What a wonderful place for a gathering. Lots of space, comfy beds, a delightful garden and a warm welcome. The dogs loved exploring the garden, the children made good use of the trampoline and the adults really enjoyed the cosy farmhouse kitchen and the comfy sofas by the fire. A great area for walks, wildlife and wonderful huge starry skies....

We, a group of 8 walkers, were very impressed with Lower Blackaton and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Both the kitchen with aga and the lounge with a log burner were very spacious and yet cosy and the house had a lovely atmosphere, it couldn't have been better for our group and we very much enjoyed our stay....

Lower Blackaton is a wonderful house in a stunning location. Amazing walks for those feeling active, idilic views and a sense of being in its own little bubble without being to far away from civilization to feel isolated. The house is cosy and extremely welcoming, it is clear from the moment you walk in you are in a loving home...

Perfectly comfortable for our group of 7 male cyclists. Kitchen has an Aga which our chefs found fun to use. It's not the most modern of places in terms of finish but it met our needs in space and location. Internet flipped out one night but not a big issue.

Why buy a holiday home when there are places as homely as this to stay. This house is amazing. We stayed here as a group of 3 families, 6 adults and 5 children. There was plenty of room and we will definitely be going as a group again.

We arrived after a hard days walking - 9 rather wet and weary ladies. We had a wonderful welcome from Judy and David and the whole stay was fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble. Judy cooked us a lovely fish pie and a cottage pie for supper - delicious. The breakfast was fabulous too. The house is very comfortable and...

This is our second stay here and it feels like returning home. Good location: only a few minutes outside of Widecombe in the moor. The breakfast is 'top notch', ask Judy for the scrambled eggs, very tasty. Mmmm

The kitchen is the heart of this charming home, with a large gathering table, an Aga to keep you warm - and every conceivable cooking implement. Very homey- lots of books, puzzles, music and games kept all ages busy. The layout was perfect because it gave everyone their own space as well as places to gather. It is a perfect base...

Stayed here at Easter, 3 generations of the family met for a bit of a do. Absolutely first rate. Judy and David were lovely and provided the most wonderful experience from start to finish. I would recommend it for a great break in any weather (the wood burners and Aga compensate for any cold weather). So many positive aspects to...

I've just returned home from my stag weekend at Lower Blackaton and I must say it was perfect from start to finish. Judy, who owns the house with her husband David, was extremely efficient and helpful in replying to my (many) emails when I was arranging the trip, and both went out of their way to make sure my mates...
