We booked late for the week after Easter - we had 3 nights in a de luxe room and then because those rooms were fully taken we moved to a classic room for the last two nights. Two absolute pluses for the hotel - location and cuisine. As to location, you have views of the sea, Lundy, Hartland Point and...

We stayed for two nights while walking the South West Coastal Path and Watersmeet was a real highlight of our trip. The location is spectacular and the dining room and lounges take full advantage of this. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable. An initial problem with the wifi in my teenage son's room not working, was quickly solved...

I booked a couple of nights at the Watersmeet for my partner’s birthday. I wanted it to be really special and the website photos and reviews led me to believe that it would be. The location, without a doubt, is absolutely stunning. The panoramic sea views from the breakfast/dining room, in particular, are amazing. But in a way I felt...

The Hotel has amazing views and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was very clean. My only negative is we used the shower gel and shampoo on the first night , but although we stayed there 3 nights they never replenished the items (good job we brought our own).

Staying at Watersmeet made our anniversary weekend. The staff were brilliant and made sure they knew who you were and what room you were staying in. They were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The rooms and exceptional and the views from the rooms and from the bar/dining areas are stunning. If you are undecided on...

I am a little late in writing this review however we stayed 5 nights at the Watersmeet Hotel in February over Valentines weekend. We stayed in room 6 (classic with balcony) which has recently been refurbished with attractive wooden flooring and beautifully coordinating decor. The views from the balcony across the bay are stunning. Breakfast in the hotel is of...

Stayed here for a week in March, from arrival to departure everything was perfect. As others have commented the rooms at the front have stunning views over Woolacombe bay, some have balconies others have large shuttered bay windows. Rooms are well furnished and have complementary Tea/Coffee/bottled water etc. Room and bathroom are clean and kept that way daily. We ate...

The hotel is in a stunning location with fabulous views of the bay. The rooms are very comfortable and most have balconies with sea views. The staff are very attentive and polite. The communal areas are stylishly decorated and clean. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel especially for a special occasion.

From the outset when booking i received a first class service - the communication was prompt, friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. My Mum loved her stay and had (she said) the best massage she'd had in her life. I think the lady's name is Carol, my Mum hasn't stopped telling everyone about her. The receptionist is perhaps...

We are a couple in our early thirties and stayed for 3 nights at the end of February (out of season). The hotel was easy to find and ideally located right on the seafront a short walk from the main town and a short (very steep uphill) walk to the tiny hamlet of Mortehoe, perched higher up the cliff. Service...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Watersmeet hotel located on the quiet edge of Woolacombe is one of Devon's finest coastal hotels. It is perfectly perched on the cliff edge above a quiet, sandy beach known as Combegate beach. All but three of the bedrooms offer spectacular sea views to Lundy Island and Baggy Point. A number of the bedrooms have original wooden balconies where you can sit and watch magnificent sunsets. The seaward side of the hotel offers one long, uninterrupted panorama and whether you're reading the paper in the lounge or dining in the restaurant you can enjoy the most wonderful views of the sea and rolling surf. The very best pocket sprung beds; thick, luxurious duvets; crisp white linen and superior memory foam pillows ensure a comfortable night's sleep. The table d'hote and bistro restaurants offer a high standard of cuisine. 2 AA rosette awarded many of the ingredients are locally sourced. On the hotel's doorstep is one of the country's best surfing beaches; a top links golf course. For the ramblers - the hotel could not be better placed with scenic National Trust land that surround the hotel and beautiful coastal footpaths to Morte Point and Lee. ... more   less
