There was a warm welcome on arrival, coffee available for early birds and a lovely log fire in the lounge. The organisation was excellent and everything happened according to schedule. It was lovely for all 54 members to be in the same dining room; the staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful and managed very well serving such a large number...

This is just the place to stay for a completely relaxing break at any time of year. In November the weather was very damp and misty but the open fires and efficient heating, together with the warm welcome from Andrew made us feel comfortable and at home at once. Although our party of four had the place to ourselves for...

Only two other guests but they had a big party the night before - murder mystery I think. it is a small personal hotel where they will do their best to make you comfortable. No lager taps on the bar but big range of spirits that encourage you to drink. Two log fires and a collie on the rug what...

We were shown to our room, which was lovely, spacious and well appointed with a four poster bed and en suite bathroom. We arrived in the dark, so were...

We stayed in one of the cottages. Nicely equipped and spacious. No probs. We are in the restaurant twice, good menu and nice service. We liked the lounge and open fires. Full moon so unfortunately no star gazing. Excellent Exmoor base.

Breakfast is very enjoyable, plenty of choice, lunch is made to order if you plan a day out, evening meals are of a very high standard,...

My partner & I and my brother & his wife have just spent a lovely weekend in Simonsbath. My grandfather and his sons worked as shepherds on the Fortescue estate and lived in tied cottages. Simonsbath House Hotel used to be split into 3, or maybe 4, such cottages and my grandparents lived in the left-hand side of it. We...

The hotel is the oldest house on Exmoor. It has retained many of its original features, although there have been many sympathetic additions. Our bedroom on the ground floor was spacious, comfortable and very clean, with lots of storage space and sufficient hangers for both of us. The group booked bed , breakfast and evening meal and we were supplied...
