Attended a Wedding reception , food was excellent probably best ever had at a Wedding function, Wedding Organisation was also excellent and staff very attentive. Rooms could do with a little updating but everything else made up for that and bfast was also excellent.

Been here before but upgrade to almost everything since last visit must have cost a bomb.... Excellent improvements. Twin rooms still available, important as many hotels going to double bedded rooms which is inconvenient when travelling with friends and not family..... Animal

The Dartmoor Lodge is our favourite place to go for a meal. The staff are especially welcoming and the food is exceptionally good value. We always have the carvery which is fabulous with four meats and lots of well cooked vegetables. A quality location such as this deserves good

Damaged and old-fashioned furniture.
Is the hotel convenient for visiting Channings Wood prison?
Newton Abbott, is only a short distance away, so if you have your own transport it should be OK, but if using public transport they may be places to eat, Denbury is located between Dartmoor Lodge and Newton Abbot. Some of the road in the area can be a little challenging, so if you are not happy with single track roads and possible reversing if you meet traffic, take care on the roads you chose once of the main road.

This is set on it's own. Some people say it's about a mile or so into Buckfastleigh but I'd say thats a pretty long mile !!! It would be a long walk about 20-30 mins to reach town centre at a leisurely stroll however there is a really good, modern garage yards away which sell food etc rather ike a mini market. A bus stop outside the lodge and it's very central for getting onto the moors if you have a car . Infact it's the nearest lodge before getting onto the moors.
