The Best Western Plus Santee Inn garners praise for its commendable service, especially the friendly staff and impressive breakfast experience. Its location is another highlight, with guests appreciating the nearby dining options. The hotel's amenities, including a variety of breakfast choices, a pool, and pet-friendly policies, are popular among reviewers. While opinions on the rooms and decor are mixed, noting both dated elements and recent upgrades, overall cleanliness receives high marks. Excellent, helpful staff; and a wonderful clean, comfortable and quiet room. This was a great overnight stop on drive back from from Florida. We will definitely stop and stay here again. The hotel is a quick right off I95 making it very convenient. There are a number of restaurants nearby, including a very good Mexican food restaurant that is not Taco Bell.

Looking for a halfway stop on the way south, I chose this BW Plus after reading reviews. Super glad we has a reservation as apparently the golfers are in town and there was no vacancy. The hotel is just a couple blocks off 95 but next to a lovely golf course and was very quiet. It is an older one story hotel, and you can park right at your door. The entrance is exceptionally welcoming, with pretty lights adorning it, and comfy chairs with beachy themed pillows outside. The office/dining room opens into a heated outdoor pool, which had very clean, warm water, confirmed by me touching it. Our room had older decor with high bed, but very, very clean and comfortable. Super good bright lighting in the room with multiple lamps. The bathroom was very clean, and the towels were quality and fluffy. See pics. I saw the housekeeping carts when we checked out, with multiple spray bottles of Tilex, and our tub was spotless. Breakfast was fairly usual for a BW, although I was disappointed they had run out of bacon. Despite age, for cleanliness, quiet and comfort, I give this Santee BW Plus an A+.

Property is spread out with rooms located only on ground level, so parking is available right in front of your room. This is especially convenient for handicapped people. Our accessible room was clean, no odor nor heavily deordorized to cover up something. AC worked just fine and no issue with our door locking as another guest stated. Bed was comfortable. We did notice the front desk staff not wearing masks, but they were seated behind a platic shield. The breakfast is served by a staff member who wears a mask and gloves. We were pleased with this hotel and would stay again.

Check in and out were quick. Pulling up to our room was convenient as we had our bikes with us. We also appreciated the small fridge in our room and there was a microwave as well that I am sure could come in handy for someone. That is where the positives end.
Signs on the doors of the lobby state no entry without mask or face-covering. Only one or two people at breakfast wore one into the lobby everyone else coming and going both at check in the night before checkout the next morning did not wear or have masks with them. The people working in the lobby and front desk also did not wear masks. This was not impressive. We skipped bfast and went to mcds drivethru.
Our door to our room was broken and although the lock seemed to work the door did not close all of the way and let in cold air and road noise. The gap was quite large and could allow mosquitoes and rodents in as well.
Our room was heavily deodorized to cover something else up. Not sure what but the stink seemed to get worse as the night went on. And the ac/heater was defective and made a loud whooshing sound. Take earplugs. Even with mine it was quite distracting. Will stay in another hotel the next time.

My wife and I were traveling from Maryland to Florida and stopped at this hotel. It was a wise decision indeed. It is located just off I-95, so it's very convenient. But it's also far enough away from the highway so it isn't noisy. The hotel is really attractive with a heated pool, hammocks, and attractive landscaping. They practice the proper COVID protocols, so you feel safe, and the rooms are drive-up to the door, so you have virtually no contact with others. The rooms are really large and the décor is upscale. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and quite nice. The TV was LG and they offered free premium channels like HBO. The free breakfast had all the usual fair, including waffles. And there were a wide range of nearby restaurants, including a Starbucks in the morning for coffee. You can't beat the price for what you get and we would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Stayed in room 204, this was a pet friendly room so there was no carpet on the floor which took away from the comfort of the room. The room was clean, smelled clean. The bedsheets smelled like clorox which was a bit overwhelming. We stayed one night and it was pleasant i would stay here again for a night or 2 the most nothing more than that. Parking is right outside your room which is great.
The front desk gentleman who was there when we checked in was rude, he made no eye contact didnt welcome me or say hello it was like i didnt exist, very unpleasant and not sure of the laws but he didnt have a mask and was coughing.
The breakfast lady was nice and accommodating.
Overall not a bad stay for a stop on to Florida, especially when alot of other hotels in the area seemed crappy, this being a pet hotel definetly was a plus.

What a fantastic and relaxing place! A small town with the small town atmosphere and great place to go for that "just get away" experience. The facility is single story which allows spacious parking in front of your room for easy access to/from vehicle. Although COVID 19 has had an impact on choice of sit down food all the "fast food" places were operating with drive through ad or take out. There is a grocery story a couple of hundred yards away. I will be back for another stay on my Harley.

Recently stayed at this hotel. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable room, friendly, welcoming staff at an affordable price this is your place. "Included" breakfast is an extensive selection of hot and cold foods, including down home foods like waffles, pancakes, bacon but with lots of healthy options and stuff for kids. Every staff member is friendly and you can tell it's a great place to work. You can tell the team takes great pride in making their hotel one of the best for the money.

I chose to stay at this location on a trip up to New York , because they are pet friendly with a modest $30 fee. The lobby was clean and organized. Even had cookies upon arrival. The room was the cleanest room I've stayed in maybe ever. I always do a quick inspection, because some maids miss things that could be harmful to a dog like dropped medication.. I almost never want to take a bath in a hotel, but the tub was sparkling clean and big! It sits next to a nice golf course, where you can walk up through the parking lot and to some townhouses. So, plenty of space to walk your dog here. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices to eat healthy. The gym is older, but everything works. I would suggest disposing of the harsh chemical air fresheners. I understand you don't want the gym to smell like sweat, but it is so strong it's hard to breathe. And lastly we would suggest to stop feeding the feral cats. There were four in the parking lot with people putting food down. Trust me I like animals too, but unless you are defleaing and deworming them..this is not fair to anyone else. Cracker Barrel was our choice for dinner :)

Our family stayed at this hotel as a halfway point between Pennsylvania and Florida. Since we have stayed at this hotel in the past, it was no surprise to have excellent accommodations. The rooms are large, clean and quiet. The hotel has exterior corridors, and allows guests to park directly in front of their hotel room. The pool was large and clean; my daughter especially enjoyed this part of our stay! Breakfast was a “grab and go” paper bag filled with water, juice, muffin or danish, fruit and granola bar. Great experience, would definitely stay here again!

Yes, however, you really need to call in advance as normally, "rooms are guaranteed, but specific locations are granted on an availability basis". I've worked many years in the hospitality industry, so trust me, you will want to call....and always get the employee's name! Happy holiday.

Yes there is a very good seafood restaurant right next door to this hotel. There are a few others in the area if you don't prefer seafood. Have fun!
