Our road trip around Scotland provided us with the excuse to visit this lovely small hotel. Having come to Auchiltibue a number of times when our children were little, we had never actually stayed at the hotel, so 20 years later we finally made it. We were greeted on arrival by a friendly member of staff who showed us to...

Dear whosaid Many thanks for your lovely review. As we near the end of the season it is very good to see that our quality of food and standard of service is not slipping. I am glad that you mentioned booking in advance for a bar meal because if you haven't visited the hotel before you wouldn't know that the...

Small hotel, impressive restaurant, and wonderful view of the Summer Isles. A great combination which is very hard to beat. The scenario is breath-taking. The hotel also has a cottage which accommodates up to 6 - so is great for a family visit.

Dear WZander Many thanks for the review. I do remember your party and it is lovely to hear that you have gone away with such happy memories of your stay here at the Summer Isles and the find restaurant .........and of course this stunning location. It may be remote but in my view that is part of the attraction! I...

We stayed 2 nights on Tuesday and Wednesday the 4th and 5th of October and had a wonderful time. The location is magical with fantastic views of the Summer Isles. We stayed in the Oscaig room which was really comfortable with lovely views over the sea. We ate in the bar on both evenings and the mussels and seafood platter...

Dear SimonT Thank you for your lovely review. It is wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed your visit and you were certainly lucky with the weather - we are having a fantastic autumn. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the seafood in the bar - and the beer!......and also your cooked breakfast each morning. Your comments will, as usual,...

Stopped for lunch and found the lunch to be adequate, can't be more complimentary than that. It is a real shame that the bar area is not dog friendly. Almost every other pub we visited on the West Coast of Scotland was dog friendly. A minor criticism but important if you don't want to leave a dog in the car.

Dear GBBoxer Thank you for your review and sorry to hear that you found the lunch only 'adequate' although you didn't say why. With regards to our dog policy, we do welcome dogs at the hotel and indeed dogs are allowed in the majority of bedrooms. We also have guests who would prefer a hotel where dogs are not permitted...

this was our second night stop on the North Coast 500 Route. Great welcome from patrons @ hotel, clean & tidy, food was fantastic and log cabin large and cosy. Hotel overlooks the Bay & Summer Islands, just a beautiful setting with a short drive on single track road off the main route, well worth it .. Scenery just outstanding.

Dear Twinnie-two So happy to hear that you enjoyed your short stay with us and many thanks for your kind words. If I remember correctly you were celebrating a special birthday? I hope you enjoyed the rest of your tour on the NC500 and look forward to welcoming you back to the Summer Isles.

Born in Scotland but now living in Australia, I think this would have to be one of the most isolated hotels in the mainland UK. Situated 11 miles from Ullapool, the single lane road leads you to an idyllic location. The boutique hotel has labelled rooms, named for famous guests. Ours, the Chaplin room was reflective of the solitude I...

Dear djcrees52 Thank you so much for your very kind review. Delighted that you took the time to come slightly 'off the beaten track' to find us. It certainly is a chance to get away from the rat race and we are so pleased that you enjoyed the haven of Achiltibuie and also the whole dining experience at the hotel...

Dear Sandra M Thank you so much for sharing your dining experience on trip advisor and also for your very kind mentions to the staff. This place really is off the beaten path at the edge of a village on the coast about 40 minutes from Ullapool. Great friendly service in a comfortable and we'll run small hotel. We were very disappointed with our stay at the Summer isles hotel. Dear avonside Thank you for your review and very sorry to hear that your visit was a disappointment.
