We've had lunch twice at the Taversoe and have not been disappointed on either occasion. The first time we were a small party of 3 and were pleasantly surprised by the diversity and quality of the meals - thus we promptly arranged reservations for lunch for a group of 14. The staff greeted our request with prevenience and offerd us...

We were greeted by Kerrie the owner who was more than helpful and accommodating. She showed us to our rooms which were very well presented, clean and very modern, the en suite was immaculate. The views from the rooms were superb especially on a wintry day, they were warm and very comfortable. Then evening meal was home made and served...

We spend only one day in beautiful Rousay. My wife has to use a wheelchair and toilets were a problem. However, we called at the hotel after we got off the ferry and my wife was welcome to use their disabled toilet. It was on the small size but adequate. We returned for lunch and had a delicious meal overlooking...

Location is stunning on an international scale..... the best sea view I've had from a dining room or bedroom. A simple enough building on an island with enough archaeology to make you feel you're in a time machine... mesolithic, neolithic, Viking, iron age, dark ages, the Broch people and a bit of runic graffiti in the ferry toilet. Decent menu,...

Rousay is a fantastic island but it can tend to rain! Having done several chambered cairns, we took shelter here and were astounded by the service and the menu. Brie & Courgette soup! Ask yourself how often you have had something like that in a remote island. It was great!

Great place for lunch on a day trip to Rousay. Wonderful view across the water to the mainland of Orkney with the lovely island of Eynhallow. Friendly staff, efficient service and good food. They cater for various dietary needs including a choice of two kinds of gluten free bread. Delicious chips and a good variety of sandwiches.

Very reasonably priced. It's not exactly The Ritz by first impression, once inside its done up very nicely. Lovely dining area, clean toilets. Good menu with homemade and inventive recipes. Good quality. Friendly staff. A family feel to the place. Good fun watching the funny chickens outside. Yet to experience the hotel but will do that next time

We stopped at the Taversoe for lunch on a walking trip in Rousay, remembering how good it had been the previous year. Home-made soup, Westray crab sandwiches (generously filled), hand-cut chips and plenty of tea all made for an excellent meal. The staff are delightful and very helpful, and the bill was more than reasonable. We shall be there again...

My husband and I had a lovely lunch here whilst on a day trip. The ham in my sandwich was very tasty and the sandwich was well filled. My husband isn't keen on sandwiches and the waitress said it was possible to have the ham with egg and chips. It's so lovely when the menu isn't fixed. I finished off...
