Stayed for 10 days in both September and November/December. In two different rooms. The latter in a recently refurbished one which now has air conditioning instead of a radiater. If looking at any downside, the shower is situated inside the bath,so you have to climb in to shoiwer.I

I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. We were staying for a combined business and leisure stay and were welcomed with an unannounced early check in as if it were no problem at all. All the staff were helpful and very pleasant and the restaurant staff went out of their wa

My second visit to Guernsey, first stay at this marvelous hotel.

After 20+ hours of travel, I was looking for QUIET and a helpful staff. Found both the Hotel de Havelet. My room was on the ground level, overlooking the terrace and (indoor) pool. It was quite small, with a twin

The hotel is an older style but all facilities are up to date. The rooms are well equipped clean and comfortable. Ours was on a lower level so it didn't have much day light but not a problem if you dont spend too long in it. The pool and spa area was clean towels were available a

It looks tiny, and it's definitely for just one person. But there's a large armoire, a desk & chair, and an excellent bathroom. Plus, it's super-quiet and private. I would ask for this room again! (#15)

I am coeliac and require a completely gluten-free diet. This includes the risk of cross-contamination from utensils, surfaces, pans etc... I am also vegetarian. Can this hotel provide me with a safe diet?
Hi I really can't remember but do call them. They were very helpful and accommodating when we were there. Also, is it worth posting something on the Guernsey trip advisor forum? You might get advice from local people in terms of other places to eat.

Can your family rooms fit five (2 adults, three children) - or do you offer a family suite option with a double bed and three singles? Even happy to pay extra for an extra bed if necessary.
Sorry, I can't really help with this question. I don't recollect any children staying during this period. I do know they have some good size rooms. Recommend you contact the hotel directly. They're very helpful.

Hello, I am a solo traveller and am wondering about the size of the single rooms at Hotel De Havelet? To have a double for single occupancy I would prefer but it works out rather expensive for 7 nights when you add on the airfare as well. This would be for a week in October 2016. Thank you.
From memory, they have 2x single rooms - 1 in the courtyard and one in the main house. Our daughter has stayed in both and they're both good although I recall that the courtyard one was a bit gloomy; the one in the main house was fine and they've been refurbishing everywhere but can't say whether this has included the single rooms - knowing them, I expect they have. Like others, cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially the staff and their general attitude. It's a bit of a steep climb up Havelet Hill on foot but not too far and they do have a hotel mini bus at times!!

...there was a posting somewhere about a shuttle bus? When does this service end and how frequent are they? Thank you
Currently the bus operates from 1st April until end of October. The first run is at 9.40 to the town and the ferries to Herm/Sark, from Hotel de havelet. Then 10.40 to the Bus Terminus and the town centre. There would be a pick up from the Bus station back to De Havlet at about 10.15 and from the town centre at 12.30. There is another pick up from the ferry drop off and bus station at around 5.30 .. The service operates Monday - Saturday but not on Sundays

"Ask for high room"
"They provide buses down to the front but the walk down is lovely. Trip back is somewhat uphill!"
"Ask for a high room for views down to the harbour."
"Small hotel, situated in a quiet location i.e. no traffic, it is a few minutes from town centre up a hill, they do provide a courtesy bus."
