We stopped in here for lunch, having walked up the very pretty East Lyn River from Lynmouth. It's a grand walk (even in the rain) and lunch at the Staghunters was the icing on the cake. The barman was very friendly and welcoming (despite the fact we were all fairly damp) and the food was enjoyable. The soup was reportedly...

This is a wonderful place hidden in a valley below the main road with a stream flowing out to sea at Lynmouth and a wooded steep sided valley protecting you from the winds of the high moor. Choose a room with a balcony and you are awakened in Spring by the sounds of lambs and a strengthening morning chorus. This...

I have just returned from a short break with my family as it was my 50th birthday celebration and I would just like to say what a fantastic place it was. Richard, family and staff were so welcoming and did their best to ensure that we had everything we needed and we felt very much at home. The rooms and...

My wife and I have just returned from a weekend at The Staghunters. We were there for my better halves cousins wedding. From the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends returning to visit. Richard, his son Simon and the rest of the staff are all friendly and very helpful. The food was plentiful, and pretty darn tasty...

We walked from Lynmouth up the river towards Brendon and got waylayed en route and by the time we reached the pub it had closed. The Landlord had seen us and I think he spotted we were absolutely knackered. He came out and asked if we were OK. We weren`t really, we were worrying about it getting dark on the...

Although we haven't stayed, we have eaten at The Staghunters on numerous occasions over the years. It has always been a friendly atmosphere and we have always had good food and good value for money. The fact that they are dog and child friendly is also a bonus. If you go on the third Saturday of the month, the local...

We stayed for a long weekend which unfortunately wasn't long enough! Our room was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, complete with its own balcony looking over the gardens to the views beyond. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly - absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure we had everything we needed and the delicious home-cooked...

I stayed here with my boyfriend and our dog in late September 2012, for two nights. First impressions - a large pub in a riverside location in a small village. It had a lively bar when we arrived around 7pm and a lot of patrons had dogs - we had found the place through TripAdvisor's Pet Friendly listings. We were...

We agree - there is always room for improvement, which is why over the past 6 years or so, we have had an ongoing programme of refurbishment which will continue, and why we appreciate feedback and constructive criticism from our guests. It has taken you 4 months to compile your review, so we feel the least we can do is...
