We stayed 1 night in the spacious Birch cabin at this eclectic retreat in Spearfish Canyon in early September 2016. The drive up from Keystone through the Canyon (a national historic byway) was spectacular on a bright, sunny day. The owners Geoff and Lori were very gracious and helpful hosts, and have obviously put a lot of TLC into their... More

I wanted to stay in something different than a chain hotel, and this is located in such a beautiful area- Spearfish Canyon. Our cabin was renovated and nicely decorated. There was no tv, which was a nice change of pace. The continental breakfast served was very good and the host was incredibly nice. We felt very comfortable here.

We stayed 2 nights in the Aspen Cabin. It was truly quiet and peaceful place to stay in the black hills area. Lori and Geoff were so kind and helpful. The cabin was clean, bed comfortable, with its own microwave and refrig. We enjoyed quiet evenings on the deck listening to sounds of the nearby creek and scenery. It was... More

We stayed in the Marcus Edgerton suite for a little anniversary getaway. We were warmly greeted, shown around the suite, and instantly fell in love with the place. The suite was spotless and very comfortable. The surrounding is peaceful and beautifully set on a hill in the trees. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and all the special little touches around... More

We stayed in the Ponderosa Cabin in a beautiful wooded setting. The owners were more than willing to go out of there way to make our experience there a truly wonderful time. They are the most caring people you would ever want to meet. I highly recommend this lodge to everyone.

My family of four stayed in the Ponderosa for five nights. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Geoff and Lori were wonderful, gracious hosts. I booked a room at Rim Rock months ago and I built my family road trip in the Dakotas and surrounding area--around spending a night here. The owners of Rim Rock gave me valuable info on the area and helped me build my itinerary over email for several months. They pointed me towards what highways to take, what to see... More

For our third trip back to the Black Hills, we decided to stay in a cabin. We read the reviews on this place and they did not disappoint! Rim Rock is GORGEOUS! We stayed in the Spruce Cabin, which has the original, rustic charm on the outside but inside had been completely renovated to rustic elegance. The screened in back... More

This place absolutely took our breath away. My husband and I were looking for a place to stay while visiting Mount Rushmore. While Rim Rock is about an hour away from Rushmore, it was totally worth it. The lodge is tucked away in the Black Hills on top of a spectacular canyon. Our cabin had recently been remodeled with modern... More
