Had a reunion here - excellent evening and everyone had a brilliant time. Not all stayed as there were 32/33 of us, but we were all made to feel welcome and the food and service were very, very good. We stayed in a B & B about a mile away which puts up the overflow for Castleman.

Sensationally delicious dinner - so many options that sounded wonderful it was hard to choose Really light and spacious room Great atmosphere (we don't like/need the latest fads and this 'traditional' style suits us perfectly) Fabulous service

Tucked away in the Dorset countryside this restaurant with rooms is a superb find. Only 8 rooms but each one with space and attention to guest's comfort. the welcome is friendly but not OTT and the food cooked by the owner is excellent, a great choice and a menu that changes every day. there is a small bar but also...

Just back from 2nd visit to the Castleman. We had a 3 day break and wish it could have been more. Usually you can find something to be critical about, but this was almost perfect.. From the welcome when we arrived to the excellent bedroom (four poster), and above all the wonderful food. We have been to quite a few...

We stayed for one night with our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter to break a journey to a family funeral. This country house hotel was a little quirky but very comfortable. The bar area was welcoming and the reception rooms large and well furnished. We enjoyed an excellent evening meal and because our daughter and family were arriving late, the staff...

we stayed at the castleman for a night with our son and his fiancé, old and charming and very good staff, they changed my room straight away , as the first one we were shown was a bit grim , faded and dated, the one we stayed in was much nicer with a 4 poster bed over looking the lawn...

A beautiful interior boasting oodles of Olde English charm. The reception rooms are crammed with comfortable sofas, books and old fashioned furniture. The restaurant is bright and airy and the food delicious. Being a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel it is a rather laid back, relaxed and friendly experience and you may sometimes need to seek a person...

This hidden gem is beautiful, with grand staircase and old world charm in a magnificent manor house. I took my daughter here for a 40th birthday treat and we sat in the garden with a glass of wine (very reasonable prices) watching pheasants in the pastures beyond. We tasted amazing pears that fell off their stalks and into our hands...

We went to the Castleman for the first time for a meal, following several recommendations. The food and service was excellent, and very competitively priced, catering, it seems, for mature couples, as my wife and I were the youngest ones in the restaurant (in our 50s). The siting rooms are grand and comfortable and although the restaurant was full, it...

This rather grand old country house hotel tucked away in one of Dorsets pretty and quirky villages enjoys a reputation for fine dining and is justly deserved. We enjoyed a celebratory dinner in a pretty and airy dining room, after having drinks served in the blue room. The food is freshly prepared from locally sourced ingredients, a very wide choice...
