Lydford Country House is an absolutely wonderful luxury B&B. I am so pleased to have found this gem of a place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The booking runs like clockwork and very professionally handled. Our extra requests (prosecco) were sorted without any trouble. Breakfast was very good as well. The room was decorated to a very high...

Bed and breakfast? - not for me. Then I booked the Lydford House. It was a hotel at least since 1906 when double rooms were three bob (15p) a night, and gentlemen could use the smoking room to relax. Smoking now is firmly barred by the owners who took over the house in November 2014. They don't provide evening meals...

We spent 4 nights in Lydford country house during August. We had a good sized family room with a small twin room off the main double connected by an open archway. The house had beautiful gardens and a lovely dining room where a varied breakfast was served. The staff at breakfast were friendly though sometimes our cooked orders got a...

Our room was on the ground floor overlooking a beautiful country garden, It was excellent, clean and simple in a tasteful unfussy way. The staff were both helpful (advising on a very good restaurant for our evening meal), polite and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and served in a very pleasant dining room. We only stayed for one night on...

A lovely hotel, very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. The only area for improvement was the water pressure which did not allow for a good shower in the morning. Otherwise excellent and enjoyable stay.

We stayed one night here and absolutely loved it. From check - in to check - out the staff were amazing. Our room was lovely, ensuite with a stand alone bath tub. There was plenty of tea and coffee as well as some biscuits on arrival. The house and grounds are beautiful especially when waking up in the morning. Also...

We stayed one night on our bike trip along the coast-to-coast. It was a great location, just next to the start of the Lydford to Okehampton trail. Really comfortable rooms, friendly service and a great breakfast to start the day too. Walking distance to a lovely pub in town, the Castle Inn, which did some really good food too. A...

Stayed for one night during out trip around the West Country. Tucked away and alot smaller than I thought, an observation not an issue! Our room was lovely, eat your dinner off the floor clean!. TV was pants though, needed replacing. Enjoyed a peaceful stay. Breakfast was probably one of the best during our trip. The staff (especially lady with...
