Detailed Reviews
The sites are large and well kept. Really nice people in the front office and on the grounds. The beach is nicely capped with white sand and very friendly to families since it is a roped off area to ensure boats do not get too close. If you need help, they are willing!!

This is a great campsite which is close to the greater Knoxville area. All the times I have stayed here it is extremley neat and the campsite hosts are always there with a freindly smile. Boating , fishing and kayaking is all at your fingertip. The bathhouse and restrooms are always top notch and most campers take into account the relaxing setting. A true hidden gem that I have been fortunate to have spend time there now and 45 years ago with my grandparents.

Campground well managed and kept up.
Teams of campground hosts are great.
Only one issue that is not the responsibility of the Mgmnt. Company.
TVA must repair/replace the faulty drain line at the campground upper restroom/shower facility. It has had this issue for several years and is a health concern/issue. The sewage backs up into the drains of the shower floors. This is NOT acceptable especially from a major government agency like the Tennessee Valley Authority.

The success of this campground has got to be because of the campground managers Lloyd and Shelley. They take such hood care of the campers snd the huge campground along with only one other host couple Joe and Kathy.
This year (have never seen any managers do this) they are having 2 nights for trick or treating! They have decorated the entrance for fall and truly amazing. This campground used to have 2-3 campground host couples but Lloyd and Shelley have been, at times it!
The new bath house is a great addition.
I also need to give Shelby a shout out. She works the office. đź‘Źđź‘ŹCongratulations on a great season.

This park is very well maintained. The campground hosts are available and friendly. Our campsite (#30) was pristine and roomy. We have a smaller camper at 20' - more than enough room to expand the Awning with room to spare for the picnic area (which we did not need). There is lots of room between campsites with as much privacy one will find in a campground. We did not use the restroom facilities, but they were very near by and accessible. The park attracts people of all ages. There were younger people playing basketball and the swim area is perfect to wade out and splash and swim. There is a nearby boat dock for ease of boating. (We didn't bring our boat, but have often used this dock. Our only complaint is the fact that often times wave-runners race about in the area adjacent to the boat ramp causing difficulty at times in loading boat back on our boat trailer.

one our favorite campgrounds we try to go at least 1x a yr, been going for 20 yrs , only issue was poor quality of firewood sold , just doesnt light or burn good and been to several vista parks so they share same poor quality firewood. other than that we like it there and will continue to go there. I good plus is the free day use area's not required to be a paid camper and can visit any time is a good thing .

We have been camping here for many years(around 5 to 6) and we love it every single time. Whenever we need a camping fix that is not far from our home in Polk County, TN, this is where we choose. The host's are always nice, the campground is always clean, and the other people in the campground are very respectful. We have never had any complaints. My guys love to fish, I love to kayak and we love to cook outside on the grill. I work in the public, so I am looking for time away to chill and relax. This is the place to come.

Clean campground near the water. This is basically a campground of convenience for boaters or fishermen or (in our case) triathletes and their supporters. The campsites are packed into a small and very hilly area that is not particularly pretty. Parking is very limited and so are the spaces for parking an RV or trailer. Otherwise, it was okay.

The new managers have returned the sense of community in this lovely campground. The grounds are being maintained beautifully and the bath houses are cleaned throughout the day. Melton HIll Dam Campground has struck gold with this year's employees who not just say, but who model their desire to make the guests' camping experience pleasant as well as create the campers' desire to return for another visit.
