I decided on a nice getaway deep in the middle of nowhere and this hotel certainly fits the bill sat right in the centre of Dartmoor. My partner is a vegan so I decided to email the hotel ahead of arrival to see if they can accommodate her requirements. I was promptly replied to with a menu and an option....

This was a comfortable base for walking, with beautiful grounds . The views from dining room were lovely and breakfast was a delight. Our room was warm, nicely furnished and we enjoyed the more vintage bath.

We had a happy stay here, and enjoyed our large room (Heron) with its lovely views. This is an unpretentious small hotel, but comfortable and well appointed without being what one might call luxurious or stylish. The food is good. We stayed three nights and all the meals were well cooked, with large portions designed to please walkers. Spicy tuna...

I have been to this little delightful hotel twice now. Nestled on the side of the Dart valley it is a charming small hotel surrounded by woodland and with nothing to disturb the peace bar the rush and tumble of the River Dart as it rushes on down the valley. The hotel rooms come in various sizes, they are nicely...
