Our room had a nice view of the river, which we enjoyed. We also liked the area. It was a short walk to the aquarium and the downtown area. There is also a bike rental exchange stop in the hotel parking lot. We used this and would ride around the area. There are nice places to ride by the river also. We ate at the restaurant there which was tasty. The room itself was nice, but the couch bed was not my favorite. It was fine for an 11 year old. I also did not like the sliding bathroom doors for families with kids. The staff all seemed friendly. The pool had a sign up sheet, and the fitness room was closed. Parking was not free.

My family and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and the hotel was very nice..Fast check in/check out, friendly staff, clean room, and comfortable bed...The only drawback is that the hotel shares a parking lot with the restaurant attached to it so parking is very hard to find especially in the evening..So I think there should be free parking because of the inconvenience of looking for parking..the continental breakfast was looked good in my opinion being that we are in a pandemic..The breakfast consisted of bagels/english muffins individually wrapped and individual packets of oatmeal...Yogart, milk, and granola bars..I use Door Dash a lot and had breakfast delivered to me..Overall, we had a great stay and would stay here again...

Years ago I came to The Read House and didn't think there was a better hotel in Chattanooga. I was wrong. This place is a step above. Both places with great staff and clean rooms, but the Marriott on the river has the best view in Chattanooga, no other hotel compares. Being adjacent to one of the best restaurants in Chattanooga, Scotties on the River, you can't beat this place. Get a balcony room on the top floor, go by the restaurant, and you have no reason to leave the area. Must stay hotel. Some days it costs a little more than the other hotels, but you get what you pay for! Don't miss out on this place.

First of all, there is absolutely no where to park due to the busy restaurant attached. We had to leave our car by the entrance for valet or park at the top of the hill by the street. They did not tell us about the $10 per night parking fee that was charged to my card. I also bought two 20 ounce cokes and a large bottled water from the lobby as they do not have vending machines... was charged $12. The balcony room was $180 a night and we couldn't even lay in bed to watch tv because the tv could only be seen from sitting on the most uncomfortable couch.

U8638VKmelaniel - I'm sorry to hear you were surprised by the overnight parking fee. We do our best to inform all of our guests about this charge by posting it throughout our property, on the valet stand, and on all sites where reservations can be made for our property. The shared lot for the hotel and attached locally owned restaurant is separately owned and operated, which is why we must pass the parking charge along to our guests. The valet team is also always happy to valet your vehicle at no additional charge if there is a time that the self parking lot is full. I have spoken with the valet team to ensure they let all of our guests know this on nights that the restaurant is also very busy. I apologize for the difficulties of the TV placement in your guestroom. We have passed your feedback along to the SpringHill Suites brand design team so that it can be taken into account for future approved designs.

Room was large and clean and overall very comfortable! Bathroom was also large which doesn’t often happen in hotels so it was a pleasant surprise! Appreciated the small package of sanitizing wipes too as they’re perfect to tuck in a pocket or purse! We also ate in the restaurant attached and was disappointed in the lack of social distancing inside the restaurant. Signage stated masks were required and most wait staff wore them properly but there was one gal working neighboring tables whose gaiter was never up or staying on, thankful she wasn’t our waitress or I would ha e asked for someone else. I don’t find it appropriate to require masks and it’s not even followed by staff, poor example. Daughter enjoyed her mini corn on the cob called a cobbette and we asked if she could get another which they gladly obliged but then charged us $4 for the tiny 3in corn cob when the kids meal itself was only $7 to begin with, $4 is a bit ridiculous. Mentioning the price upon ordering would have been nice as we probably would have just ordered her another meal considering the cost! Breakfast was lack luster and I understand this is partially due to covid precautions so bagels and English muffins are in individual bags which is handy but then you’re left with one lousy two above toaster which didn’t want to work unless you held the knob down...this was problematic when others were trying to get their items and still try to social distance! Hotel needs to put utensils, plates and equipment separate from food items so people can access what they need instead of waiting 5 mins for a toaster to work. There was only orange juice, coffee and water to drink too...we were not impressed with breakfast but appreciate the attempt. Overall, I will gladly stay at another SpringHill hotel but will DoorDash our food!
