masks. Maintenance staff not at all. Judging from the cleanliness of the hallways and other common areas, not certain how much room cleaning service would have mattered anyway. However, it must be stated that the room was pretty clean on arrival. We only saw one small roach (in the tub) on our first night, and never any bug afterwards. That’s really good for any large beach resort area during the summer, so there really is no problem with bugs.
The ocean view is great and the pool/hot tub facilities were nice. (Though, the woman at the pool area who gave out towels is a chronic complainer.) It's great that they allow dogs, and the on-site pet spa (separate business) was really great and so convenient.

We appreciate you taking the time to post a review. Yes, we have curtailed our housekeeping services during this pandemic for the safety of our guests and staff. The city of Myrtle Beach does indeed have an ordinance where guests hand staff can be fined for not wearing protective masks. It is constantly drilled to our staff. I hope you were able to notify our management staff on what you witnessed. Again, thanks for your feedback. Guest reviews are an important tool in improving our performance and guest experience.

We loved our stay at Ocean Park Resort! They are totally dog friendly! The staff members were all amazing!!!! Our room was a 2 bedroom lockout on the 5th floor. It was recently updated with new paint, flooring (no carpet...yay!!!), showers, and some furnishings. Shower pressure was awesome and water was hot! We also had a newer washer/dryer in the hall closet. Beds and pillows were great! The resort is older, but they are doing lots of updates. Pools were both redone the week before we arrived. Outside hot tub is AMAZING! Free movies are available in the machine in the lobby. Also some good discounts and free passes to area attractions are included with your stay. Only things to note that were negative were the lack of good pots and pans for cooking and not enough silverware. This place is not fancy, but it has everything you need to enjoy a trip with your family and/or dog(s). The pet fee actually covers up to 2 dogs perroom. It is also on the south side so close but not right in the middle of all the craziness at the north end of the strip.

The only reason to stay here is bringing your dogs to the beach. It is OF, which is great. They have kitchenettes. The facilities are well maintained. The staff is nice.
The rooms are ok. The resort fees are outrageous. They advertise a $54 rate. with taxes & resort fee, it comes to approximately $120 per night. PLUS the pet fee $20 per dog per night (I have 2 small dogs) plus tax so another $51 per night. We stayed here 4 nights. For $685, I could have stayed somewhere fabulous. It is Mid November & the beach is empty. We have stayed here at least 5 times prior. We always got a great deal. Now that the units are privately owned, it is a terrible value. Also, we were on 11th floor. Per staff, you have to open all of the faucets to hot & let them run a while until you will get hot water. So much water is wasted! I doubt we will be back.

Stayed July 18-25 2020. Despite signage and law, no enforcement of masks. Absolutely shocking to get in the hotels tiny elevators with easily 70% people not wearing masks. A maintenance person came to address some items WITHOUT A MASK. To note: This was the same no matter where we went in Myrtle Beach. Property is outdated and doesn't match pictures. Wifi in hotel is unusable which when you have kids just doesn't work. no central air - very noisy old hotel style bedroom and living room units. Pool is small. overall you pay for the view (if you're beachside) and closeness to the beach and the ability to bring your dog. Would not recommend this property nor would i recommend going to Myrtle Beach until Covid 19 has a cure.

We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback during this crazy time. We try to educate our staff and guests on the importance of social distancing and masks. Signs are placed throughout the property informing guests of the importance of masks in public areas. We will be sure to let our staff know about the wifi issues.

First let me start with the good. Beach/Ocean front location is always a plus. Pet friendly which is hard to find. Staff was friendly…always said hello to me and my dogs. Property was clean although old and worn down. Two elevators to serve 12 floors gets very busy at check-out and check-in but otherwise elevators were always clean and fast! There are two pools (indoor and outdoor) and two jacuzzis (indoor and outdoor)…I cannot speak to the pool or jacuzzis as I did not use them. There is a nice boardwalk for beach access with a water tower for rinsing sand off upon returning from the beach. Parking is ample (although I’m sure gets crowded during peak times) above and below ground parking as well as overflow lot across the street. The not-so good. We had an end unit which was a two bedroom with a VERY odd layout one room was like it’s own efficiency…almost like it was a separate room at one time. The hot water took the entire length of my shower to warm enough to turn it down just a little from all the way hot. The window treatments were, well…see photo below. There were no screens for the sliding doors and the windows didn’t even open. One bedroom smelled of urine. It’s located at the very south end of the beach past the amusement park. The balcony was very small and had this odd textured spray covering on the floor that came off on your feet. Would I return? NO WAY! Not without some serious upgrades and attention to detail. Just not worth the price and the location is not the best (except for ocean front).

