We were priviledged to be the first visitors for the reopening of this proud but warm and lived in home. We were extended the utmost hospitality and given so much useful local information as well as the facinating history of the Kelly family. Our duel aspect room was light, airy and private, overlooking the long sloping lawns of the front garden. Breakfast was a feast of local delights. I cannot recommend Kelly House more highly.

We loved our time at Kelly House. It’s the second time we’ve been there… The first time was last spring to visit the poison plant garden (Fascinating!), but this time we stayed overnight in the fourposter bedroom for two nights.

Lovely homely atmosphere, tea and cakes, great breakfast, very friendly owners who helped us with our history project for the local school.

They’ve done a great job restoring this house slowly but surely and that in itself is a great project and very admirable.

I wish them all the success in the world.

The Kelly family are about as welcoming and friendly as they come. There is also a unique history to this b&b that rivals some of the better known houses in Cornwall. The rooms themselves are spacious and newly refurbished and you couldn't find anywhere more restful. We had the best night's sleep imaginable. The house is being restored by the current owners and it's interesting to hear about their plans for it all. If you want the 'vanilla' of a chain hotel with rooms half the size and character go somewhere else. If you want authenticity, welcome, comfort, quiet and, not to mention lovely breakfast, stay at Kelly.

My partner booked this trip as a surprise. Unfortunately night before we were suppose to travel a fell very ill so he had to cancel in the morning of our trip.
We tried to get partial refund. Booking.com has made numerous attempts to contact the owners to explain our situation to no avail.
I tried to contact them and manager told me as a goodwill gesture they would partially refund us, which was 3 weeks ago and since then no contact. I have again followed up with an email, but not heard anything back.
I find business who doesn't respond to customers not reliable unfortunately and its massive let NO from me!

We have just come back from a wonderful three night stay here and had a great time.

Our room was stunning - beautiful four poster bed and lovely en-suite. Gorgeous views across the countryside.

Sophia, the host, was very sweet and attentive. She told us about the history and restoration of the house which was fascinating. The family items dotted around the house really brought its history to life.

The food was excellent. Great choice of breakfast and lovely cakes at tea time too.
The location was perfect - lovely walks and very rural.

We stayed here for three nights, unfortunately arriving quite late on the first night. However upon arrival we were offered sandwiches, cake and tea which kind of sums up the experience for me. Nothing was too much trouble and the customer service they give there is outstanding. We stayed in the gold room and the bed was very comfortable, the shower was excellent and the breakfast was scrummy. If you want to stay somewhere with character then this is the place for you.

This place is lovely and value for money.
My business stayovers are at the usually uninspiring haunts( Premier Inn, Travelodge, Holidayinn etc ). So this time I decided to have a look around for something different.

Kelly House met and exceeded my expectations. Its not a large hotel / B&B, so you get great customer service. The food is also very good. Lots of free parking, free wifi and breakfast is part of the package. The room I had was very large and the shower was great too.

I will definitely be returning!

We were greeted on arrival by our hosts Sophie and Chris who helped carry our bags up to our enormous bedroom with its huge, comfy four-poster bed. There are chests of drawers and a large wardrobe to accommodate your clothes, and a palatial modern bathroom en-suite, with a very large bath and an excellent shower -- oodles of hot water! The room we stayed in had underfloor heating and was lovely and cosy and warm. Having seen our room we went downstairs to the lounge for a lovely cup of tea and home-made cake with Sophie and Chris, who answered all our questions about the house and its history. The Kelly family have been there since the Norman Conquest! The food was delicious and whilst my husband tucked in to the 'full English breakfast' I enjoyed gourmet porridge served with rum-soaked raisins, dark brown sugar and double cream. We really enjoyed our stay and can unreservedly recommend Kelly House. Thank you Sophie and Chris!

My husband and I recently stayed at Kelly House and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We were guests at a wedding at nearby Wonwood Barton but our stay at Kelly House was a real highlight of our weekend too!
Sophia, Chris and Warren are lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble.
The house is beautiful with so many interesting and quirky features. We stayed in the Gold Room which was huge and the views were amazing through dual aspect windows.
Breakfast was delicious with options of a full English, fresh fruit, yoghurts or cereal. We also enjoyed the afternoon treats on the piano - chocolate cupcakes - yum.
We’d recommend Kelly House in a heartbeat and hope to be back. Sophia, thank you for such a memorable stay.
