North Beach Resort & Villas garners mixed reviews, with the hotel's location on the beachfront near the Board Walk being a highlight for numerous guests. However, some travelers have voiced dissatisfaction with the outdated and poorly maintained rooms and amenities, noting that the resort's atmosphere feels like a throwback to the 1980s. While the pool deck and location are praised, issues with housekeeping, service inconsistencies, and a sense of poor value for the cost have been called out by guests.

We always love going to North Beach Resort. It is the nicest place to stay and is so convenient to attractions and shopping. I just love how nice the rooms have always been. This will not be our last trip to North Beach Resort

We have stayed at these condos a few times in the past as well as the private houses farther back from the beach. I’d recommend the condos for the convenience to the pools and especially beach. Even with the complementary shuttle service, it is so nice to be able to return to your condo for lunch and head back out to the beach without a long walk in the heat. The pools are very close and offer lots of options for lounging in the sun. Our most recent condo had all the living room furniture covered in cheap, dirty, lint-covered slip covers which was gross and pretty tacky. Looked like a college dorm instead of upscale condo. We didn’t even want to sit on the couches or armchairs really. The rest of the furniture and applicants were nice and as expected. We tried the breakfast buffet out on the 14th floor and found that very enjoyable with a variety of foods. The pool food is the usual type but pretty pricey for the quality and quantity. There really aren’t any other dining options within walking distance so you have to tackle the parking deck. The elevators aren’t bad, but we tried to check in / out at odd times to avoid the rush. Can’t imagine what it would be like if one went down. Housekeeping was diligent about emptying our trash daily and providing fresh linens. All in all, I’d say this is a very nice condo with great beach views (especially from the higher floors).

This hotel is my absolute favorite hotel, they are always so nice and accommodating. I was a mom traveling with my kids and wanted a safe, friendly environment and that's just what I got. The facilities, staff, and food/drinks are top notch. I have 2 negatives, the rooms are too expensive not to include housekeeping daily. It really takes away from the ambience and sense of service that I know you're trying to offer; plus, every night you pay a "cleaning fee" of $29 so it should be included. Also, I ordered breakfast off of your website from the pizza place and chose the delivery option. It was never delivered and I tried to call numerous times to no avail. I also walked down there around lunch and they were closed due to changing over of staff. Overall, a great stay just some constructive feedback in hopes your hotel stays fabulous!!! Thanks again for a great stay.

I've had great experiences at NBP over the last 10 years. But this was a big disappointment. Construction crews had 1/2 the pools closed, including the largest heated pool. It was noisy every day on our balcony from construction. There were so many doors and gates temporarily closed, we had to use long detours every time we went anywhere.

And then since we arrived so late we were stuck in a room that had only cleaned one of three bedrooms for that first night. When I called to report the issue I was told by a rude gentleman that they normally charge a fee to change linens during our stay, but he would WAIVE that. I said you can't charge me for changing linens. They were never changed. And 2 of the bedroom TVs didn't work. The owner got 2 new ones but didn't program them.

Maintenance (Carrie Bush) was there immediately to fix the toilet handle that was about to fall off. She figured out we were not given enough of the right remotes for the new TVs and she also programmed them for us.

Housekeeping arrived to put on fresh sheets, but made a very feeble attempt at cleaning the floors.

They only offered us $250 credit on our next stay. But when I checked out, Christina West asked about the stay and I informed her of the promise of a gift card and shared all of the issues with her. She was very apologetic gave me her business card and told me to personally call her to make my next reservation and those issues wouldn't happen. So I hope my next visit will be like the others and this was a fluke.

We couldn't even swim in the heated pools because they were empty.

This was disappointing from day one. First of all, our Unit 402, was problem after problem. I will start with basics 1) The dishwasher did not work and dispense the cleaning liquid. 2) The washer and dryer were decades old and the dryer vent was so rusted and torn, you couldn't get it out to even clean it. Very dangerous. 3) The
refrigerator had 3 broken door shelves, which made this completely incapable of storing food for a 4 bedroom Unit. 4) The lighting in the entire unit was dim and hard to see. 5) Most importantly, when booking this condo 7 months ahead, the pictures on the website are not representative of the unit. Most storage, shelves in the living room and dressers and armoirs in the bedrooms have been removed, not to mention seating in the living room. We were depending on a chair with an ottoman and a recliner, both of which had been removed. These are just a few of the problems with the actual unit. There were really too many to list.
Now onto the resort, North Beach wants the buyer to believe it is resort living, it is not. There are constant issues with finding a pool chair or a gate that actually works to give you beach access or pool access. Plan on 20 minutes any time you are trying to catch an elevator, and the parking garage is not suited to park the cars for the entire complex. If you request towels or trash pick up, it will be hours upon hours before you will get this service. And although the resort may not have much control over the beach , they do have an umbrella and chair service in front of the resort. Again, we paid for an umbrella and extra chairs, but again because there is not enough space and no rules for others who do not pay for an umbrella, they can sit up right on top
of you. We literally had umbrellas touching ours.

The entire experience was extremely disappointing. We will not ever book again with North Beach, and will go back to Murrells Inlet.

North Beach Resort has always been the premier place for my family and I to stay when we vacation at Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately it is no longer giving me luxury vibes for the money you are charging!!! The patio furniture in Condo 1716 in Jasmine tower is worn and torn.. carpet is dirty. I’ve always felt like these condos should all have leather furniture because of sanitary reasons and once again because of the money that is being charged to stay. People want a home away from home while on vacation!! I want to be able to sit and lay without worrying about who was there before me!!!

