A lovely well kept site, many different pitches, we like to pitch at the bottom of the site which feels like your almost in the forest, there are pitches in fields and some on more conventional , hardstanding pitches, very friendly staff, splash pool for children in the summer, access to Wareham forest and miles of cycle/walking track through stunning...

Great little site with extremely friendly and helpful staff, serviced pitch was a nice touch although pegging the awning down was a bit of a pain. Brilliant shower block and plenty of space for kids to play, will go back before the end of the season.

We recently purchased our first ever Caravan and chose Birchwood as the first place to visit in it. Being new things were somewhat overwhelming and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Other companies, not just in this sector, should take note of the way in which the owners run the site and deal with the customers....

Arrived here and first reaction was the site was a bit sparse. Not much planting on site and grass just a bit long. Bins were full which didn't add to the look of the site but the toilet block was exceptionally clean. Wifi was £1 per day but there is not a great signal. Practically non existent! We have not...

We arrived late at the bank holiday weekend and we were fitted in (after being turned away at other sites) for the whole weekend. The site was faultlessly clean, staff were constantly seen around the park which was lovely. All the staff we spoke to were really helpful and very friendly. The are a lot of facilities on the site...

All staff we spoke too From booking a stay here right through to the end of our stay was polite, helpful and friendly. The campsite had good facilities, you constantly saw staff going into the toilet blocks to keep them clean and tidy, the paddling pool, sandpit and the park are great fun for the little ones and the games...

We booked a trip very last minute for the August bank holiday. Most sites I had contacted wanted a minimum of 3 nights to reserve a pitch. Birchwood allowed as many (or few) nights as we wanted which suited our plans. From the moment we turned up the staff were friendly and helpful, booking us in quickly and getting us...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Birchwood Tourist Park is a touring caravan and camping site located three miles drive from the town of Wareham, and is centrally located for visiting Bournemouth, Poole, The Isle of Purbeck, Dorchester, Weymouth and the Jurassic coastline. We are an open, rural Park surrounded by Wareham Forest, our boundary adjoining the forest so with direct access for walking and cycling. Dogs are welcome on a short lead. We are open most of the year, including over Christmas and New Year when our block-paved hard-standing serviced pitches are open. There is a well-stocked shop in the Reception, two toilet blocks with free showers and we offer a range of pitches; including block-paved hard-standings with gravel area for awning, grass pitches or gravel pitches, fully serviced (16 amp electric hook up, water & drain connection points and TV socket point), or electric hook ups (10 amp) connection and plenty of space for tents. We have a barrier system for entry and exit onto the Park, operated by a number- plate recognition system linked to your booking and which deactivates overnight to prevent cars driving onsite after 10.00 pm and before 7 am. The Park is set in 27 acres and has a large separate games field for ball games, tennis area, kite flying or group activities. We also have a 2 foot (0.6m) deep unheated paddling pool for the children, a sandpit, swings and play area near the central toilet block. ... more   less
