We actually stopped off here for the Sunday Carvery, but it wasn't on :( . We had a choice of tables as it wasn't busy, but it was a horrendously stormy day. The restaurant was warm and inviting and we got our drinks quickly. I ordered the Sunday Roast, which was Turkey. My friend had the traditional fish and chips....

Had a very cheap break here at the beginning of December. Like other reviewers we had no heating in our bathroom and our room was cold but we found the staff very helpful and we were given a heater as soon as we asked. We had a meal the first night took forever to arrive the vegetarian choice was very...

My husband and I took our kids to the Stotfield for a Sunday roast in their brasserie before Christmas. I have to say it was pretty disappointing - the hotel is tired and in need of renovation. The food was passable but nothing exciting. Given that it was a Christmas lunch, I would have expected all the trimmings like stuffing...

I recently stayed for two night in room 232. The only reason I stayed two nights was because I was too late to cancell my second night without a cancelation fee. I did move to the Royal in Elgin after that. So room 232: freezing heating came on a seven in morning but was very poor, could only turn bathroom...

The position of the hotel is really good. No doubt in its time this was a fantastic hotel. The staff are very friendly and nice. The room was cold as the heating is not enough to heat the room. No heating in bathroom. The staff did supply an electric heater. The water from the hot water tap was warm to...

This is an old hotel, and it shows in some areas. There is not lift, as would be expected in an establishment of this age, but neither was there staff assistance to get our suitcases up the two flights of stairs. It does however have the character that one would hope to find in a place like this. The heating...

The property is a large and rambling hotel that oozes charm; sometimes in the wrong places, adn one has to admit to a certain patina of age that permeates, but with the atmosphere off the property, and its superb location, all is forgiven. I do have a soft spot for leather armchairs, even if their seats are a touch worn;...

Hotel was lovely but dated. Room was clean and warm. Lovely view of the sea. Bathroom lovely and big but not enough hot water for a bathPity no soap on the shower. Went back to Lossiemouth after 25 years. looking for somewhere to stay found a very good deal on a booking website for the Stotfield. Yes it's true the hotel is a little tired in places and the rooms a little basic ( although everything you would expect was there ) but the staff were very friendly and it's well worth...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel in Lossiemouth. A great relaxed family friendly atmosphere exists at this hotel and is frequented by many returning guests and locals alike. The breathtaking view from the front of hotel overlooks the Moray Firth and beyond to the Cromarty Firth and to the hills of Caithness. The hotel is directly opposite the ancient Moray Golf Club, and is ideally situated for exploring the Coastal, Castle or Whisky trail, as well as being well situated for visiting the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and surrounding area. The Stotfield Hotel has recently undergone a refreshing transformation of many of its bedrooms and also the ground floor guest area. However, this historic hotel retains many of its original character and features from 1895, including the fantastic sweeping staircase and period revolving front door. During your stay you can enjoy free access to high speed wireless broadband throughout the hotels public areas, free car parking (limited spaces available, ample on street parking adjacent to the hotel) but most of all comfortable and relaxed surroundings. ... more   less
