Myself and two of my friends decided to go to the new restaurant to try the menu. We all ordered burgers which came out dripping in grease. The portion of chips was tiny. Service was very slow, waited 25 minutes for our food to arrive then were left sitting with our empty plates for 35 minutes until we eventually just...

Good, hearthy meal that all family enjoyed. No scrimping on portion sizes. Served by lovely lady called Kathleen who ensured we were happy with service & meal. Comfortable surroundings with pleasant ambience - price was reasonable.

Staying in Donegal we headed out for a long drive. Stopped here for a coffee and just to relax. There are renovations going on which was fine. There were a few people serving. A more mature lady who was friendly. We got served by Sinead. From chatting to other customers she said she was the owners daughter. She was not...

I spent a night here while walking around Ireland in aid of Pieta House and they kindly offered to put me up for the night! I found the hotel itself extremely charming; in a time where it seems every hotel is starting to look the same, the Highlands has held on to its own warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are...

Back again for another stay at the Highlands and we were not disappointed. Despite all the major renovations going on the hotel was a good as ever! Our rooms were warm and clean, a little dated but nice and clean. The staff in the hotel are more than friendly and will go out of their way to do anything for...

We called there during a family trip to Donegal on our way to Dungloe. Food was good, service was slow and the disabled toilet facilities are a disgrace. The people who own this hotel should borrow a wheelchair and try to utilise these facilities themselves. Its amazing what can pass for disabled access in this instance. We won't be calling...

We travel to Glenties about once a month and always stay in the Highlands Hotel. The staff here are so approachable and always happy to help. Nothing is a problem and the service in the restaurant/ bar area is great too. The menu has lots of selection.. but I always go for the seafood plate as it is just delicious-...

I was with a party of bikers on a tour of Donegal, so I had no choice as to where we stayed, but his place was "just the ticket", a real Irish welcome, basic, well run, clean, nothing was "a bother", strong shower, comfortable bed, generous helpings of food & fast service in the restaurant, great value, good cooked breakfast,...

After a day on the beach, we dropped in for a bite to eat and we're very happy with what we found. Very friendly and helpful staff and some of the tastiest chowder I've ever tried. Minor disappointment because the homemade apple pie was sold out but will just have to return again :) Live music to enjoy also Well...
