We had our daughters wedding there on 22/2/20 I would have wrote this review then but I was enjoying the day and resting the day after. We dealt with Ross from the start in getting everything sorted and he was terrific but as he went on holiday we dealt with Clare OMG she is a dream nothing was left to do I was worried as I wanted the tables a certain way and a few other things I wanted just right I didn’t even need to ask it was all done for me ,she thought of everything and dealt with it al in such a professional manner,as we have a few vegans in the family and the groom who has severe allergies which we worry about all the time had a brilliant meal and no concerns as the brilliant chef had it all sorted(Been to the excellent restaurant in the hotel 5 Star) all the food they made was fantastic everyone commented on the meal saying it was the best ever wedding meal they had .We had guests from all over the country and they all agreed.
I also need to mention the waiters and waitresses and bar staff also they were spot on.
And a big thanks the the housekeeping getting all rooms ready and the venue most time this gets over looked .We also stayed as other guests from the wedding party the rooms are stunning and spotless and really modern .
We will be back for meals and other tribute nights which are excellent and value for money it caters for all venues ,weddings tribute nights Mother’s Day Christmas nights etc.. I know it sounds like I am bugging the hotel up but I am
Can I just say it is so hard to go out for a meal with my daughter and son in law as a lot of restaurants do not cater for him and so many times turn them away so to find not just a restaurant but a fantastic hotel to have their big day is a life time memory’s for us all.
Here I go please try the hotel if only for a meal then you decide or if you are thinking of a wedding or any event they have open days ,farmers food day tribute nights etc..
We were treated like royalty and my daughter and my new son in law were so overwhelmed with it all and will never forget it.
Thank you Dalziel Park and to the lovely Clare and all the staff you made a great day and brilliant memories for us all.

Beautiful venue. The day from start to finish was great, considering the times we are in at the moment. The room was elegantly decorated for both the service and the wedding breakfast and evening party.
The wedding breakfast itself was really nice, the couple had chosed a great menu choice and it was beautifully cooked and presented.

Unfortunately The buffet couldn't have been more different. A choice of 3 items were brought to the table. Chicken satay, mini cheeseburger and sausage roll
The chicken satay was plain, unseasoned chicken in a peanut covering, no taste to it.
The burger you could have cracked a window with it. Over cooked, tough meat in a brioche bun with plastic cheese and tomato sauce. I never tried the sausage roll.

The proof in this will be the huge amount of food that was left over. The staff also left food on tables that were empty.

My one other criticism of a really good night was the staff member in charge. Just before 12 she was going round the tables to get everyone shifted, however her manner was not nice. Her words were "You need to leave the table and go outside, now" a wee bit of niceness stretches and most certainly was not unnoticed.

Would I be back, yes, did I enjoy the day/night overall, yes. Do Dalziel need to work on some point, absolutely!!

We stayed here Sunday 21st August.

We stayed with friends we were visiting and had rooms 3 and 4.
Our room’s were lovely decorated with a huge bed, clean throughout. Iron, ironing board and hairdryer in wardrobe.
Blackout blind

The only thing we didn’t have on our tea tray was normal breakfast tea, only flavoured teas.

Our bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up.

What a great first impression, lovely grounds and clean throughout.

even though it was busy Sunday afternoon there were still plenty of parking, especially in the main entrance area.

Speedy check in and straight to our rooms to drop off our bags.

We then headed to the bar and went outside to drink our drinks.
Although We did have a few issues with the wasps and moved a couple of times, but eventually covered our drinks, then the wasps soon disappeared again.

We had evening meal and breakfast, all our meals were lovely and well presented,
we also asked for water and was given a carafe of icd cold water.

All staff were friendly throughout our stay, especially Graham at breakfast a real happy gem.

Thank you to everyone and look forward to visiting again in the very near future.

from Wigmore Kent.

Came here yesterday for breakfast with my family. Was greeted by an older woman who was at the door of the restaurant who asked if we had booked a table, which we hadn't done. She rolled her eyes and rushed off which was a bad impression from the onset, if she would have been polite and said you guys should really have booked we would have understood. She took us to the table and rushed off again. When we were ordering I ordered the breakfast and asked if i could have no mushroom, black pudding or tomato, again rolled her eyes, I asked if i could swap these out for an extra egg- she jumped straight down my throat saying i would have to pay extra for it, which we thought was a joke considering i asked to remove half the breakfast. Constantly checking her watch when my 10 year old brother was deciding what to drink. Then they didnt bring the extra potato scone over and we couldnt get a hold of anyone to ask for it. When we had finished we waited 30 minutes for someone to come tidy up and get the bill, i eventually had to get up and go ask as we felt we were getting ignored. Staff to busy focusing on wedding party that were in rather than guests. Breakfast was really good but the service totally put us off from coming again, wish i knew the womans name but didnt seem to have a name badge on.

Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. At the moment we only offer breakfast at the weekend so we tend to be very busy as it has always been popular at Dalziel Park. When you arrived we agree you should have been greeted in a welcoming manner and advised in a polite way regarding booking a table. When we have spoken with the member of staff they are extremely embarrassed that they have come across in this manner and send their sincere apologies as this was never their intention. In order for the kitchen to deliver a smooth service unfortunately we are unable to substitute items on our full breakfast however we always have the facility to build your own itemised breakfast. Once again we are sorry that our service didn't meet our usual standard and all feedback has been taken on board. Kind regards, Lisa Clark

Attending a family function in the big function suite and the service we received was utterly shocking from start to finish. On arrival, it was unorganised chaos! One woman trying to organise drinks for people arriving. Once seated the waitresses came round the tables for drinks orders. We asked her what lager they had and she responded with ‘I’ve no idea I don’t work at the bar. I was just asked to take a drinks order’ then stared at us with a blank expression in her face. Absolutely disgraceful. She should have went and checked but she just stood there. Every single worker that day looked like they should be at school. No one to organise them. Food orders were also all over the place. Food was bland and lacked flavour. No salt or pepper on the tables, Yorkshire puddings could have broke the window they were so hard. Puddings aren’t much better. Sticky toffee pudding was a dry bit of sponge with a tea spoon of sauce. Must be rationing it! Tea and coffee was served and the milk arrived on the tables 10 minutes later. Really need to invest in some decent training and organisation! Hang your heads in shame for the money you charge and the service you provide. I’m a local and would never book this place for any celebration that I was as having

Went for afternoon tea with my sister. Nice surroundings but that is the only positive. Was asked if there was anything I didn’t like and I said pickles. Waiter said he hoped my sister liked them but he would bring me something else. Open Sandwiches but the bread didn’t support the toppings which ended up on the plate. Wasn’t keen on any of the sandwich fillings, lettuce with cheese and Branston pickle, chicken with a dollop of green pesto on top and coronation chicken. Tuna crunch were ok but tiny. Most of the sandwiches we left. No savoury pastries unless you pay extra. We got 4 small scones which were toasted which suggests they had been taken out the freezer but the same could be said for the cakes which we took home but they didn’t travel well and ended up in the bin. Only one small pot of jam for 2 people and 4 scones. I asked for another and was brought one with the seal broken and half the jar missing. The waitress did apologise and brought another one. The staff aren’t attentive enough for afternoon tea as we sat without tea for a long time. The restaurant was very busy but that’s no excuse. First time I’ve ever left afternoon tea to come straight home and eat. Really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.

As a regular to this place as its local to us, we always look forward to visiting for breakfasts and dinners whenever we can. Lots of our family have bought us many vouchers as they know how much we use it.

So we had booked a table and turned up on time. When we arrived we were told our table wasn’t ready and some people were still at it and could we take a seat in waiting area! The place was empty except for a large party table. Every single window seat for 2 was empty except 1. So we didn’t understand why we were waiting for a table when literally there was 3 at window and two at the other sides of the booths empty. Anyway they eventually worked out we could have a table and then placed us in the big corner table tucked between the exit door and till!! Had to ask why here and could we not get a window seat or the bench seats! They then said ohh the one available hasn’t been cleaned yet and sat us at a dirty table while 3 other tables sat empty!!! Can not understand this at all!! I could see the point if we were walk ins, but we had booked and the other bookings weren’t even in yet the tables were empty! Also the corner tables we were put at are usually used for when u attend with kids as there isn’t much space at the other tables.

Anyway once settled we ordered our drinks. No jug of water offered to table - this is standard in Dalziel and every other table before and after us we’re offered this. When I asked for some water with my wine I was given 1 glass. Honestly felt like we were being treated like second class citizens was very embarrassed and annoyed by the service.

