Situated in a small town along the shores of the Infamous Loch Ness, the Lovat hotel is a rebuilt manor house that still has all the charm of old style Scotland. There are multiple rooms where you can sit, relax, and read a book or enjoy a dram from the hotel bar. The fireplace is warm, much like the welcome...

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. (I've written a seperate review for their restaurant). We were given hot drinks to enjoy by the fire on arrival and they were very understanding about allergies for breakfast, providing me with gluten free toast which they prepare in a seperate area of...

The hotel is located few hundred feet from the "centre" of Fort Augustus, in a great old building and a motel-like addition with rooms accessible from the ground level. It has a cosy lobby, nice restaurant and serves great breakfasts. Rooms are spacious, comfy and well equipped, staff is helpful and polite. Opt for the room in the main hotel...

Having been decided to leave a truly appalling Hotel where we had booked a three day New Year celebration my wife and I had reluctantly accepted that our Scottish holiday was ruined and our Hogmoney celebration destroyed. All we expected was a bed and breakfast. Someone up there must have been smiling on us when purely by chance we came...

Now and again you come across a hotel that you just fall in love with. For us, The Lovat is such a place. We stayed over New Year and had a great time. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel most welcome, with the wonderful staff being attentive without being obtrusive. Our room (No 7) had a...

If you are expecting gastro pub you will be disappointed. The food and cocktails are worthy of the best in Lobdon. Had a delicious meal and they were extremely patient with my gregarious and slightly "merry" friends.

We've been here twice now and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone. Its classic exterior and modern rooms marry well, with the service of a four or five star hotel. The food, both at breakfast and in the brasserie at dinner time, is excellent. You can, as we did, also order a snack throughout the day and sit by the...

The room was cleaned to a high standard each day. Room service was available if required. In the main hotel the was lovely...

We got married at the Lovat on the 27th of September 2014 and had a totally fabulous day. In the run up to the wedding Caroline, the manager was really good with some strange requests such as a space in their freezer for our ice cream wedding cake and they were very flexible with the menu for our day -...
