Love this place!!! It is a beautiful maintained place...the bathhouse is cleaned daily they are clean as a whistle!!! They have a washer & dryer too! we also had fun We have a sweet sentimental boy!!! And who could pass up a tootsie pop?!!!!canoeing around the pond. While we were there we took our Family Pictures because it is such a beautiful location!!! We never had a problem but saw the owner throughout the day on his Segway buzzing around. It is a nice Christian campground, the pool is even shaped like a Jesus Fish!!!!

This is our favorite place to spend quality family time!!! Our creekside site was just lovely! the bath house was nice and clean. We had a great time swimming, playing tether ball, canoeing and we even got to do a little catch and release fishing in the pond! And I can't forget the quackers (ducks) they are so friendly they eat out of our hand!! They even have a washer & dryer! It's not to far from town where there is lots of options for shopping & restaurants. Such a treasure!

The CRICKET is a beautiful quiet campground a short drive from the interstate. Amazing pull thru sites on a spring fed creek. Quick and easy self check in. Nicely maintained area as well as bathhouse. Sparkling pool in the shape of a fish. Great place for family reunions. Easy access to shopping in Lenoir city and many fun things to do nearby. Washer dryer on site. No camp store but markets close by.

We visited the campground to explore sites for a possible visit. After driving around, we saw enough to know this was not a place where we would return. It has great potential, but unfortunately, it is rundown. Several trailers were permanently placed and poorly maintained around them. One appeared to have been abandoned. Also, it appeared that utility workers were living in trailers. This could be a great family campground, but it is not that at all at this time. I would not stay here.

We do have both a long term section and an overnight or weekly section. Thank you for pointing out to us that the two areas are not well enough defined by signage.

I don't know much about the camping experience here but from what I saw and have heard from others, it would be a cool place to go camping. I was there to take photos of the mill that is there. The mill use to have a restaurant in it but has been closed for what looked like quiet a while. The mill itself is still in pretty good shape and looked to be well maintained. I really enjoyed photographing this beautiful piece of history.

The road coming into this park was one lane with no place to pull over to let any one pass. I was scared I would meet some one as I was pulling a 5th wheel rv an would not have been able to back up the mile that it was. The campground was cute and at one time there were two stocked fish ponds one with trout and one with catfish. You would catch your fish and the restaurant would cook them for you. Some years ago the restaurant closed. They do have a nice pool and a babbling brook which was by our camper. Our dog loved to chase the ducks back into the pond.

Your GPS directs you in by the shortest route,;but you are correct, it is definitely not a road for an RV to be on. Both our phone message and website warn people not to go by their GPS ,but instead follow the Interstate and Highway signs. There are also directions and a map on our website. We are sorry you had this problem and hope you followed the wider road out the next day.

Have been looking for a campground near Oak Ridge and Knoxville TN and from the reviews on TripAdvisor I thought Crosseyed Cricket might be a good possibility. I failed to note the very old dates of the comments so I was very disappointed this week when we made a visit prior to making arrangements to camp there. A number of years ago this was probably a campground I would have loved to stay at, but currently Crosseyed Cricket has changed from an active family campground into a population of full time residents. Its old charm has been dimmed, as campers with attached decks, plumbed in water and waste water connections and trailers that have the abandoned look with layers of dirt and leaves covering them has ended its potential for weekend or pleasure camping There are a few open spots that are very unkept. there is no signage for the campground and it is evident it has turned into a permenant resident type of camping arragement. For those looking for a functioning and active campground Crosseyed Cricket isn't it, and that is a loss.

Over several years we have camped at the Crosseyed Cricket, sometimes as a couple , sometimes as a caravan of 3 RVs including 2 5th wheels over 30 ft and a smaller one . This is not a hotel but a camping ground. Consistent cleanliness , rural old fashioned retreat , well stocked fishing spot, swimming pool , surroundings peaceful and welcoming . The grist mill is fine example of hand built structures, beautifully preserved. The hook-ups for electricity , water and sewer worked with our equipment very well . We left the windows open to hear the music of stream , frogs and crickets when our visit was in warm weather . This campground is unique and very special to us.

Stayed here for 4 months for work. Very quiet and peaceful, feel like I had the best lot. Owners were very friendly and made sure everything was ok with the site. At checkout there was a minor error which Mrs Lockwood quickly took care of. Look forward to my return.