The main meal chicken fillet and goats cheese starter were lovely as usual. However the prawn cocktail was well below usual standard. The prawns didn’t taste fresh and tasted like poor frozen quality - tiny, no taste and rubbery. The Marie Rose sauce was awful like water mixed with tomato sauce. So runny and no taste at all. The salad was a couple of spoonfuls and the leaves were brown at the bottom. For £8 this was bitterly disappointing and definitely not up to the usual standard. The cheesecake was also fairly reduced in size and the texture was more like a chocolate mouse.

All in all felt let down by our experience and had been so looking forward to it as only recently reopened full time. Also the seating situation needs addressed it’s not fair having a booking and others getting preferential treatment of tables being kept when they are arriving a good bit later. We were there a good 40 mins/1 hour before any of the other window seats were even occupied, so why we couldn’t get one or why we got a dirty one I will never understand. We would have been treated better walking in off the street.

However big shout out to the new tall older gentleman waiter serving us. He was an absolute gem and a credit to Dalziel he helped with lots of the issues and seemed to be the only one with some common sense, his customer service skills were on point and he oozed class and quality.

We were going to book for breakfast in the morning with the family but after this experience we didn’t bother.

In our search for a wedding venue, this was the top of our list by far and couldn’t wait to have a showaround. Well, the day arrives and we turn up to be “greeted” by the lady showing us round. I say “greeted” because her first words were “what’s your numbers”.

Didn’t even ask my partners name and didn’t acknowledge him at all. We were then taken into a small hall that had been set up for a funeral and told “so this is the room” followed by awkward silence. I was only shown more when I enquired about what the other rooms were for etc, she showed no interest in showing us anything else.

After enquiring about it, we were taken in to a far bigger hall that was much more appropriate for a wedding and was actually set up for a wedding so why we were shown a room set up for a funeral rather than the one next door that had actually been set up for a wedding I’ve no idea. I get there’s different rooms for different numbers but it would have been nice for us to be offered to have a look at different options without us having to query it, being shown a small room set up for a funeral isn’t exactly a great first impression.

We were then sat down for a quick read over the brochure. We were shown package prices but were never given a personalised quote nor were we asked if we wanted to professionally book a date. We also haven’t been contacted since to see if we’ve made a choice yet. I point these things out because everywhere else did exactly that and couldn’t have been more pleasant. No one at Dalziel really cared at all if I’m honest and we were very disappointed as we had high hopes for the venue. It felt like they just didn’t want us there and didn’t want our business at all. If you’re looking for somewhere I highly recommend theTorrance hotel in East Kilbride or the Radstone in Larkhall. The people there couldn’t be nicer and the venues are beautiful!

Myself and my partner have visited Dalziel Park on numerous occassions for meals, family weddings and anniversary celebrations and have always been very happy. On saturday 15th Feb my partner and myself arrived in the bar area for pre dinner drink at 1845, bar service good , very busy and only table available was a large bar booth which would seat at least 12 empty but reserved for 1930 so we sat at the edge of this to enjoy our drink. We were very quickly approached by ? Bar manager George ( he never introduced himself ) and told this table is reserved we said thats fine we are going for dinner at 1930 anyway to which he said no they are coming earlier so we got up gathered our coats and my partner said maybe you should change the time in the sign which made ? George very angry verging on aggresive and he changed the time to1900. What a shame thar one person can spoil your experience of a night out. When we left the bar at 1930 to go for dinner table was still lying empty. Every other member of staff we met were very friendly and helpfull and the meal was lovely but this would make me think twice re revisiting.

The staff at Dalziel Park Hotel helped to make our wedding day even more special. Graeme and his staff went above and beyond to provide us with the perfect experience. The wedding meals were exceptional, and not a single person had a complaint. The bar staff were quick and attentive delivering some awesome cocktails and keeping everyone watered (Definitely recommend the Dalziel Cosmopolitan and the Refresher cocktail). The nighttime buffet was delicious but everyone was still so full from dinner. All of the suppliers that we were provided delivered exceptional quality products, especially the DJ who had the place dancing all night. Every single one of our guests left the venue thoroughly enjoying the hospitality they received throughout the day and evening. Absolutely everything ran like clockwork.

We were given a room at the rear cottages, the room was quiet and the large four-poster bed was so comfortable that we didn't want to leave.

We can't recommend Dalziel Park Hotel enough if you are considering a wedding venue, they will go above and beyond to make your day as special as it possibly can be.

We will definitely be back again in the future for an overnight and a meal.
