" Under South Carolina law, assistance dogs must be allowed in all hotels and other lodging places; all places of public amusement, resort, or accommodation; all common carriers, types of transportation, and public conveyances (including buses, taxis, trains, boats, and so on); and all places to which the public is invited."
However this does NOT apply to "emotional support" or "therapy" animals. South Caroline defines a service animal as:
"A service animal means an animal that is trained for the purposes of assisting or accommodating the sensory, mental, or physical disability of a disabled person. Under the law, the provision of emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship does not constitute the work or tasks of a service animal; and
Whereas, no vest, other marking, or documentation is required for an animal to qualify as a service animal, nor are such vests, markings, or documentation a reliable indication of whether an animal is, by law, a service animal. People sometimes erroneously think that a therapy animal, an emotional support animal, or any animal wearing a vest or having any other type of marking is a service animal as defined by law" (source: SC General Assembly bill H5041)

This resort is located up the beach and in a quieter area. The boardwalk and other activities are within easy driving distance, but unless you really like to hike, too far to walk. If you want to be in the middle of everything, then this one is not for you. If you want a quieter place to stay, then stay at it.
