Not our first visit to the Plume and it won't be the last. We had a family gathering last weekend and ordered dinner as usual. Great food and one of our group commented that the bacon cheese burger was probably the best she had ever had. I would like to thank the staff especially Briony(hopefully spelling is correct). Great food,... More

We were camping in the field at the back of the pub, and were joined by lots of DofE expeditions. The facilities were basic and clean. Combined with the price, this was perfect for us. It is surrounded by lots of walking opportunities, even if the weather can be dodgy. The food inside is all good, and the pub has... More

Two nights camping here for Dartmoor was a brilliant decision. The campsite itself is basic but spot on value for money. The pub is superb. The staff are the friendliest, most welcoming and relaxed I have come across and a credit to the business. The pub was warm, comfortable, clean and in the classic "Moorland" vein. Our meal on the... Great location for exploring Dartmoor - leave the hotel and start walking on Dartmoor. Food was good. Room was great value. Visitors centre across the road. Ample free parking. Close to Dartmoor prison which has a boding presence.

Stopped here for single night before a days walking on the moor. Bunkhouse is cheap at £18 a night plus a big breakfast for a fiver if booked the night before. I was one of only 2 in the bunk house as the B&B was full, as was the other bunk house, I think. If you are on a budget... More

Room was clean and warm. Food is excellent and portion size is large. I can well recommend the Beefsteak Ale and Stilton Pie, it was great I would advise all Americans to try a really outstanding pie. The beer is very good as well great selection.

We camped here for two nights at the end of August. The campsite is a bit slopy but is ideal for anyone looking for a good access to the moor, a cozy pub and hot showers. The campsite is dog and child friendly and has some very vocal neighboring cockerels so don't expect a lay-in if your sleeping under canvas.... More

If you're walking on Dartmoor this isn't a bad place to stay, with a variety of accommodation options from camping to the bunkhouse to B&B. I stayed in the bunkhouse (in the late 1990s and again) this time. The bunkhouse is basic (foam mattress, "curtain" on elastic slider, etc), but also commensurate with the budget. There's a kitchen area with... More

We stayed here camping for 2 nights 17th & 18th August. There is 1 big field and 1 smaller field. We chose the smaller as you aren't able to park next to your tent in the the bigger field. Check in was quick and friendly in the pub and as soon as we had our permit we were free to... More