When we reached our room the day of check in, the room was dirty. There was sand on the floor. Two of the three bathrooms had mold in the ceiling. The ceiling fans were caked up with dust, as well as the artificial plants and lampshades. The furniture was dusty as well as the baseboards had not been wiped down in months. The couch had stains on it. The appliances were dirty. The dishwasher had caked on food, the washing machine was molded. There was broken glass in the basket drain of the dishwasher.

I called the font desk to complain about the dirty condition and they sent someone right away. The women who inspected my concerns came back with someone who cleaned the fans and the mold in the ceiling. The matter was addressed promptly. The next morning I called back because I wanted someone to clean the condo. They sent the head of housekeeping who I showed him the caked up dust on plants and the dusty furniture and asked him to have this cleaned as if we were just getting here. He basically shrugged his shoulders at me. They did change all of our sheets and cleaned up the sand in the floor. They also removed the artificial plants and said they would return them once we checked out. I guess they had no plans on cleaning them. He tried to tell me they are dusted with a swifter duster. Those plants have NEVER been dusted.

The pool is great however, it is cloudy and sand on the floor. No matter what time of day. The pool was dirty. You could not see the returns in the bottom of the pool at night or first thing in the morning. Absolutely gross!

The felt with the uncleanliness of the condo. I can assure you we will not be returning.

We booked a vacation at this resort because we live the amenities that are like home, but with the advantage of being oceanfront and being able to look out at the ocean. However, on this trip, we were placed on the second floor after being originally assigned to a smoke-filled room on the fourth floor that was unacceptable due to my sons having asthma. Note: the units are “smoke-free.” Upon arrival into the 2nd floor unit (all that they claimed to have), we noted that we could not see the ocean. However, it was dark and near midnight and we were already exhausted by the inexcusable check-in fiasco we had already endured, not to mention being drained by traveling. The next morning we awakened to only confirm our disappointment that we could not see the ocean! Again, we were told that the resort was booked to capacity and that there were no units available. However, we witnessed people checking out and when we went on the website, we could have booked a 2 or 3 bedroom unit on the spot. How could the resort then not have somewhere to move us??? This went in for days with promises that they were trying to accommodate us in moving us to an alternate location. Understand this is after fiascos with the strong stomach of sewer in the unit, which worsened after a power outage and with the ice maker not working. Management admitted that other travelers have complained about the issue of not being able to see the ocean, but the upper management offered not compassion nor compensation and obviously feels justified to charge us the same price as people who can view the ocean well on other floors. We had nice view of trees and the tops of canopies. What a cheat! We felt trapped and nothing was offered to relieve us during this visit. I’m not sure if the place is under new management or what, but we will NOT vacation here again. Note: This was our third visit thus far this year. We had even considered buying a unit here, but not after this experience.

This hotel was once one of the best I have stayed in. This year proved anything but. Our room was dirty, furniture broken, beds atrocious, patio furniture a mismatch of Walmart Foodlion and Dollar tree and half was broken. Lamp shades were dry rotted and ripped dining table was dirty to the point it could not be wiped off. When I complained a manager came and to her credit was as horrified as I was. She took pictures and said they would have us moved. After 4 hours the only option was to move to one of the houses a 4 bedroom which was nice, but, moved us away from the group we were travelling with. It gave us a longer walk to the beach etc etc. The house was acceptable, but the pool at the house which was their selling point was dirty which rendered it unusable as I did not know if it was safe to swim in. It also had grass growing all through the concrete surrounding the pool which was unsightly. I must say that all through the hotel things were worn and tired. The amenities at the outdoor pools were also worn, cleaning of pool decks was spotty at best where we sat, a child dropped an ice cream drink which stayed there all week straws cups everything.
In addition there are LOTS of rules for the pool areas unfortunately they are there for looks. NONE are enforced. One such rule is no reserving of chairs. Chairs had towels on them that stayed all day, yet no one sat in them. No pool towels on beach yet beach was littered with blue and white towels. There were a minimum of two gate guards at each pool entrance yet the only rule enforced was you can’t walk to the beach with your beach chair by way of the pool deck. Not sure why that was the only rule enforced. I have no problems with the rules only that they need to be enforced across the board or do not post them. Lastly I was charged 54.40 per day for housekeeping at the House I rented and never saw a housekeeper.

The advertised luxury two bedroom condo was not even close to luxury. This oceanfront condo had a beautiful view of outside but inside was awful. The furniture was extremely dirty and looked like it was from a junkyard. I had to purchase sheets to put over sofa and chair to utilize. The main TV would go black every few minutes, there was a missing headboard in second bedroom with linens and comforters that were paper thin. There were blinds in the first bedroom that were hanging but broken. The rug in living area was filthy. The Condo World website listed daily maid service as an amenity but was not the case. They would take trash and provide towels each day only. I felt deceived with pictures and descriptions on line and dissatisfied with cleanliness and condition of condo.
When contacting the main office, they said these issues would be taken to the owner to be resolved which is bothersome that there is no checks and balances when it comes to the condition of these condos. They also said they were completely sold out during the dates of my stay therefore I could not be moved. However you could see various units that were vacant from our balcony. The outside pool area was very nice. However the lack of cleanliness and poor condition of this unit will deter me from ever staying here again.

No room service for food but there is housekeeping to empty trash and refresh linens/towels. There is also a restaurant on site for breakfast and lunch. Also a steakhouse but in a different area of the complex.
