My husband and 8 year old son stayed here for a night on our way to Florida. I’ll start with the positive. The location is great, just off I26. Its close to gas stations and restaurants. Check in staff was very friendly. The main room was very clean, it passed the black light challenge even! The vanity is separate from the tub and toilet making it easier for two people to get ready at the same time. Never heard any of our neighbors.
Now, for the negatives. There was a mystery stain on the edge of the tub, that I don’t think will ever come off. There was a quarter size hole in the ceiling just to the right of the bed. The beds were extremely firm. The traffic noise was bothersome during the night and a train went by at some point which also woke us up. The heater was noisy as well. The breakfast was disappointing offering cereal, some pastries and breads, coffee, and milk and juice in gallon jugs in a refrigerator.
While we would stay in Orangeburg again, we would pay more and pick different accommodations.

This is an older motel type place where you park your car just outside of the room. Our room was clean and smelled OK. This is important to us.

Check in was challenging. The person working the desk was having issues with the computer and couldn’t register guests. We were 3 couples waiting to check in. He had to call someone to drive to the hotel to solve the computer issue. One couple who had not reserved ahead of time needed up leaving, because of the wait.

The person who came to solve the computer problem ended up taking photocopies of our ID and allowed us to get to our rooms. We feel the wait to resolve this problem was unnecessary. The original person checking us in should have been able to problem solve.

The room was clean. There was only one nightstand, so I had to put a chair next to my side of the bed, so I could place my beverage and book on it.

The air conditioner blows directly under the heavy curtains, restricting the air from flowing into the room. We placed the luggage rack against the curtain and the window and this allowed air to flow into the room.

Overall it was a good stay.

My husband was in Orangeburg for work for the week and we decided to stay at this hotel, which was conveniently available last minute. The hotel staff was very friendly, checking if we needed any new towels, soaps, trash taken out, etc each day. We have a service dog with us and were able to have him in the room with no issues. The bed was a king size and very comfortable. The room was clean, very large tv and everything worked great. There was no breakfast due to COVID, but the friendliness of the staff and convenience in location made up for it. We would stay here again and recommend this place, although for some reason on my safari maps it says “permanently closed.”

aking724 wrote a thorough review on their stay in Feb. We found the same positives they did but their negatives either were not present in our room or did not seem that bad at all. We normally don't eat breakfast at motels so their breakfast review did not relate to us. In addition to the rooms being well kept the outside areas were well kept up.
The only room negative was the refrig did not have a freezer compartment and the
micro, though clean, was very old and did not work well.
This is the first time in a very long time that we have stayed in a Travel Lodge as the brand has really fallen in quality but this location was acceptable and based on future reviews we would consider staying again.
While there were no issues I did notice there were a few rooms at the far ends that appeared to be "weekly" rentals.

Rooms need to be updated. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom needed to be cleaned. It was an open pack of cigars left on the counter from the previous occupant and the room has an odor. I was scared to touch anything before wiping it down first.

The room wasn't clean, it was full of dust, the bed cover wasn't clean and the wifi wasn't available in our room and in the room next to ours. The staff said they couldn't help with the wifi and that we had to call a third party to get it fix. They didn't want to look at the problem themselves. In addition, no print information about how to work the TV cable was available in the room and, in the morning I press the wrong key and lost the cable. I didn't know how to get the cable back and watch the development of the tornado. The staff was impatient with me and raised his voice but finally came to the room to fix the cable. There was a tornado watch and we needed to be informed about the condition of the highway. I was anxious with the road conditions and would of appreciated a minimum of understanding on the part of the staff. We did not have access to our cellphone and without cable (TV News) and wifi we were unable to have information. This wasn't not a good experience.

Nothing fancy and a little bit shabby...But a clean room, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Surprised at how quiet as it was so close to the interstate and other businesses. Very basic breakfast but the coffee was pretty good and with the money I saved I could easily splurge on a meal at a diner. I would book again

Check in lady as very nice, updated carpet in our room. We like the small style hotel, and ground level set up. Breakfast needs improvement otherwise a great location to stay over on the way to Florida

The room was good for the price. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. There were several cable channels. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was mostly cereal and coffee. The receptionist was polite. I did like that it was one floor and you could park directly in front of your room. A couple of things to improve is low water pressure from sink and the cosmetics need updating.
