I always stay at the Oliver when I'm in Knoxville - which is often. I love the old-time comfort, the understated luxury, scale (only 2 flights of stairs to the top), the great location, the friendly and always-accommodating staff.

Being from Austin, we have certain tastes. For the 26th anniversary, we stayed at the Oliver. Think Driskill form back in the day. Upscale hotel, boutique rooms, great amenities, walk to some great bars and restaurants. If you've done Knoxville without it, you haven't done Knoxville.

Where do I start?! We decided to stay downtown for our 10 year anniversary, but had never stayed at The Oliver. Friends had told us it was amazing and that they really took care of the guests. We stayed in the honeymoon suite. It was amazing! My wife and I have three children, so having some real space (super high...

Having stayed there twice, I will use them on my next visit to Knoxville. The restaurant is superb and the prices are reasonable. Rooms are great and parking is valet. Staff is spectacular. I have just been in and out so not sure about location for specific use. There is a movie theatre 2 blocks away and an open square...

Super friendly and helpful staff, great room, and awesome location downtown make the Oliver one special hotel. Fresh chocolate brownies provided with turndown service were an unexpected treat and simply delicious. If you are planning to attend a concert at the Bijou Theater which was an easy walk from the hotel, the Oliver Hotel is the only place you should...

A beautiful hotel with a fun staff. It was a complete dream, I felt like a Princess. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Located in a great area to get out and walk and enjoy the local scene. I love this and highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding. The valet parked our car and we were upgraded to a king room right away. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were given two complimentary cocktail cards at check-in. Our room was clean, cozy, and romantic. We were within walking distance to our ceremony site by the...

We took a group of 12 people to the Liberty Bar/Speakeasy last Friday night ,what a great evening. We got there early around 630 so no crowds at that time but it got crowded within an hour or so. It was a pleasure watching the bartenders prepare the drinks, they are experts. The only downside I could see was you...

Older hotel that has been refurbished and is really elegant. The front desk staff were terrific and helpful. Our room was beautiful and spacious and we slept really well on the huge bed. We will definitely return.

We chose The Oliver due to it's location near Market Square. We loved the quaint feel and the helpful staff. We valet parked our car as our plans kept us within walking distance. There are many restaurants and shops nearby as well as The Tennessee Theater and a Regal Cinema. We recommend The Oliver over any downtown hotel we have...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of Knoxville just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Market Square, The Oliver Hotel is an original expression of the city. Originally built in 1876 as the Peter Kern Bakery, the building had hosted everything from the Kern's candy counter and soda fountain to a drugstore, and dancing hall. In 2011, the property was renovated into what is now Knoxville's best boutique hotel with a style that plays tribute to the buildings history, while offering guests rooms with charm, sophistication, and modern amenities. The property features the Peter Kern Library Bar, a craft cocktail lounge; Tupelo Honey Cafe, an award winning restaurant; and Oliver Royale Restaurant, featuring a chef driven menu and bar. ... more   less
