Detailed Reviews
We were immediately welcomed by Rob & Vanessa into their amazing Manoir bordering the Dordogne. Our room was stunning with its large double bed that then leads to the large bathroom with bath and walk-in shower enclosure.
We later enjoyed resting in the guest lounge and a walk around the 2 acre gardens. Maybe next time will allow us to use the swimming pool but February is just too cold!!!
Breakfast is served in the dining room and fresh breads and croissants were available.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish Rob and Vanessa all best wishes for their continuing success.

Hi David, Thank you so much for the review you left us and I am so happy you loved the facilities on offer at Le Manoir and that you enjoyed the Melanie Suite. Next time you visit, the pool will definitely be open and I am sure that yourself and Wendy will enjoy a cold glass or two in the sun!

You will not regret coming here.
It is under half an hour from Bergerac airport should you choose to land here, through vineyard filled countryside to this stunning manoir. It has been sympathetically restored but has modern touches where you need them- wifi wherever you need it, and bathrooms up to luxury hotel standard. The bedrooms and sitting room and dining room are filled with lovely furniture appropriate to the style of the manoir. Outside, the grounds will come to life as spring comes round, we didnt get to use the pool because it was too early in the season when we visited. We will use it when we come back!
Above all though, are the hosts. Rob and Vanessa cant do too much for you. Their food is amazing, all locally sourced and fresh and seasonal. As a cheese lover, I was in absolute heaven. I wont be having my cholesterol levels measured for some time!
When you venture out there are some lovely towns to visit very near by- St Emilion ( a town centered around wine making) was a highlight for us.

Hi Stella, thank you so much for your great review of Le Manoir. Vanessa and I loved meeting yourself and Andreas and I really enjoyed showing an expert some of our antique furnitue. Please thank him for his help in moving the grandfather clock, it was very kind! We would absolutely love to welcome you back to our home whenever suits you and when the grounds are in full bloom and the pool is warm and inviting...

We cannot recommend this beautiful, spacious b&b highly enough with its stunning interior and views to match. The hosts were extremely welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The breakfast was fresh with plenty of variety. You’d never know the owners had only recently taken over...they provided such a superb experience.
The room was thoughtfully furnished, beautifully quiet (couldn’t hear anything else happening in the property) and perfect temperature.
Bathroom was spacious and contemporary. Shower pressure was excellent and bath deep with plenty of piping hot water.
We enjoyed cosy evenings by fire playing with the selection of classic games after days out exploring the local area (lots to see and do).
We literally couldn’t find fault with any aspect and didn’t want to leave...we will be back there soon for certain!

Dear Leonie, Thanks so much for your review and your helpful and positive comments about your suite. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Le Manoir and we would love to see you again, maybe in the Summer when you can swap the roaring fire for sipping cold Bergerac wine by the pool... Thanks again, Rob and Vanessa

We had 4 peaceful nights and the best of hospitality from the new owners, Rob & Vanessa. The B & B speaks for itself, steeped in history and presented beautifully. With its complimentary decor and furnishings, spacious suites and spotless bathroom we were not disappointed. The bed was ever soo comfortable with good quality pillows and linen. The hosts are both friendly and attentive, whether it was preparing us the perfect breakfast/evening meal or offering knowledge of the local area. We visited plenty of places but particularly enjoyed the local market at Sainte Foy La Grande and the beach at Lac de Gurson.
Visiting really is a must, I cannot recommend enough. We can't wait to stay again and experience more of the Manoir charm.

I stayed at the MdBM with a couple of friends for the weekend and cannot praise this place highly enough. The house is absolutely stunning, set in beautiful ground and the owners cannot do enough to make your stay a memorable one. Its location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area, great local cuisine and sightseeing and the close proximity to the airport makes for such stress free travel to/from the UK. Just perfect

From the first phone call with Vanessa, we were always going to stay at the Manoir Du Bois Mignon. Both owners, Rob and Vanessa, have a lovely, easy going approach, and offer a very warm welcome to their 'home'.
The place is naturally beautiful. It has been tastefully refurbished in recent years and is now a very relaxed, comfortable base for visiting the delightful Bordeaux region. Our room was actually the smallest in the house, but it never crossed our minds. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size, with a long bath and a separate, spacious shower.
Breakfast, included in the price, was plentiful and a daily treat (Quick tip; accept the offer of cooked eggs, they are delicious). Everything expected of a continental breakfast. Evening meals are not part of the deal, but Vanessa is happy to negotiate if asked. We had dinner on arrival, on the Sunday, and, again, it was fantastic.
Late September gave us really good weather, and the pool in the garden came in very useful. We never used the gardens 'games area', but it is there for those who want it.
This is a lovely place to chill out and relax. I hope we go back.

I recently visited this place for work and stayed here for two weeks. Apon arrival I was greeted by the most welcoming hosts and was made to feel very welcome. The area is just stunning, situated right on the Dordogne River, not far from local towns. As well as the lovely surroundings of the river there are also plenty of vineyards to visit and woods at the end of the lane with public walks. The accommodation is so pretty, the rooms are just 10/10 with everything you need and very comfortable beds! I have already sorted my next stay and have recommended to my family and friends. I highly Recommend.

We stopped off for 2 nights with Vanessa and Rob in order to get some rest on our long journey driving from Gibraltar to London. At pretty much half way, it’s the ideal place. The house and grounds are stunning. Lots of individual spaces to read a book or have a snooze. Our son loved the pool too! The rooms were very clean and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Breakfast is delicious with a fantastic range to choose from. We pre ordered and thoroughly enjoyed a couple of meat/cheese platters on the first night, as we arrived late, and they were just the ticket with a large glass of local wine. Hosts make you feel so welcome. Can’t recommend highly enough. We’ll be back!

Hi Saskia, Thank you so much for your kind words and lovely review. I'm glad we were able to give you a relaxing break from your long journey back to the UK, it was just a shame you, Dom and Toby couldn't have stayed longer, maybe next time? Take care and I hope your move back to London goes to plan... Rob and Vanessa

Simply, home from home (but more luxurious, warmer, bigger!). Beautiful surroundings, away from the hubbub of modern day life and with the most charming and helpful hosts we have ever experienced. The breakfasts were delightful (fresh eggs every day) and 'home-cooked' evening meals meant there was little need to leave the accommodation at all! When we did want to leave, our hosts booked the vineyards and restaurants - all within very easy reach. Parfait.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this very well managed and well presented upmarket B &B. It was more like a small hotel.
LOCATION…….a 5 min drive from two small villages, and a 20/25 min run to the lovely medieval town of Bergerac where there are many restaurants. Very well situated for exploring The Dordogne. A good train service is on your doorstep.
FACILITIES…….we had the upper floor which is a self contained apartment. Well presented and spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed and very large shower.
There is a huge communal lounge for guests to relax and outside there are plenty of cushioned sun beds located around the large clean pool.
OWNERS…….Rob and Venessa were lovely hosts who really make sure they look after their guests. We had lovely breakfasts. On our last night (we stayed six days) they cooked up a wonderful dinner that we enjoyed with two other couples. They have a very friendly dog called Rosie and three trouble free lap cats
The whole experience was faultless ad an absolute joy.
