We loved the experience and the way the owners kept it to historic 1930's quality. They added a nice shower and bath room. We were where very comfortable and enjoyed breakfast at the Inn and walking through the GARDEN. Very lovely hosts.

From the warm greeting when we arrived to the “sad” departure our time at the Clevedale Inn was wonderful. The gardens are spectacular. A complete pleasure to sit under beautiful old trees. The breakfasts were delightful and always a pleasant surprise. We could have stayed several more days but the dream had to end.

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. I booked to stay here for a wedding several weeks in advance. Two weeks prior to arrival, I got an email saying they were overbooked and to call. When I called, they said nevermind - retook my credit card number and charged me for the two nights stay. I got another email THREE DAYS before we were supposed to arrive saying they were overbooked! She said she would refund my money and there was availability at the Hampton Inn. SO RIDICULOUS!

As explained voice to voice and email, overbooking doesn't happen often. Again we apologize as we try to check our various booking engines daily to avoid overbooking. When there is an overbooking, our policy is to assist by contacting another B&B or hotel for availability. We pride ourselves on going the extra mile for guests and hope that you will reconsider our property in the future when visiting the Hub City of Spartanburg.

Clevedale Inn and Gardens deserve to be known by all southern travelers who appreciate the finer things in life: gorgeous gardens (4 ACRES) a handsomely and thoughtfully renovated mansion, fine, fine food and best of all the company of hosts, Pontheolla and Paul Abernathy. Our stay cost 155. and was better than the Greenbrier. Wonderful breakfast, tailored to our picky tastes. Terrific wine tasting and great conversation. Not to be missed if you are anywhere close to Spartansburg/

Paul & Pontheolla take kindness and caring to a whole other level. The property is beautiful and wonderfully kept, and the breakfasts are exquisite, but it's the love that these two exude that pushes this place into a different stratosphere of excellence. Our first afternoon at the Clevedale started with a great conversation over wine in their living area, during which we were given outstanding recommendations about the area. While Pontheolla claimed that the breakfasts were kept in a rotation, somehow she managed to make the two breakfasts (shrimp & grits and chicken & red velvet waffles) that I'd said had caught my eye when researching the B&B. I'm either incredibly lucky, or she provided the most personalized breakfast service imaginable. We felt completely cared for during the entire weekend, and that care didn't cease in the final day of our stay. My wife was preparing for a presentation, and they allowed us to stay beyond our checkout to make sure she was adequately prepared. It was something they didn't have to do, but it was greatly appreciated. We will never forget Paul & Pontheolla. We desperately hope to be back again in the future.

Beautifully restored 100 year old Southern home and gardens complete with gracious innkeepers and gourmet breakfasts. About 10 minute drive into downtown but the tranquility of a spot just outside the city limits was worth it. Highly recommend but book directly through owners.

Hi Nanasjo. Yes we have several breakfast options which do not have seafood. Unfortunately all of our rooms are on the second floor. We would love to host your parents for their 60 anniversary. What a testament to their love.
