Great location. The rooms were excellent- very clean, nice amenities, great shower/bathroom area, cool renovation accents. The front desk and cleaning staff were helpful and friendly. A well done renovation. We had never been in Knoxville, this was a great introduction.

The Oliver is located downtown in a very good area , resturants within walking distance. But the major features ;this hotel is well maintained, lobby is small but nicely appointed. The hallways appear to have new carpet and the walls freshly painted. Our room, the Oliver Suite , was large, comfortable and we'll decorated. They had a variety of refreshments...

I've stayed at this hotel several times and always enjoy my accommodations. The rooms are comfortable, the location is excellent and the staff is friendly and professional. I enjoy relaxing at the Peter Kern Library 'Speakeasy' and investigating all the dining options in the immediate area. Terrific place to stay!

The Oliver Hotel just off of Market Square is a convenient, attractive, and comfortable treat in downtown Knoxville. We appreciated the helpful staff who helped us find our room and enjoy the tasteful bar. They even have umbrellas in the closet along with the usual amenities. We will stay there again!

Furnishings seemed updated and in good condition. Bathroom was spacious and tasteful. Enjoyed walking the neighborhood in the evening and choosing from among several...

My husband and I were in town a day early for a family reunion and decided to try the Oliver Hotel based on positive reviews and their website. Well.... the experience exceeded our expectations. The Oliver Suite was gorgeous. Extremely high ceilings and decorated with impeccable taste. The staff reinforced the slogan about southern hospitality and the lounge was hip...

We found The Oliver Hotel a quiet and relaxed island right in the middle of the downtown Knoxville scene. The restoration is very well done creating an environment of times gone by. The room was spacious with a bed as comfortable as our own. The view was wonderful. I cannot say enough about the staff, always asking if they could...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of Knoxville just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Market Square, The Oliver Hotel is an original expression of the city. Originally built in 1876 as the Peter Kern Bakery, the building had hosted everything from the Kern's candy counter and soda fountain to a drugstore, and dancing hall. In 2011, the property was renovated into what is now Knoxville's best boutique hotel with a style that plays tribute to the buildings history, while offering guests rooms with charm, sophistication, and modern amenities. The property features the Peter Kern Library Bar, a craft cocktail lounge; Tupelo Honey Cafe, an award winning restaurant; and Oliver Royale Restaurant, featuring a chef driven menu and bar. ... more   less
