We returned once again this year for our second visit to the Henley to accept Petra's hospitality and Martyn's great cooking. Everything about the place is first class - location, views, cleanliness, comfort, food, old worldly atmosphere - making it like a home from home. Our dog, Daisy, too enjoys her visits here. And in lighter evenings, looking from the... More

All bedrooms have a wonderful view. Very well appointed room and bathroom. Martin & Petra provide the most delicious dinners as well as friendly and helpful local advice. Comfortable sitting room with numerous magazines and books. The path down to the beach direct from the hotel was a great bonus for us making it so easy to walk along the... More

My friend and I needed to use a phone to call a taxi and we came across the Henley hotel owned by Petra and Martin and their wonderful daughter. What a fabulous holiday we have just had at this hotel. Wonderful staff, fabulous food and a perfect home from home feel for both myself and my husband and our two cocker spaniels. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of travelling to Devon with dogs.

Nothing was too much trouble and to top it all the weather was settled and warm for our entire stay. We have already booked provisionally for next year so Look forward... More

Doesn't look terribly exciting from the outside but inside is one of the best small hotels we have ever stayed in at this level. Our corner room was spacious with good views either side overlooking the bay and Burg island. The bathroom was freshly decorated with a good sized bath and there was a tea tray with a teapot ,fresh milk etc.... We stayed at the Henley as we had a family wedding to attend and wanted a dog friendly hotel with a personal touch. Everything about the Henley exceeded our expectations, lovely room, charming hosts and delicious food - we only wish we could have stayed longer, and will certainly return.

My husband and I with our little Dachshund had stayed here before and I knew that this was the place to celebrate my 50th birthday. With a wonderful group of 10 dear friends we had the place to ourselves for two evenings Martyn and Petra were brilliant, they arranged afternoon tea on both days, a champagne reception and of course... Martin and Petra are exceptional hosts and their hotel provides a wonderful break. Well equipped rooms have stunning views, comfortable beds and modern en suite bathrooms, plus flat screen TV. Martin's cooking is top notch and dining in the conservatory lounge is a lovely experience. The two star rating suggests that the inspector had no idea what he was looking... More
