Nice place hard to be fair on the review since there where still restrictions on certain activities. So we never got to experience the Spa , Sauna or steam room, Also the whirlpool until the last night, The pool was limited to a certain amount of people but we always got in. The pool is nice and the area well kept. The pool side cafe is nice good food and surprisingly good prices. If you needed ice they would bring it to your room same with any other supplies you may need such as towel toilet paper soap and soap and so on. House keeping was a little bit of a issue they are supposed to come out every 4 days we had to call and they never showed up we had to call the next day and they were not going to come out so I had to contact a manger and he straighten them out! I was a little disappointed that with so many things that you pay for on the property closed down and they did not reduce the price of your stay The indoor pool is nice but again no fault of the resorts was limited in capacity. The 2 bedroom loft was spacious with a king room plenty of closet space and draws. Two sink down stairs for the bathroom however the shower is very low I am 5"11' and had to bend to get under the water. The upstairs has 2 double beds but is wide open so the noise from downstairs goes right up to the bedroom. . As far as location it is peaceful however you have to drive to every where. There are no stores to walk to or restaurants.

This spot is dated and aged. The couch was almost unusable as it fell apart when you sat on it. Lots of construction noise. View of a retention pond with plastic pipes everywhere. Not scenic. Miles from the beach. One small hot tub at the pool for a giant resort. They put us right next to the children's area and the construction. The noise was a lot. It was DIRTY. Dried food in the microwave and the dishwasher. Floor was filthy. My socks were black within minutes of arrival. The layout is weird with a tiny closet toilet and a separate tiny closet shower. Several weird locked doors led to other rooms we didn't have access to. The pressure to participate in the sales experience was intense. I said no about a hundred times and then just left while they said: okay well call us later and tell us when you want to come. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

This was our second stay here and it was excellent. We had a 3 bedroom which is actually a 2 bedroom with a connecting door to the hotel suite set up. It was great for our family of five. Bigger than what we needed but it gave everyone their own space. It was clean and everything was in decent shape. They only downfall was the construction going on behind the unit. However we enjoyed feeding the turtles and geese everyday! The pools were relaxing and on-site activities were fantastic for the kids. Surfside beach was so much fun! The resort has shuttles to take you to the beach area so you don’t have to go early and pay for parking. Lots of restaurants nearby and Myrtle Beach was only about 15 minutes away.

Seemed like a nice room i had one bedroom downstairs and two bedroom upstairs. The room upstairs had no remote. I let it go and just went out to check out the boardwalk by the beach and came back and showered and laid down with my boyfriend and when he turned around he saw a small bug under the pillow and he killed it and we were just going to sleep on the other bed in the room but then I told him to check the room to make sure it wasn’t anymore bugs and a cockroach flew from behind the bed. We called security and we were told we were going to switch rooms but they didn’t called until we had already left. We ended up sleeping in the car for the night. In the morning, front desk just said they were going to get a professional to come out and clean it but was never offered a discount or some of our money back. NEVER COMING BACK!

We checked in with no problems then had to obtain parking passes from the most irritating mother and daughter. As soon as we opened the room door the phone is ringing again with them trying to get us to attend a timeshare which we’re not interested in as we have better deals than making a terrible decision and commitment monthly. She called back the next morning same crap. The shower door was basically sitting there off track I called they planned to come the next day but my husband put the door back on track. We asked for no housekeeping they entered anyway I called the front and he said he would look into it and call back. When he called back he said it was a error between communication with departments the front seat and housekeeping. Upon check out we noticed the breakfast and other things available NO ONE never said anything to us about WIFI breakfast nothing. I explained it to Brandy wow no one EVER told us about these things and I even called and spoke to the manager about housekeeping entering our room. Our lights where off for 5-6 hours. I asked to speak to the manager when I called and the male said this is him how can I help. Anyway, Ely had the nerve to call me and say I was told by Brandy that you told her I said I was the manager and I said this and I said that so I need to clarify somethings. WHAT!!!!! A employee called me asking me about issues I had. We had a fairly okay stay stuff is unprofessional and needs to be retrained.

