I would highly recommend The Oliver! Very personal service, being such a small hotel. The rooms are decorated in a cool retro style and The Library speakeasy off the lobby is delightful. I look for reasons to visit Knoxville just to stay at The Oliver!

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was large and comfortable and, although it was close to the local bars and cafes, we were not disturbed by noise. The staff were friendly and the Continental breakfast, included in the price, served good coffee, fruit and pastries. We considered it to be good value and would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend of our wedding. We got married on Sunday but stayed there Saturday night in separate rooms, we had the king suite and bridal suite. The rooms were great and beds were super comfortable. AJ and Laura were nothing short of amazing! They really worked with us on our schedule and just...

In Knoxville for the annual Rhythm N' Blooms Music Festival. Stay at the Oliver. The place is great. Great location, great rooms, great service. Right on Market Square. We will not stay anywhere else when in Knoxville.

I found this place on TA for a trip south and it is a delight. Easy to find, valet parking at a reasonable price, and the welcome sugar cookies delivered to the room was special. I enjoy small hotels that have been redone with a good sense of design. They have all the details right, beginning with a warm, hipster...

The Oliver hit all the right buttons for us: a beautifully-executed, nearly-new hotel inside an historic building, caring (and tres-hip, millennial) staff, nice touches (ice and house made chocolate treats delivered to rooms in the evening) and located right in the heart of entertainment and great restaurants. We were bowled over by the entire experience, and loved watching our craft...

We booked an overnight stay in December. We were seeing a show at Tennessee Theatre. The Oliver is roomy, clean and everything you would expect from a boutique hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were able to make the most of our time by being in walking distance of restaurants and shopping.

I loved everything about The Oliver. I was on business but felt like a little vacation get away. The "smallness" of the hotel reminded me of a small European hotel. Front desk and valet (names escape me now) were fantastic. Knew our names, room numbers, car, etc. When we arrived we only had about an hour before we had to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of Knoxville just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Market Square, The Oliver Hotel is an original expression of the city. Originally built in 1876 as the Peter Kern Bakery, the building had hosted everything from the Kern's candy counter and soda fountain to a drugstore, and dancing hall. In 2011, the property was renovated into what is now Knoxville's best boutique hotel with a style that plays tribute to the buildings history, while offering guests rooms with charm, sophistication, and modern amenities. The property features the Peter Kern Library Bar, a craft cocktail lounge; Tupelo Honey Cafe, an award winning restaurant; and Oliver Royale Restaurant, featuring a chef driven menu and bar. ... more   less
