Lovely setting, though tiny roads are probably a nightmare in summer traffic. We just wanted somewhere warm and cosy for a light lunch, and this place exceeded on all points. Great mushroom and truffle oil soup, and pate on brioche.

The rooms are OK. Our bed was small which is difficult with a husband who is 6ft. 3" It is also noisy when another guest flushes the loo in the night!. The dinner was very average. The bream was dry and disappointing, and those in the party who had the roast beef, who enjoy it rare found it to be...

The team were very welcoming as always and could not do enough to make the weekend a success, in particular the enthusiasm of Hilary, Scott, Stacy and Sammy was excellent. Our guests were very impressed with the rooms and all the additions. The food was excellent and exceeded expectation all round. Strongly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Great service. Special thanks to Hilary, Stacy and Sammy for making our stay so special. Our double room was clean, spacious, warm, bright. Our bathroom had all toiletries we needed. It was the second time we have stayed at Tarr Farm and it was even better than the first time. The food and was delicious...can't fault it at all and...

Good food for hungry walkers. Lots of food choices and good beer too. Plenty of places to sit and relax ready for the next miles up hill out of the valley. The Tarr Steps Inn is in a great spot overlooking the river and steps as name suggests. Staff were good , fairly quick and all plates empty. Dogs had...

Amazing location, child friendly, excellent staff and a very nice pint. Ended up being somewhere we gravitated to at the end of most of our walks in the area. Although we didn't stay overnight or have food here, both looked an excellent prospect and something we will definitely look into.

It is a delight to find Hillary is now in full command and not surprisingly Tarr Farm is back to being the place to stay when visiting Exmoor with friends. I was first to arrive (rather than last as usual) and sat in the bar as she charmed two groups of walkers into taking rooms on the only night she...
