Came here for a funeral. Room was dirty. The tub was dirty. Used hand towels hanging over the shower rail. Used socks left behind. Floor paneling was lifting. Large holes in the shower curtain. And the bed frame had tears revealing foam.

This would be a great work conference hotel. Large space, large, newly renovated rooms, huge gym, nice outdoor pool area. Lots of meeting and conference rooms, M-Lounge, restaurant, and friendly staff. I can't fault a thing - I'm actually surprised by all the people complaining about not receiving their Marriott status recognition. I'm a Platinum and was treated quite well by name, plus my points, free breakfast, etc. I enjoyed my stay, I'll be back if I'm in the area again.

While at my recent stay at the North Charleston Marriott, I had many issues getting checked in, neglected to receive my titanium welcome gift, and experienced a room that was not cleaned well. Upon check in, my reservation was incorrect and they had to use my confirmation email to get the correct days and rates. No apologies, even though three people at the desk looked at it. No mention of my titanium status or lifetime gold. They failed to offer the welcome gift and no mention of how to get to the room or elevators and I had to ask about the lounge & breakfast. I used the app to make requests, but they were ignored and I had to call 5 hours later. The room could use a good cleaning. Dust was evident on the bed headboards, all shelves, lamps, etc. It was a real disappointment for Marriott, especially since I stayed at this property three years ago and it was great. As a frequent customer of Marriott properties, this is well below the service I have come to expect. One saving grace was the excellent breakfast, as it was one of the best I've had a Marriott property. Compliments to the food service. I contacted them regarding my issues, but only received one lackluster response during the nearly four weeks that the case was open. Thankfully corporate Marriott provided excellent customer service in place of the local property to resolve my issues.

I like the look of the hotel and the rooms and have stayed here several times since it was renovated and branded as a Marriott. This was the first time since Covid, so it was different. I've noticed that different Marriott hotels have very different responses to Covid. Some still give you all the amenities as before. This one seems to be using the pandemic as an excuse to cut costs. For example, all the glasses, cups, coffee-maker, etc are gone from the room. The result is that instead of safely having coffee in your room, you have to go to the restaurant, where most people aren't wearing masks. Of course the hotel makes more money this way. Still, the staff is nice, there's a great gym, and the restaurant is OK.
