Spent a night here when having an evening meal on the Dart Valley Railway dining train. Helpful host, good directions, a nearby village pub, a comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast. Well located for exploring in the South Hams, or going up onto Dartmoor. Decoration was slightly quirky, (we were in the 'butterfly room') but that is only a matter... More

We did the Two Moors Way and stayed one night in the double room. Ideally situated off of the trail in a small, sleepy village so the area was very quiet. The double room is very small as is the shower. The owners are lovely people who put on a fantastic breakfast. I had a reaction to the allergens in... More

On arriving at the Barn and being greeted by the wonderful Pat & Andy and being welcomed into what I can describe as a wonderful almost boutique style room (THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED EVER!!!) we endeavoured to hit the moors and with Pat's local knowledge visited some of the most tranquil, truly stunning pieces of the national park (highly recommend... Enjoyed our two night stay here and reasonable value with good breakfast. Very friendly and good pub short walk away and also another nice pub and community shop in neighbouring Holne village. Good for accessing moors. Only problem was cockerel crowing outside window at dawn but thats the countryside !

We stayed here recently for two nights and enjoyed our time. Nothing special it does exactly what it says on the tin. A reasonable breakfast and comfortable beds at an average price. The owners were keen to please and can book supper in the local inn. WIFI most appreciated. Would be a useful base from which to explore the moor.

Stayed one night on our 2 Moors Walk. The Barn is right on the route and Andy was very welcoming when we arrived. The room was large with attached shower and loo and well appointed - including torch and plug adapter, nice touches. Met Pat at breakfast, again very friendly and the tick list the night before to order breakfast... More

I stayed just 1night whilst working in the area. I found this a very comfortable and good sized room. A very quiet location. Very clean. I liked the breakfast tick list, so you select just what you want the evening before. The breakfast was cook perfectly. The parking is limited.

I recently stayed here for six nights. A nice relaxed welcoming atmosphere in a very quiet and well-hidden spot. Breakfasts were excellent and well presented and with a good choice. The bed was very comfortable. My only reservations are that the plumbing is rather noisy and the en-suite very cramped. For my taste there are far too many ornaments and... More

I stayed 3 nights at The Barn. Located within beautiful Devon countryside in a traditional farming village. Pat & Andy made me very welcome. Ideal place to visit the heart of Devon without the hassle of towns & cities. If you want to go to a town, Exeter, Torquay, Newton Abbot & Plymouth are all within a 30 minute drive.... More
