Walked into the room at 9pm at night, light switch turned nothing on, tried the lamp, it also did not work. No remote to be found for TV. Upon checking why, the lamp & alarm clock were not functioning, they had been unplugged. Also located the remote - it was behind the night stand, with what appeared to be pizza...

Very big room. Two king beds which are very comfortable. Lots of space. The owners a extremely nice. Having a wonderful time here! We would definitely recommend this hotel. Continental breakfast available. Easy access to freeway.

Apparently this motel is under new ownership, since May or June 2016. The service has definitely declined. We had 2 rooms booked for 4 nights. While our room was clean when we arrived, it was never vacuumed nor was the bathroom cleaned during our 4 night stay. The Continental breakfast was almost non existent. No hot water for tea, juice...

The place as expected is old and outdated- but that is no excuse for moldy curtains and unvacuumed floors. If your staying in Parkston you don't have much for options but it seems at 87 bucks a night you might want to drive to Mitchell for a better stay

We stayed at the Horizinn at the end of October for 3 days. We stayed in the newer side of the Hotel and the rooms were nice enough and the service was good. We where hunting pheasants and the hotel had an area to clean the birds and a nice breakfast in the morning. I would recommend this place to...

The best thing this hotel has going for it is checkout time. My wife would never stay here. Toilet seats are loose. Doors don't lock. Remotes don't work. Curtain rods broke. Only half the hotel is useable. Hasn't improved since my grandpa stayed here in the 70's.

We stayed at the Dakota Horizinn over the 4th of July holiday to attend a family reunion. We were in the "new" building which had higher rates, but worth the difference as it was new. The only thing I would have liked was a coffee maker in each room. You did get a continental breakfast included in the rate, but...

I stayed from 10/16/12 through 1/2/13 due to working interim in the health field in the area. I couldn't have asked for better. Teresa(owners) showed up at my door one morning with a plate of Christmas cookies. She gave me directions to SiouxFalls on the backroads and saved me a ton of miles. I stayed in the newer building and...

We went to Parkston for a family reunion it is a small farming community. This hotel has a new part and an old section. We stayed in a newer room. It was clean, spacious and quiet. The housekeeping staff was on top of changing the towels and bedding - they even vacummed. I cannot complain about anything. The hotel is...

Some friends of mine and I stayed at the Dakota HorizInn motel, which has recently changed names from the Parkston Rainbow motel. The motel seems to cater to pheasant hunters, as they have a bird cleaning station in a separated room out back, along with a large freezer to store your game in. The owners were very helpful in recommending...

“If you have a dog you need to stay in the older section to keep the dog in your room.”

“There are two parts to the motel. The older part adjoining the main office (where pets are allowed), and the newer addition of a 2 story building. From what I can tell, the rooms in the new addition have quite a bit more space in the room, however, we did not have a fridge/microwave, while the rooms in the older part of the motel did.”
