We had scampi and chips and scallops with black pudding. Both were cooked well using excellent quality ingredients, and altogether a fine pub meal. CAMRA real ale here, too. Certainly not cheap, but bearing in mind the quality, the value was fine.

This a nice bar and feels like a real bar. Great choice of vodkas and find as well as whisky's. Prices a bit on the steep side. We had a meal and couldn't fault it. Apparently the manager/landlord only does the bar when it's not busy and when he came in he didn't acknowledge anyone and the bar was dead....

the day that you were in to watch the football there were posters to say what games were on and which tv's they would be on. most of football customers come in to watch the premier league games don't understand what the problem was as we showed both games my barman was on duty the day that you came in....

From the moment we arrived we were looked after. Check in was fast and we were in our rooms within 5 mins. The rooms are not the biggest but this is a really old hotel, what it lacks in size it makes up for in functionality, roasting showers, large comfy bed and very clean. It was freezing outside later on but certainly wasnt in...

Drinks too expensive, the manager is rude and unfriendly, the bar lacks atmosphere, the place does not have the typical Findhorn character. The food was good and arrived in good time but what is the deal with dinner ending before 8pm...arrive in time for staff/manager to leave by a certain time?! Are customers there for the managers convenience? Not a...

Repeat customer - travelling back from Macduff we didn't miss the chance to pop in again. The food was delicious we opted for the mussels and cullen skink for staters which both tasted fresh and excellent prepared. My son had the mac and cheese which reminded me of my mums - very moreish indeed. I couldn't stop sampling it. Anyway...

We went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday on recommendation. We love seafood and we're looking forward to our dinner. The fresh mussels ( a starter) were a disgrace. Clearly cooked some time prior to serving, probably the day before, the mussels were desiccated, small and shrivelled. They had been reheated probably in a microwave and served with...

We experienced a warm welcome, roaring fire and excellent Scottish food and drink at this lovely old hotel and bar. All the meals were fresh and tasty but the seafood options were exceptional. We all had the Cullen skink starter and loved it. One of our party was keen to try some of the Scottish gins he'd been hearing about...

My family had yet another delicious meal tonight. Been going here about every month for a while now & never fails to serve up delicious food. Dishes such as Sticky chicken, Balmoral chicken, steak & ale pie to name but a few are delicious. I'm not a fish lover though plenty of local fish meals to choose from. Not forgetting...