Don’t stay here !!!!
Review of Grand Palms Resort
Pending review
Check in in day, we arrived about 2 hours early and were treated by a rude and disinterested front desk employee, who had no desire to assist us and made it clear she was bothered.
Second , the two bed room unit is listed as master bedroom with two “double beds “ in the second room. Let me inform you the second bedroom is neither a full size or double bed but rather a super single. No way two adults could sleep in one bed and it would be tight for two children. The room is sold as sleeps up to 8 . At best this unit would accommodate 5 and that would be tight.
Third, it’s advertised as a full kitchen , but what your not told is that if you want to cook anything you need to bring your own pots , pans and other kitchen items. The unit has 2 small frying pans , a cookie sheet, and 1 bowl. I have never stayed in such a sparsely supplied unit.
Fourth, roaches found in the bathroom tub. Not palmetto bugs ..roaches
Fifth, mid week linen services consists of a woman throwing a dirty old storage container of towels in front of our door.
Sixth the pool grill serves microwaved , reheated frozen food and then tries to sell you a reuseable cup takes your money for a beverage and tells you to walk to main office to get the reusable cup, on the other side of development .
Seventh , you advertise a breakfast buffet that consisted of powdered eggs, half raw sausage , and cold undercooked waffles.
We sit down for time share pitch we were tricked into , (we were told it was an RCI update by Wyndham , since your company now owns RCI. The salesman we sat with seemed genuinely concerned and had us fill out an incident report related to the problems. He then called his manager over to go over it , and no surprise , he refused to help by saying that Wyndham doesn’t own propert they just manage it. Seriously ? Your companies name is on everything here, the buildings , the vehicles, the uniforms worn by staff. But hey let’s pass the buck and blame the old company. Refuse to even fix any of the issues, lie and say it’s not your problem. Then tell us if we purchase into the Wyndham timeshare company then he can help us but otherwise there nothing he will do to help ....then we get ignored by your mgmnt staff. If you can’t supply decent customer service now, it will only get worse after you have our money. Your property manager here should be send to an intensive program on customer service .

This hotel was great for our party of 7! First let me say Michelle at the front desk was Awesome. When we first arrived we were greeted by a not so friendly employee. Midway through our transaction she picked up the phone and then Michelle walked in and thank goodness she did. She was so hospitable and accommodating. Gave recommendations and helped us with all of our questions. There was an issue with our reservation not being in the system yet she quickly found it and gave to the appropriate person to put in. Thank you for all of your help Michelle.

Yes, the decor was a little outdated but when traveling with kids it doesn’t matter much. The most important thing was the cleanliness and comfortability. Our villa met both. We were traveling during Covid so we expected to clean our room again before touching anything but the apartments type accommodations still felt thoroughly cleaned. We weren’t far from the outdoor pools which our kids loved. We also stayed on the second floor. We did not experience any bugs. There was a creek behind our hotel with turtles and ducks that we could see from the balcony. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, and plenty of closet space made my life so much easier during our stay!

My family and I really enjoyed Grand Palms. I exchanged through RCI and then paid a little extra to upgrade size and kitchen. The resort was clean and well kept. Maintenance was always around doing something. The staff was friendly and they had good facilities. The pools were clean and the kids area with lazy river was a family favorite. The resort offered state park passes on a daily first come, first serve basis which was a nice perk. The location is excellent with lots of food within easy drive. Myrtle itself is a bit of a drive but nothing too strenuous or time consuming. The beach shuttle was on time and easy to use. It puts you a couple blocks from so restaurants but in an area that isn’t too busy.
Upon other review recommendations, we unplugged the phone upon arrival so as not to be bothered about the timeshare presentations. No one ever came to the room, no room service was requested but when we needed extra sheets, they were brought by promptly. The upgrade to full kitchen was necessary with storing leftovers and extra food/snacks. It was fully stocked with pots/pans/supplies and we didn’t need to ask for or purchase anything. The walls are thin and you hear every step of someone is above you. If possible, get and end unit and/or 2nd floor. There were only stairs vice elevators so keep that in mind.
I would definitely return to this resort and recommend it. I can only speak to the 1 bedroom room but it was well sized and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home.

Where to start: walked into a hot, musty smelling room. I turned on the A/C and began unloading into the fridge. While eye level with the counter I noted crumbs and sticky stuff. I began to clean the counter And thought I should check the bed. What I found was a dirty headboard with mucus wiped on it, and unchanged sheets. I checked the toilet and found hair and fecal stains. No one prepared the room for our arrival, it was obvious.

This is a large studio with a window to the parking lot, no place to walk, and pools that are about 100 degrees (cesspools?). I guess kids would have a good time, but the room is dark and grimy. Far from the beach, no walkability.

We are leaving mid week, not staying our entire week, and we will checkinto another hotel. Needless to say, this place is not pandemic friendly. They also state they accept no responsibility if get ill during your stay, but if you are unfortunate enough to have booked here, bring the Lysol.

Not sure why this is only a RCI Silver Crown as it is as nice if not nicer than a lot of the Gold Crowns we've stayed at. Neat, clean, well maintained and close to the beautiful Garden City Beach. Unit was fresh, clean and well maintained. Unit colors, pictures and aesthetic details were some of the best we have seen. Beds, linens and towels were really nice. All staff was very quick to respond to our requests. Grounds were immaculate. Wyndam "presentation" was worth the golf deals, and we told them up front we were not buying. :) The only con would be the door between the lock off. It's really not sound proof enough. Also, construction was not an issue at all.
