This is a pleasant country pub. Clean, friendly and unpretentious. There are good choices on the menu and we have yet to be disappointed by anything we have ordered from it. Our favourite meal, however is their carvery. The meat is always excellent quality, the array of fresh, steamed vegetables impressive. There are always steamed, new potatoes, in their skins...

This is a great carvery. The food was really hot and fresh. The staff were helpful and kind. The choice of meet and veg were good. The prices were reasonable too. Rooms available to stay if required. Would visit again.

What a lovely meal. Piping hot, fresh vegetables and a large choice. My plate was absolutely full. It was a really tasty meal. The only downside was the meat was carved wafer thin and I could almost see through it. Will definitely give it another go :)

went to this carvery as it was at the top of the road from where we were staying. The whole restaurant needs updating. You got enough meat and could help yourself to vegs. The vegs were ok would of helped if they were covered up as some were drying out. The gravy was put on meat , but not on...

Our party of 12 ended up going to Fortescue on Sunday 23rd October as the old mill in woolacombe was packed. First impressions....the car park is ridiculously small and I struggled to park. From the outside it looks nice but inside is lovely and bright. We were told that there was a half hour wait so we decided to have...

It's great to happen upon a hotel that doesn't rip you off charging for your dog to stay with you. The Fortescue has very friendly staff and is clean + comfortable enough+ reasonably priced. On the downside, though there was no hotel information in the room + no handles to the bath/ shower. The hotel is a bit dated. Thank you...

Great welcome from the landlord, the room was clean and comfortable. My wife had the carvery which was superb with good choice of fresh vegetables, I had a lamb curry prepared by the highly talented chef, Edward, nothing was too much trouble also a great pint. Will certainly be back. Mike from Chester.

We called in for a meal one evening this week whilst visiting Woolacombe, the restaurant itself wwhilst being spacious is out dated and in need of a revamp.my daughter and I ordered salmon with freh vegetables and new potatoes. And we're both extremely disappointed with the food. The vegetables were over cooked and had been hanging around for some time being...

The staff seemed very confused with every question, with us being told 3 different things by 3 different people. We only wanted to know whether we could eat outside! Prices for main meals weren't overpriced. Lots of local drinks on offer. The food was ok - granted we didn't have the carvery which I have heard good things about so...