After looking for hotels that allows dogs, the pictures of this hotel looked great....until we arrived. The hotel is extremely run down, roaches in the pool area. The only area for your dog to do their business is on a fake patch of grass, they are not allowed on the real grass. The lobby smelled of marijuana, as well as our entire floor. The gym opened at 7 am and the equipment was rusted and old. The shower in our room hit me about mid chest, I’m only 5’4”. The Murphy bed was not usable, because there was not enough room to pull it out, so my son had to sleep on the couch. We requested another set of sheets for the couch, they did not arrive until 9:40 pm. Overall I was very unsatisfied and upset for the majority of my vacation.

I’m currently on locationat Oceon Park Resort. I booked room 402 from 7/24 to 8/01. Traveling with me are my two teenage kids , my dog and wife. The room is a a studio with two Queens size beds. I booked my stay thru VRBO and the pictures on their site are nothing as to what the room looks like. The walls and doors are dirty, the tiles are cracked, the balcony has a rug that is soaked day and night because the AC hose drips water on it at all times. The worst part of my stay is that the bed my wife and I attempted to sleep on was broken. The box spring was broken and the bed had a huge indentation. I reached out to vacasa the managing company for n the first night and they assured me it would be corrected the following day. They asked if the staff can gain access to the room while we weren’t present and I said yes. Vacasa stated they would call me as soon as the condition was corrected. The following day we went out for breakfast and grocery shopping. After breakfast I called Vacasa and asked if the condition was corrected they stated yes and my family and I went grocery shopping. I didn’t want to shop for groceries if we were going to be moved. Upon arrival to our room I discovered that nothing was done. I called Vacasa back told them nothing was done at which point they said they were going to contact the resort local management. Soon after the maintenance personnel came to my room inspected the bed and stated that the bed needed to be in replaced Vacasa called me back soon after and stated they could either replace the bed or find me another room within their network at another location. I stated I would consider an equivalent location meaning on the beach or the bed replaced. Vacasa found a location away from the beach so I stayed at Oceon Park and the bed was replaced two days later. That means I had to sleep in a bed that was not only tilted to one side but sunken in to where my lower back touched the wood. For two nights I put up with it. Waking up each day with a sore lower back. Jessica from vacasa relocation emailed me stating I should be receiving compensation for the inconvenience but after numerous called to vacasa and Kevin the manager at Oceon Park no one has reached out to me yet. The front desk, maintenance and cleaning staff are very helpful and efficient. Management has awful customer service. Before I forget I walked my dog on one of the path next to the property and found a man that appeared to be homeless going thru a possible overdose. I informed the front desk and medical help was dispatched. I wouldn’t recommend this dump to my worst enemy. They should convert it into a homeless shelter.

This resort was nothing like its pictures online. We checked into room 922, a two bedroom suite, where the master bedroom had flooring that was warped and rotting. None of the fire alarms worked, it was dirty, and there was no lock for the balcony door. I noticed water started seeping through the master bedroom floor every time we would step on it and immediately went to complain about these issues which were health hazards. They told us there was nothing they could do. A couple days later I returned to the front desk complaining that our floor was leaking water still at which point the assistant manager left me a voicemail stating they could lay some towels down but that’s all they could do. The next morning they knocked on our door asking to inspect our room because the floor below us had a leak. Our entire trip we had water from an unknown source coming up from our floor and soaking our stuff with no attempted help from the staff. Do not recommend and will never stay here again.

Not a good place to stay. Stayed in room 1116 when entering the room had a bad odor. To me it smelled like old cooking grease, my husband said it smelled like something else. We picked this place because of the 4 bubble rating on trip advisor and the proximety to the sports plex my daughter was playing at. We had not been in the room longer than 1 hour and my husband noticed a roach crawling across the floor. Picture of the dead roach included. Check in staff not friendly. Her replacement not any better. Walls are thin and can hear neighbors. Furniture is dated and mattress was hard and cheap.

While this hotel is not a 5 star stay, this is our second time lodging here and I definitely will again! Prices are reasonable, the staff is always so professional and courteous. The ocean front views are beautiful and unlike other properties I looked at, parking is easy at Ocean Park. And best of all the resort is conveniently located to many of the areas attractions. My only negatives are that both times I’ve stayed here one of the two elevators has been broken making wait times longer, especially when the resort is booked up. And the beds in our room were very worn and squeaky and loud and would sometimes wake everyone in the room up.
